“I, Alpha Kaelen of the Silver Fang Pack, reject you, Natalia, as my mate and future Luna. You are a shifted-less disgrace, and you do not deserve to stand by my side.”

Natalia’s heart shattered on the sacred Mate Ceremony. Publicly rejected and exiled by her childhood sweetheart, she was chased into the lethal Forbidden Forest, left to die in the freezing storm.

But fate had other plans.

Deep in the dark woods, she collided with Alpha Caleb of the Blood Moon Pack—the most ruthless, bloodthirsty Alpha on the continent, currently suffering from his terminal feral madness. Yet, the moment Natalia’s scent of fresh freesia and cold spring water hit his nose, Caleb's inner beast fell silent. Her blood was the only cure to his deadly curse.

“She is my mate now,” Caleb declared to the entire continent, locking his crimson eyes on Natalia. “Whoever touches her, touches my throat.”

As Kaelen’s pack faces downfall, Natalia’s dormant bloodline awakens, shifting her into the legendary divine white wolf—the True Luna of the moon goddess. Kaelen realizes his fatal mistake and begs for her return on his knees. But now, she belongs to his ultimate enemy, and she will make everyone who looked down on her bow in absolute submission.

The Mate Ceremony
The air atop the Sacred Moon Altar was thick with the scent of pine, copper, and raw anticipation. Tonight was the night of the Blood Moon, the rarest lunar event of the decade, and the night of the Silver Fang Pack’s sacred Mate Ceremony. Natalia stood at the very edge of the stone platform, her hands clasped tightly in front of her simple white dress. The wind whipped her silver-white hair across her face, but she barely felt the chill. Her eyes were fixed on the center of the altar, where the pack’s sacred fire crackled, casting dancing shadows over the gathered shifters. She could hear the whispers of the pack members gathered below the altar. "Why is she even up there? A shifted-less wolf standing on the Sacred Altar? What a joke." "She’s nineteen already and hasn’t shown a single sign of a wolf form. She’s nothing but a human stain on our bloodline." "If Alpha Kaelen accepts her as his Luna, our pack will become the laughingstock of the entire continent." Natalia bit her lower lip, forcing her eyes forward. She tuned out the mockery, holding onto the silver wolf-fang pendant resting against her collarbone. It was the only thing her mother had left her. “Believe in your blood, Natalia,” her mother’s dying whisper echoed in her mind. “The moon never makes mistakes.” She believed her mother. And more than that, she believed in Kaelen. They had grown up together. Before Kaelen's father passed away and Kaelen inherited the Alpha title, he had promised her, under this very sky, that no matter what, she would be his Luna. The crowd suddenly fell silent as the heavy oak doors of the packhouse swung open. Alpha Kaelen walked out. He was magnificent. His golden hair caught the moonlight, and his broad shoulders carried the weight of the Alpha mantle with effortless grace. Beside him walked Chloe, the daughter of the pack's strongest Beta. Chloe was beautiful, her dark fur sleek and powerful when she shifted, and tonight she wore a crimson dress that clung to her curves, a smug smile playing on her lips. Natalia’s heart leaped. She took a step forward, her lavender eyes shining with hope. "Kaelen..." she whispered. Kaelen ascended the stone steps of the altar. But he didn't look at Natalia. His gaze was cold, distant, and completely fixed on the crowd below. When he finally turned to Natalia, there was no warmth in his blue eyes. Only a deep, calculating disgust. Chloe stepped up beside him, sliding her hand familiarly into Kaelen's arm. Kaelen did not push her away. Instead, he pulled her closer, his gaze sweeping over Natalia like she was a piece of trash blocking his path. "Members of the Silver Fang Pack," Kaelen's voice boomed, carrying the heavy, commanding resonance of an Alpha. The crowd held its breath. "Tonight, under the gaze of the Blood Moon, I must make a decision for the future and strength of our pack." He finally looked directly at Natalia. The coldness in his eyes made her breath catch. "A pack is only as strong as its Luna," Kaelen declared, his voice echoing off the stone pillars. "A Luna must be a warrior, a protector, and a bearer of strong blood. She must lead the pack into battle and birth the next generation of Alphas." He paused, letting the silence stretch. Natalia felt a cold dread clawing at her throat. "Natalia," Kaelen said, his voice dropping all pretense of affection. "You are nineteen. You have no wolf. You cannot shift, you cannot fight, and you cannot bear the strong heirs this pack needs. You are a shifted-less disgrace." A murmur of agreement rippled through the crowd. Natalia took a trembling step back, her voice shaking. "Kaelen... we swore an oath. You promised me..." "Oaths are made for shifters, not human cripples," Chloe cut in, her voice dripping with mock pity. "Did you really think a powerful Alpha like Kaelen would bind his soul to a useless mute? Look at yourself, Natalia. You don't even have a scent. You're nothing." "Chloe is right," Kaelen said, his expression hardening. He raised his hand, his Alpha aura flaring. The invisible weight of his authority pressed down on Natalia, forcing her to her knees on the cold stone. "I, Alpha Kaelen of the Silver Fang Pack," he announced, his voice ringing with absolute finality, "hereby reject you, Natalia, as my mate and future Luna. Our bond is severed. Our contract is void." He reached out, his hand wrapping around the silver chain of the wolf-fang pendant at Natalia's neck. "No! Please, Kaelen, not this!" Natalia gasped, clawing at his hand. With a brutal yank, Kaelen shattered the chain. The sharp metal bit into her skin, leaving a thin trail of blood. He held the silver wolf-fang in his fist, his knuckles turning white, before squeezing. With a harsh c***k, the sacred token of their childhood promise crumbled into pieces, falling from his fingers like dust. "You are no longer a member of the Silver Fang Pack," Kaelen looked down at her, his voice devoid of any humanity. "You are exiled. If you are found within our borders by sunrise, you will be hunted down and killed as an intruder." "Kaelen, please! The Forbidden Forest... I won't survive the night in the storm!" Natalia pleaded, tears of humiliation finally spilling over her cheeks as she sat on the cold stone. "Then you should pray the beasts are quick," Chloe sneered, leaning down to whisper in Natalia's ear. "Or better yet, just freeze to death. It's the only useful thing a weakling like you can do." Kaelen turned his back on her, raising Chloe's hand to the sky. "I announce Chloe as the future Luna of the Silver Fang Pack!" The crowd erupted into cheers, their voices drowning out the sound of the approaching thunder. Natalia lay on the altar floor, her knees scraped and bleeding. No one looked at her. No one helped her. She crawled forward, her fingers scraping against the stone until she gathered the broken fragments of her mother's pendant, clutching them tightly in her bleeding palm. With the last remnants of her dignity, Natalia stood up. She did not look back at Kaelen or the cheering crowd. She turned toward the dark, ominous treeline of the Forbidden Forest, walking into the howling wind and the freezing rain.
