Chapter 4: My New Found Home

1706 Words
Willow's Point of View A long, firm, massive hand caressed my slender waist. It was enough for him to extend his hand to pull my body over him until I could feel his hot breath on my neck. Ethan, my boyfriend, turns out to be clinging to me again. "Ready?" he solemnly gushes between his kisses on my neck. "They might be waiting for us. Stop working now, love." I hummed. "Do you think they would love the egg pie I made instead of the pasta they want?" "Connor and Carter weren't picky eaters. They will love it as they love you, baby." I hastily allocated myself to another location, taking all the pasta I cooked into the tray I had prepared. Going home to the packhouse with Ethan is one of the moments I frequently anticipate each day. Whenever he's done with his meetings, Ethan often stops by the small restaurant I have to come home with. I lost counting days since the last time I left the pack until the days became years. I hadn't gotten home since then, knowing my father wouldn't be pleased to see me. Not even my family could stand against his words. That's why I was forced to go rogue despite being pregnant. Ethan held my hands as we took our time together, walking at the packhouse. As to my expectations, two cute little pups ran toward where we were; getting the plastic bag, I was holding and seeing how the twins sniffed it made Ethan and I chuckle. "Mommy, you're here!" Carter exclaimed, wanting a hug for me. They run back to us. I took Carter, and Ethan carried Connor. Crimson East Regiment pack has been our home for the last five years. I can still vividly remember how I ran through the woods that night; stinging feet were all I've got with no food and drinks to satisfy my thirst and hunger. The memories from the past kept lingering in my mind. But luckily, Ethan and his pack were there to save me. Alpha Ethan Pierce has simultaneously become my best friend, boyfriend, and Alpha. He saved me in the middle of the dark, eerie forest, stray cats, and all sorts of elements I'm afraid of. He took me in and treated me with human decency, as no one has ever done. There was respect, care, and adoration in his silver-blue eyes. Ethan's mate died, and since then, he has chosen to celibate. His pack seeks their luna and looks forward to me stepping up as one, yet I have doubts. We all know being a Luna is a heavy duty a strong she-wolf must fulfill, but upon learning I have none, I was left with anxiety and multiple drawbacks. "Did you miss me? Have you been good?" I muttered with solace, caressing my son's hair. Connor grinned at us. "Hmm, beta Reid took us out! He taught us how to write too, Mommy! I think I want to go to school already!" Ethan extended his hand and then caressed Connor's back. "You are still four, Connor. You will go to school once you turn five." I chuckled. "But beta Reid said he went to school when he was four! Why can't we, Ethan?" My pups told me how much they wanted to attend school, and I just couldn't decide. They are still my babies, and knowing how strong and aggressive they are at that particular age, the twins might only harm their classmates, which I am afraid of. "Ask mommy, darling. That's not a question Ethan could answer." Ethan stated as we strode toward the table where the pasta I bought was. Connor and Carter glanced at me. "When, Mommy?" Carter repeated the questions. "Once you already know how to write and read, darling. Mommy will teach you the basics first. Are we clear?" Despite Connor grinning, I could see Carter wrinkling his nose as he always does whenever he doesn't want anything, but instead of saying it out, he just wouldn't. I let my children eat. I even apologized I couldn't make the egg pie they sought due to a lack of ingredients. Seeing how my children enjoyed the pasta put a slight twitch in my lips. "This is so good, Mommy! I want to have this again next time." Connor asserted. "Me too," Carter said more frigidly than his brother. There were massive differences between Carter and Connor. Carter is the complete opposite of jolly, sweet, and bubbly Connor. Despite being a kid and only four, he tends to have no reaction, whilst Connor always wears a smile on his face. I was just staring and watching my beautiful kids eat their dinner. It was when I felt Ethan behind me, embracing me with a touch of desire burning deep within him. "Babe…" I muttered when his hand began caressing my hips, his hands traveling almost to my valleys right in front of the kids. "It's not bedtime yet!" I remind him. He hummed. "I'm sorry. I just missed you." "But we see each other every day." I chuckled, cupping