Chapter 13

‎As Agnus began working while Isabelle and Ella spoke. Her phone rang, she took it and saw the caller ID was Damian. She picked

‎"Hey Damian. Missing me already?" She teased

‎"You know I am" His voice said. She giggled.

‎"Also I'm going to pick Misha up and was wondering if you want to come along" He added

‎"Come along and then meet your parents?" She asked and the line was silent, she knew she was right and was waiting for him to speak.

‎He cleared his throat, his voice sounding gruffy "Uh, yes".

‎"Why? We only just started dating and what will you tell Misha?" She asked, she noticed how Isabelle and Ella were now paying attention to her phone conversation, their conversation completely forgotten.

‎"I know what I will tell Misha but my parents...ever since Misha was around, they've wanted to see her mum but I could never tell them that her mother was someone who just up and left, so I never did and made excuses" He sighed over the phone.

‎"So you're going to lie to them? Does that sound like the right thing to do, Damian?" She asked, she knew what was going through his head and didn't want to accept it and he knew that.

‎"Agnus, you don't know my dad. If I had told him I had no wife, he would have disowned me, he'd say I'm a disgrace and I just couldn't, I wasn't ready to loose my parents or the company Agnus, please understand" He pleaded. A part of her wanted to help him but she felt it wouldn't end well, I mean what would they think of her, being misha's mother and then left out for five good years. It wouldn't end well, She just knew it.

‎"No,Damian. I'm sure if you tell them the truth, they'll understand and this way they won't loose their trust in you if they later find out from someone else" She said. No answer from the other end for a moment before he said

‎"I'll think about it. You're still coming though, right?" He asked

‎"Yeah, for support. I'll come but if you lie, I'll tell them" She said in a tone that said no arguments and he smiled on the other end, not that she could see it and replied

‎"Yes ma'am" in a teasing tone.

‎Once the call ended, she put her phone down and that was when Ella asked

‎"So what happened?"

‎"He's trying to lie to his parents about me being misha's mother and I feel like if something goes wrong, I'll take the fall and I don't feel like lying will help anyone" She briefly explained.

‎"It is true, lying solves nothing but if he truly is Damian Marley, then his parents are the rich and they hold themselves in high standards. Strick people too from rumors" Ella said.

‎"Even more reason for all of this not to blow up in my face. Where would he say I've been for the last five years? Out? And I left my child. I'd look like a gold digger" Agnus said

‎"It's true" Isabelle said

‎"Then it's a good thing you shut down his idea. That would have been a foolish thing to do" Ella said bluntly

‎"That was harsh" Isabelle said

‎"But true" Isabelle added.

‎"I just hope he listens and doesn't do the foolish thing" Agnus said

‎"For your sake, let's hope" Ella said.

‎Then Agnus received a text, she took her phone and saw it was from Damian. He'd texted her time to meet him which was an hour from now and also said he'd be taking her advice to which she smiled and texted him that she'll meet him in an hour and that she loves him. She received a reply instantly, like he'd been waiting. He texted back saying he loved her more, She didn't reply but she was sure her smile got bigger.

‎"Soo..safe to assume he just agreed to your advice and apologized and said something loving" Ella said. Agnus dropped her phone and nodded.

‎"How do you always do that?" Isabelle asked "You always assume and get it right"

‎"I'm just good at reading people, Isa" Ella's response was simple and told Isa that she wouldn't answer any more questions.

‎"Hmph. I'll find out one day" Isabelle said, accepting defeat for now while Agnus chuckled

‎"Your bond with one another is strong. I always wanted siblings" Agnus said

‎"Well, now you have two sisters" Isabelle said and sat beside Agnus, linking her arm with hers. Agnus smiled, they really are great friends and she was glad they'd given her another chance to be their friend. They're people who she felt would never betray her.
