Chapter 10

GRAYSON

The meeting went smooth with only a few hitches. Celestine is a damn tough negotiator but diplomatic at the same time. She would address concerns thrown at her and present reasonable solutions. Before I know it, we were saying YES to almost all her terms, but don't get me wrong, none of her terms were ripping anybody off. But to be frank, this woman can get you to sign off your entire fortune if you're not too careful.

Finally, we adjourned. Les asked we go to the kitchen instead as she already had dinner prepared for the two of us.

"I hope you don't mind having burgers for dinner. Doris' burgers are my absolute favorite! It may take a while before I have this again..." She got choked up. 

Doris chimed in "Oh sweetheart, Don't worry. I'll have these overnighted to you whenever you want. Even if you're halfway around the world! Now, eat up. Alpha, I assume you want everything on yours?"

We ate heartily. No joke these are the best burgers I have tasted. "Damn, Ms. Doris! Let me buy the recipe I will build an empire out of this!" Doris blushed profusely.

"Stand in line! Doris, whatever he says, I will offer double!" She took a bite and moaned. It sounded Heavenly! The sound went straight to my groin. Damn!

We thanked Doris after dinner who shooed us away when Les and I offered to help her clean up.

"Meet you out front in 30 minutes? I can't wait...

I nervously waited for her outside. I kicked myself mentally for acting like a hormonal thirteen year old experiencing his first crush! Celestine has completely thrown me off of my game and I am letting her. 

I heard an engine approach and I whipped my head to see someone on a badass dirt bike coming my way. The rider stopped just right in front of me, and my breath was taken away when the rider turned out to be Celestine. 

"Baby, you be riding this?" It looks unsafe but I trust Les has done this countless times before.

"Are you expecting that I literally 'run' with you? So why don't you shift so I can meet your wolf before we go.. that is if he wants to meet me" for the first time since I have met her, Les looked a bit apprehensive.

"Les, of course my wolf is dying to meet you. We have been constantly battling for control whenever you're around. Are you sure you want to do this?" She just nodded, and there goes that pretty blush again.

She does not have to tell me twice. I begin shedding my clothes and she squeaked and quickly turned around. "I don't mind if you look, though"

"Just shift already!" With that, I shifted to my wolf, Drake and let him take control. Celestine must be so used to the cracks and snaps of bones rearranging that she knew exactly when to turn around. 

She gasped but smiled. Drake walked towards Celestine and started sniffing her. 

"Hello Drake! It's nice to finally meet you. You're so big and beautiful! I'm Celestine, apparently, I'm your mate" Drake started to wag his tale. Drake snuggled her shoulders and Celestine reached out to stroke the side of my face down to my neck.

"Look, I'm not sure how this happened, but I wanted to talk to you to say I'm sorry I do not have a wolf myself for you to bond with, I hope you don't mind.." She looked into Drake's eyes directly.

This is the most melodious, angelic voice I have ever heard. Big, bad, wolf Drake turned into pudding. He did not stand a chance!

"You're just jealous 'cause she likes me more than you" Drake was gloating.

"Okay Alpha, we're heading out." she said as she proceeded to pick up the clothes I discarded and stuffed them on her backpack.

"From here, there's a trail that leads to the forest. I have ridden that trail more than a hundred times. We stop at the end of the road that has a "No Entry" sign. Also, I need that you stay to my left at all times. If you go round too far right, you're fish food. Capiche?"        

I nodded. She made sure her gears are all secured, donned her helmet and started the engine.

We sped up through the forest. I concentrate on the sound of my paws on the earth and the steady hum of Celestine's bike. I would look over to see how beautiful she looked maneuvering the terrain. 

I found the stop sign first and waited for a few seconds for Selene. She took off her helmet and I was graced by her flushed, smiling face! "Grayson, this way!' We went past the sign and hiked the rest of the way. It was getting dark already.

She stopped after a few meters in front of a tree, waved and gave a thumbs up signal. After a few seconds, lighted bollards raised from the ground that outlined the edge of the cliff.

"Here you go. You can shift back." Celestine handed me my clothes and she turned around.

I shifted back and put on my pants. "This view is amazing, Les!"

She looked at me and I haven't had my shirt on yet. I can feel her eyes checking me out and I can tell her breath hitched and her pulse raised.

"Colin and I used to come here a lot, but now, he's too busy for Alpha duties to take me, and I'm not allowed to come here by myself. I would come here to think, with an escort, of course, but they only stay back there by the sign." Les said as she handed me a bottle of water, then she took a swig on her own. She led me to a concrete bench near the cliff and patted the seat beside her. "Now we talk".