his cheeks before putting a smack on his lips. Ethan wet his lips as his burning eyes scream desire. "I can't wait to own and mark you. Don't you think we're wasting a lot of time?" I bit my lower lip as I clung my arms around his neck, quite speechless due to his question, but I still concealed it with a hasty and bold move so he wouldn't know I couldn't retort back. I stared at his handsome face. His features are breathtaking. Damn. Lucky me, I guess? Ethan is the epitome of a perfect guy for me. He is the Alpha of his own pack, a true leader, has one word, and most importantly, he gives the love I had never felt before, especially to my children, whom he treated as his over the past years I was with him. I can't talk s**t about Ethan. Indeed, he was a good man. There is no reason not to marry him, but there is a string that keeps on pulling me away from that decision. "When do you want us to marry then?" I earnestly inquired, wetting my plump rosy lips. "How about in a month? We'll prepare everything according to your preference, Willow. I won't indulge with the designs, interiors, the theme, and the place where it will happen. All I want is to marry you…." he muttered firmly, kissing my hand, which gave me so many butterflies in my stomach. A slight twitch crept on my lips. "We'll marry in a month, then." Being engaged with Ethan for six months is enough waiting time for us not to bond. I mean, I was rejected, and his mate died. We are perfectly made for each other regardless of our status here. I know having a wolf is essential. Some didn't want our relationship, but they couldn't do anything about it, as Ethan told his pack his firm and stoic words. Indeed, he was a great man. Nonetheless, Ethan leans forward, cupping my cheeks for a soft and tender kiss. We forgot that our children existed, which made Ethan and I stop taking each other's breath when Connor and Carter took us away from each other. "Don't kiss mommy!" Carter spat angrily, almost wanting to punch Ethan's thighs, yet he chuckled, understanding what the kids wanted. "Hmmm! Ethan!" Connor groaned. My twins are protective and possessive. They don't like to see Ethan and me kissing, but they love Ethan so much. He stood up as their father and did the job instead of that i***t man who got me pregnant and took the title despite having no blood connection with me. I might be unfortunate, but I was lucky to have Ethan by my side. "There you are," Amanda stated. Amanda is Ethan's sister. She is here for a quick visit. She is nice to me and to my children. Actually, everyone in the Crimson East Regiment is friendly to us. Being in this pack gave me hope and confidence I never had. "I prepared dinner, but I think these two little pups would prepare your pasta over my roasted chicken! Argh!" She grunted, looking at my twins. Hearing the chicken word made Connor and Carter run toward Amanda, making her chuckle. "Give me chicken, Amanda!" "I want chicken!" "Alright, sweethearts. Amanda will give you the thigh part! Just don't tell Ethan, alright?" She teased. I helped my dearest Amanda to prepare dinner for us. She was lovely, and the packhouse was filled with laughter again. After her mate cheated on her, Amanda decided to visit and stay with us in Ethan's humble abode until she never returned to her mate's pack. My children liked her a lot, and I really think Reid and Amanda would be a great couple, but I don't think Ethan would allow her only sister to be paired in his beta. While we were chatting together in the middle of dinner, my eyes glanced at my phone beside my table when Ethan noticed it too. "It seemed important. Why don't you answer it?" I took a deep breath and spoke, "It's just my brother Giovanni." "It might be something important, Willow. You should answer it." There was a colossal restraint I felt before I listened to their assertions. I excused myself and went outside to answer Giovanni's call. He has been calling me since yesterday, and all I did was ignore it. We haven't seen each other for five years. We sometimes talk on the phone, but they are forbidden to see me as if I was a traitor who betrayed my pack. "Gio," I muttered as the cold breeze oozed. "Willow," his tone had a taint of solemnity and trouble. "Mother is ill. She's getting weak and refuses every medicine we give her unless you show up. It would be great to reunite again. What do you think?" There was considerable silence between us. Giovanni didn't go through the bush, and his statement made me completely speechless. Giovanni noticed I wasn't speaking, so he said. "It's our mother, Willow. You're the only one that could persuade her."
