Conrad’s Point of View
“Your Majesty,” Willow curtsied.
Willow bestowed a warm greeting that left me reverential. I clenched my fist seeing her auburn wavy hair remained the same. However, her body physiques changed a lot. She grew as a matured and fine woman. Willow’s transition over the past few years completely left me dumbfounded, especially those curves that her dress was eating her body tight.
My heart began to race fast when my eyes first landed on her. She remained angelic, those pure smiles she possessed… oh damn. How long has it been?
Thumped. Thumped. Thumped. That’s all I could hear from my heart that betrayed me.
“It’s really you,” I muttered stoically. Emotionless as it should. I tried to keep myself cool as possible but
She didn’t give me a simple nor a faint smile. The wind oozed as her hair crumbled in her face. Willow took the strands off her face with her porcelain skin and whilst she did that, everything around me stopped. She’s no longer the teenager I rejected, instead, she was more than a woman…
“So you’re really back?” Morgana’s bitter tone snapped me back to reality.
Willow heaved a sigh. “Not for good. Just visiting my mother. She’s sick.” Willow articulates that led me to disappointment.
“Uh-huh. I heard it's because of you,” Morgana asserted. “I wonder what pushed you to come back when you are the root of your mother’s discomfort.” She didn’t bother limiting herself when she said that.
Goddess. This woman is really annoying. I shouldn’t have let her be with me for today visiting the Luna of Crystal Leav Pack.
“It’s a pleasure to see you both together again. Your relationship remains strong. How lucky,” Willow changed the topic without a hint of bitterness.
I was about to deny it when Morgana spoke instead of me. “Yes. We’ve been engaged after years of being in a relationship! It’s pretty amusing, right?”
Morgana’s telling the truth but half of it was lies. Morgana and I were never in a relationship. All of it was because of our agreement but when my father, the former Lycan King, saw Morgana’s potential, he abruptly wanted me to marry her after declaring I have no mate.
Morgana came from a powerful nearby pack and a daughter of an Alpha. My father wanted me to marry her but I didn’t even though he said all of these are just marriages for convenience.
“I see,” she muttered, which made my eyebrows arched. “If that’s the case then I’d like to leave now. I still have pending work to do and it would be better if I leave. Anyway, you should spend a lot of time with your fiance, King Conrad.”
There was a hint of hurt and disappointment in her tone when she left— yet I didn't let her completely get away from where we were standing by pausing Willow with my omnipotence.
"I am completely disappointed, Willow," I bitterly asserted. "First, you called me on a first name basis. Disrespecting my title and now you're leaving without my consent? Unbelievable." I hissed whilst biting my lower lip.
I saw how those little eyes rolled in the air that urged me to take a little step closer. Morgana was about to do the same yet I only gave her a glare before signing her to leave.
I don't need her right now anywhere near me. Morgana's appearance would just hinder the conversation I'll be having with Willow and I'm heavily bothered by it.
"Apologies for what I made, Your Majesty. I was just shocked…" Willow's soft voice curled and turned into a low one. "If I may excuse myself for the second time, I am hoping for your kind consideration to see my mother. It has been decades."
"No problem." I frigidly uttered.
The moment I dismissed Willow, it was when her eyes drifted at the guards inside. There was a huge car parked and it seems like it was the vehicle she used and dropped her by.
All the guards lurking around made their greetings by bowing while my eyes remained at Willow's bareback.
Fuck. My initial reaction today wasn't normal. It screams for longing which I haven't felt for a long time. As we passed the guards together, it was when she stopped and glanced at her behind where I was currently standing.
"Are you following me?" She sounded a little irritated whilst her eyebrows were arched.
I scoffed before craning my neck. "You're too delusional to accuse me of that. We're just taking the same way until we arrive at our destination. Stop assuming things, Willow. It's not funny and cringe especially when you do that." I affirmed blatantly.
