Second chance

‎Agnus was 15 when reality struck and pulled her out of her dream world. Matilda had been agnus friend since they were both 5. They had a strong friendship and agnus believed nothing and no one could get between them, that is until Damien walked into their lives. They'd been 10 and Damien had been a new student. Since he'd first walked in, agnus had a crush on him. He was kind, brilliant and cute and Matilda knew so three months after agnus's 15th birthday. You wouldn't believe her shock when she saw Matilda kissing Damien and he was kissing her back. That is where our story begins ‎ ‎Agnus blinked back tears and marched up to them ‎"I can't believe you Matilda" Agnus yelled. They broke apart, Damien looked shocked/startled while Matilda just grinned and she wasn't even trying to hide it. "How could you?!" Agnus asked ‎"How could I what? Act while you were still in dream town" Matilda said smugly ‎"You knew I had a crush on him and yet you... I thought we were best friends, yet you go behind my back and do this" Agnus said ‎"I've always had a crush on Damien. You kept fantasizing, what's wrong with me being bold?" Matilda asked in a not so friendly way ‎"You are a terrible friend, a backstabber, a-a snake!" Agnus yelled, she wanted to hurt Matilda the same way but Matilda just glared at her ‎"I grew up, being friends with a shy, low life like you was affecting me. What's wrong with kissing a guy I like?" Matilda asked. ‎"Nothing but you knew and you never once told me that you had a crush on him" Agnus pointed out ‎"You were just naive. I'm way out of your league agnus and don't you forget it. Our friendship meant nothing to me,I just...used you" Matilda confessed with a smirk. She knew she'd won as agnus eyes widened and she took a step back. ‎"Why?" Agnus asked, her voice so quiet you could hardly hear it but they did. Matilda just had a cocky look on her face, with a wide smirk ‎"You wanna know why, well because you always act like you're perfect, like you can't make mistakes, you parents love each other and they love you! I hate you agnus!" Matilda screamed ‎"Well thank you for telling me coz now I know to never give my all for friends like you. I thought we were best friends but I guess you didn't value me or my friendship. Good riddance, I hope to never see you again" Agnus said, anger and betrayal in her eyes but Matilda didn't appear moved, she just said ‎"Good luck with that". Agnus turned and ran. She returned home, crying into her pillow. Her parents watched her, concern in their eyes. ‎"Agnus, sweetie, won't you tell us what happened?" Her mother,Mila, asked ‎"What's there to know. Matilda just threw out friendship away like it was trash and kissed the boy i like" Agnus vented, sniffing ‎"Is it that Damien boy?" Mila asked. Agnus nodded, Mila turned to her husband who nodded "You know," She began and placed a hand on her daughters back "Your father and I have been talking but we didn't know how to tell you. Your father got a promotion and he has two days to decide whether to take the promotion or not" Mila explained and agnus sniffed again and spoke, her voice clearer "He should take the promotion, I never want to see Matilda ever again" She said. ‎"Going through a broken friendship is hard, I know but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try one last time" Mila said, trying to advice her daughter but agnus had other thoughts and she made it known "No mum. Matilda made it very clear that she hates me, she said so and I just want to leave here". ‎"If you say so but it'll take a week or two to arrange it all" For the first time since they'd enter her room, she raised her head from her pillow. ‎"What does this promotion mean for us?" Agnus asked ‎"It means a bigger house, more money and he's being promoted to manage am entire company" Mila answered. Agnus faced her mum, her eyes wide with surprise. ‎"What?" Agnus asked ‎"It's true" Her father, Thomas, spoke for the first time since he'd entered. ‎"That is huge, you should totally take it dad" Agnus encouraged ‎"I will now" Thomas stated with a smile ‎"So you okay?" Mila asked and agnus faced her mum ‎"I will be but giving your all into friendships with people who use you is the worst feeling ever but I'll be fine" She said with certainty. ‎"If you say so" Mila didn't press further ‎"I know so and congrats again dad" Agnus said ‎"Thanks sweetie" Thomas smiled ‎Two weeks later, they relocated. She felt at ease now that Matilda wasn't tormenting her, she made agnus last two weeks terrible and Damien never did anything, he just stood there, laughing along whenever Matilda humiliated her. Agnus told herself never to trust people blindly ever again but our story doesn't end there. ‎Hope you all love it. I'm new here
