CHAPTER 55

Kai and Ryan came rushing back when they heard what had happened. Kai was angry and wanted to know who was behind the attack at all cost. Ryan on the other hand was really scared and worried for Liora. He felt really bad that Liora was being dragged into their mess. She has nothing to do with their kind so why are they after her?

Liora let out a small groan, before she slowly opened her eyes. What welcomed her was the worried look on the guys faces. Her eyes swept through the room and frown in confusion. This wasn't her room, where is she?

Liora's gaze landed on Kai's angry face, then Ryan's worried one, and finally, she saw Zach standing in the corner, his eyes fixed on her with an intensity that made her frown.....

"Where... where am I?" she asked, her voice weak but clear. Kai stepped forward, his eyes softened upon hearing her voice.

"You're safe, Liora. You're with us."Liora's frown deepened.

"What's going on? Why am I here?"Ryan took a step forward, his expression soft.

"You were attacked, Liora. We don't know who did it, but we're going to find out."Liora's eyes widened as memories came flooding back. The pain, the fear... and but before that she heard a whisper. It was faint in her head, she couldn't quite understand what the words were but after the whisper she remembered being pulled into an unbearable pain.

"what.... Do you mean attack?" she asked still confused with everything.

The room fell silent, the guys exchanging a loaded glance. Kai's jaw was clenched, Zach's eyes were narrowed, and Ryan looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.

Liora's words were met with a chorus of concern and reassurance.

"Sis, you need to rest," Kai said, his voice softening. "We've got this, okay?"Ryan nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, Li, you're safe now. We'll figure out who did this, I promise."Zach's expression was a bit more guarded, but he stepped forward, his eyes locked on Liora's.

"We'll explain everything, but you need to get some rest first."Liora's frown deepened, but she could see the worry in their eyes. She nodded, her body sinking into the pillows.

"Fine... but someone better tell me what's going on."The guys exchanged a look, and for a moment, it seemed like they were trying to decide how much to reveal. Finally, Kai spoke up.

"We'll tell you everything, Li. Just get some rest, okay?"Liora nodded, her eyes drifting closed as the guys' worried faces faded into the darkness. The last thing she heard was Zach's low voice,

"Keep an eye on her. I'll go update Kalen."The room fell silent, the only sound was Liora's gentle breath.

Kalen came out of his room, all fixed and composed like his usual self. His face was calm and expressionless, like he wasn't chained in an underground room all bartered and weak hours ago. It was like nothing happened...

Kalen's eyes swept the hallway, his gaze lingering on Zach, who stood few steps away from the door, his expression thoughtful.

"What's the situation?" he asked, his voice low and even. Zach sighed, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in Kalen's composed demeanor.

"Liora's awake. She's asking questions."Kalen's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to gleam with a hint of interest.

"And the others?"He knew his brothers must be freaking out.

"Kai's pacing like a caged tiger, Ryan's worried sick, and Liora's... Liora's Liora," Zach replied, a small smile playing on his lips. Kalen nodded, his face still a mask of calm.

"I'll go see her."Zach raised an eyebrow.

"You sure that's a good idea? She saw... stuff." Kalen's eyes flickered, a hint of a warning in their depths.

"I'm fine, Zach. I won't scare her."The two men locked gazes, an unspoken understanding passing between them. Then, Kalen turned and walked away, his movements smooth and controlled, like a well-oiled machine.

Liora's eyes open again and this time Kai was sitting next to her. Before she could pull her up to sit properly...... Ellen attacked her with a tight hug

Liora's eyes widened in surprise as Ellen's arms wrapped around her like a vice.

"Oof, Ells!" she gasped, laughing. "Easy, I'm not made of steel!"Ellen buried her face in Liora's shoulder, her voice muffled.

"we were so so worried about you, Li! Don't ever scare us like that again!, unless you want your three bodyguards to burn down the world "Liora giggled at her words.

"Guess someone's happy you're awake, sis."Kai chuckled, grinning at the sight of Ellen's fierce hug.

"I'm fine, Ells. Promise."Liora said and hugged Ellen back, her eyes shining with amusement. Ellen pulled back, her eyes red-rimmed but her smile bright.

"What... what happened? Are you ready to tell me what is going on now ?"Liora's expression sobered, memories of the attack flooding back. Kai's grin faded, his eyes serious. They all glance at each other..... They don't know if they should tell her or not

The door to Liora's room swung open, interrupting them, and Kalen stepped inside, his eyes locking onto hers. For a moment, they just stared at each other.

Liora's gaze was curious, searching, as if she was trying to figure out a puzzle. Kalen's face remained expressionless, but his eyes... his eyes seemed to hold a hint of something. Something that made Liora's heart skip a beat.

Zach walked up to her and gave her a small smile. He glanced at his brothers before sighing.

"Li...." he called a bit nervous. "There is something you should know about us" Liora frown in confusion. She has never seen Zach this nervous before.

"What is it?" she asked even though her mind was racing with a lot of questions.

Zach took a deep breath, his eyes darting between his brothers before landing back on Liora.

"We're...not exactly normal," he said, his voice low and hesitant. "My brothers and I, we have...abilities. Special ones." He paused, gauging her reaction. Liora's frown deepened, but she didn't look scared, just intrigued.

"What kind of abilities?" she asked, her curiosity piqued .

"we... We're vampires..... Rhine and Ellen are witches" Liora stared at him blankly for a while,before bursting out laughing. Liora's laughter echoed through the air, a mix of amusement and disbelief.

"Vampires? Witches?" she repeated, wiping tears from her eyes. "Zach, what's going on? Is this some kind of joke?"Liora stared at Zach, her eyes frozen in shock, her laughter dying abruptly. She looked like she'd seen a ghost, her face pale and her mouth hanging open. The silence stretched for a beat, then two, before she suddenly burst out laughing again, louder this time.

"Hah! Vampires? Witches? Zach, you're crazy!" she said, doubling over, tears streaming down her face.

Zach's expression remained serious, his eyes locked on hers, unblinking. Ryan and Ellen stepped forward, their faces mirroring Zach's solemnity. Liora's laughter slowly died down as she took in their expressions.

"Wait...you're serious?" she whispered, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and fear. Zach nodded, his voice came low and steady he didn't want to startle her.

"Li... Calm down, we're not gonna hurt you, okay?" Zach said softly, taking a step closer, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "We're not the bad guys, I promise. We just...exist, like humans do. We just have...extra stuff."Liora's eyes were wild, darting between the brothers, her mind racing.

"But...but vampires and witches aren't real," she whispered, her voice shaking. "They're just made-up creatures in stories...in myths..."Liora was so shocked

"Myths are just stories people tell about things they don't understand, Liora."Rhine spoke up, his voice gentle. Kai's smooth voice cut in,

"And we're very real, pumpkin. Not to the world, but we are." He stepped forward, his eyes locked on Liora's. her expression still dazed.

"Wh...why are you telling me now?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