Willow frequently talks back, but right now after the plain-speaking words I said, I expected her to fight back as what she has always been when her eyes went to my crown. She bit her lower lip before nodding her head.
"And of course, it has come to my knowledge about what happened to Luna. I am here to visit her as the King and pay respect." I mumbled solemnly as my heart continued to pound with those critical eyes of her.
We were near Luna's chamber as we stopped. Anyhow, there's a lot of things that kept coming back and forth in my mind. Questions that need an immediate answer made me want to stay a little longer as the curiosity I had for the past few years is making me unhinged.
Willow sighed. Those nonchalant stares are making my blood boil for no apparent reason. I don't like it when she gazes at me like this when she gawks at me with adoration back then. Her long silky hair flips each time she sees me, her cheeks turning red whenever we do small talks and makes her happy, and the unsolicited actions Willow has done for me back then haunts me now. Thinking that she's no longer the Willow I had known gave me mixed emotions I'm not sure I can stand upon.
"Are you staying here for good?"
Apparently, Willow shook her head gracefully. "No. I'll be leaving after."
I hate her. I still do and that won't change. Anyhow, the disappointments her answer gave me screams something that describes what I truly feel.
"You just came back. And now you're gonna leave after the talk with your mother?" I couldn't stop myself from directly asking.
Willow gave me a small nod with a decent yet frail smile. "Apologies, your majesty. I am here to see my mother and will leave as soon as she feels better. Hopefully, it will continue until she regains her energy. Other than that, I have no reason to stay."
The last words she uttered made my fist clenched. What does she mean without a reason to stay? She has her pack. Crystal Leav Pack is her home!
It first came to my attention that Willow was sent away after doing a heinous crime in which his brothers won't ever talk about it with me despite Giuseppe and Giovanni being my friends. Anyhow, I still admire their family. What happens inside their family, stays in the family— one thing that people tend not to do.
Nevertheless, this issue really caught my attention. I wonder what Willow has done from the past that his father gave her such punishment I know he wouldn't bestow.
"You might be thinking and wanting to tell me that it is my home. I know you, King Conrad. However, only werewolves and she-wolves are able to stay in a pack. I am wolf-less, and perhaps you didn't know my father sent me away years ago."
I was flabbergasted and at the same time, extremely bitter. She muttered those words nonchalantly, as if the fact of being wolf-less is just normal to her, not to mention how confident she was when she said his father sent her away.
This Willow… This Willow I am currently looking at is no longer the old girl I knew but completely the different person. She changed… and I freaking hate it.
I hate that she no longer stares at me with hella heart eyes and the small trembling she makes each time we're together. I f*****g hate it that she looks like Willow no longer have her feelings after being rejected on the day we last met.
"Did the crime you committed put someone else's life at stake?" I hopped in a situation I'm not used to.
"I believe such things shouldn't matter to you, your majesty. You're a busy person and have a lot of things to finish. I'm not taking away your time from you. If you could excuse me…" she mumbled before veering off and completely walking breezely toward her mother's chamber.
Seeing her bareback suddenly made the woman I had the ceremony night flashed back in my eyes. Damn. Why do I think that Willow and her are the same? Impossible and too immoral of you to think that way Conrad!
It took me a couple of minutes to let my steam off before proceeding. The hallway was empty, it was when I sighed heavily as I made my way toward Luna's chamber. I was about to knock when the door slightly opened and it was when I heard cute voices inside.
"Yes, Grandma! Mommy Willow gives us everything we need! She loves us dearly, granny!" I heard a boy say and as I peek, there are twins sitting on Willow's lap whilst she is hugging them.
Seeing her with kids made me astounded especially when Willow gave the twins a peck on their cheeks.
Willow… Willow has p-pups? Damn!
Anyhow, what astounded me the most was when the twins' eyes turned into a golden one. Only wolves with royal blood on it have the privilege to have a Gold eye color when they reach the right age to shift. As for these kids… I don't f*****g know what to say.
