1 _Where is the baby? where is she? tell me! _She is my daughter, not yours! _You are not going to do to her the same things you did to me, I'm going to take her away from you and all your madness. _And how are you going to do that?_ she launched a smirk at her daughter_ Are you gonna take her with you to clean hotel rooms and serve tables. _Its way better than selling your own body like you do and want to do with her!_ Joalin shouted at her mother. At a simple look no one would think they were mother and daughter because while Zoella was an Hispanic woman with very accentuated Latin features, Joalin was blonde, tall, fair skinned and shaped like an all European woman. She was the result of a love story that didn't end well and her mother always blamed her for that, hating her for resembling her father in every single aspect. _You have two seconds to tell me where she is before I call the police on you!_ she threatened her mother. _Are you really going to call the police on your own mother? Joalin went to the room she shared with her baby sister and picked several pieces of clothes of both, she took the money she hided under her bed and left without a goodbye. _Ya verás que te tengo preparado pinche perra!_ shouted Zoella following her and stoping at the deck watching as her daughter got away. The hotel wasn't the best place to take her sister to, but at least it was safe. She could keep an eye on her while working. All the workers used the back entrance to get to hotel, none of them was allowed to use the main entrance along the guests. And in this case it was kind of helpful, the least people saw Maria, the better. She rushed to the locker room and changed her outfit the fastest she could, picked her cleaning cart and made her sister sit in the small space left next to the laundry bags. _Hey Amber!_ she called for her friend and co-worker before leaving the locker room_ Can we talk later? _Yeah, but I really need to go right now... I'm late as f**k_ she said rushing outside de the hallway. _Yeah me too_ she said picking her hair in a bow_ I can't afford been fired. _You ok?_ Amber asked looking at her ale face and then at Maria. _Yeah... Just the usual_ she picked her cheeks to bring a little color in_ It ain't the first time I bring her to work and I think it won't be the last! _Don’t let Chad see you, let's go_ she warned referring to their manager. Thanks to Amber, Joalin got a job as housekeeper at one of the most luxurious and expensive hotels from New York, the amount they charge for a room was ridiculous compared to what they paid their employees. She worked her shift along six other women, each had to clean at least three floors each one filled with five rooms, but each room was actually bigger than her whole block, it was a full house size. _Ok Maria, you already know how it's done_ she kneeled to the baby height and whispered softly_ Stay here, be quiet and after I finish cleaning the rooms we can go home, ok?_ she asked and the little girl nodded her head quietly. Maria behaved herself until they got to Joalin's third floor, her patience level decreased drastically as she felt hungry. _Im hungry JoJo_ she complained. _I know, I'm hungry too but I have to finish work first then we can go get some burgers_ she smiled at girl. She went through the rooms and thanked God that most of them were empty, it was really a struggle to try to work having snob and entitled costumers trying to take her to bed. _Last room Maria, then we are free to go, I'm really exhausted_ she said to the little girl who was distracted playing in her sister's phone. _Im hungry_ Said the little girl again but she decided to ignore and knocked the door instead. _Housekeeping!_ she waited a few seconds and before she could knock again the door was opened by a dark haired Olympus God_ Sorry to disturb sir..._ she said quickly_ I came to clean to room, but I can leave if it's inconvenient. _No, no... It's okay!_ he replied stunned by her simple beauty_ Come in, we were having some breakfast that's why it took me a few minutes to answer the door. _Thank you sir, I'll be as brief as I can_ she answered cutting him off. It wasn't a good idea to give much space to male guests. Joalin started cleaning the room quickly having in mind her and her sister's hunger. She was washing the bathroom but stopped when she heard a childish giggle and ran to the leaving room. _Oh my God_ She whispered fearful of the situation she caught herself into. Maria was sitting in the table along two man eating and laughing with them, one of them was the one who opened the door but the other one was unknown to her eyes_ I'm so sorry Sir, she won't bother you again_ she tried to take the babygirl in her arms but she threw a tantrum. _Leave her!_ she heard the unknown man's voice and froze. He had a deep piercing voice and it felt like it scratched her soul_ Let her eat. _She will be okay Sir, I'm really sorry to disturb, I'm almost done_ she tried to apologize_ Come Maria_ tried to get her again. _I said Leave her_ the man looked at her and Joaline felt like every single bit of air in her lungs left her to die_ I'm enjoying her company_ If the first guy was good-looking then this one was beauty itself. _I really don't wanna have any trouble. _We understand that, but it really is okay_ the first man stood up to calm her_ I'm Lucas and this is my brother Thomas, we understand that you just want to do your job and leave... But please trust me, finish cleaning and then you can take your daughter, but let her eat_ he said in a very calm and trustworthy tone that made her believe in every thing he said. _Thank you Sir... And she is my sister_ she cleared the confusion_ I'll finish and then we'll leave. And it took about thirty minutes to clean the whole place, she was used to cleaning but their room was very big and they got things all over the place. _ I'm done_ Joalin said putting her tools back in the cart_ Maria say goodbye to your friends!_ she smiled at the little girl and Maria said goodbye to them giving each one a hug. _Bye_ she said with her little voice. _We really enjoyed her company_ Lucas said getting close to Joalin_ Can you bring her back tomorrow? _I don't work tomorrow, at least not here_ she grabbed the girl on her arms. _You don't look like sisters_ she heard the temptatious voice of Thomas. _I hear that a lot, our mom has a free spirit should I say_ somehow it was hard for her to look at him_ We have different fathers... We have to go now. And she was gone. Although work was finished that day, Joalin still had to wait for Amber.
