Chapter Three
Kai's POV
"When will you be back? I really want to see you for an important and urgent discussion."
My heart raced hearing her voice and I almost froze.
"Is it that urgent? I have to wrap up some bus-"
"It's fine if you're busy, I'll just wait until you're back."
I could feel the disappointment in her tone which made me sad and infuriated.
"I'll be back today, wait for me in my office Crystal." I said, convincingly.
"Thank you!"
I could feel her excitement which made me smile satisfactorily, the thought of seeing her face made me happy on its own and I ordered my P.A to cancel or shift all my remaining appointments and business deals and to prepare my private jet as I needed to head back to New York, the flight took an hour and an entourage awaited me at the airport.
Under my command, they drove straight to G&K Company and I briskly walked into the building, afraid of keeping the woman whom I'd burn down the whole world for at her command, waiting. But I was met with the scene of Hazel slapping Crystal so hard that she fell at the impact, I strode straight to Hazel and before she could say a word, I slapped her across the face.
I rushed towards Crystal who was now crying profusely and helped her up, I placed my jacket on her and tried to soothe her tears, she threw herself in my embrace and cried bitterly into my shoulders which made my heart broke and my fist clenched in anger. I turned to face a bewildered Hazel.
"How dare you lay your filthy hands on her!" I thundered, my body shaking.
"Please don't yell at her, she's my elder sister and she just lost her cool." Crystal begged, naively.
My eyes were bloodshot as I stared at Hazel with a murderous look and intent of murder, she couldn't say a word but rather stood there, dazzled. I signaled for my P.A to take good care of Crystal while I walked up to Hazel.
"Why did you push her that hard, aren't you ashamed of yourself?" I hissed.
She didn't say a word so I grabbed her shoulders and shook her violently, I could take all form of insults but not anyone touching my woman.
"She slapped me first." Hazel muttered, I looked at Crystal and she shook her head to deny the allegations.
Tears rolled down Hazel's cheeks as she stared at me compassionately, her eyes begging for mercy but I wasn't deceived by those, instead I snickered.
"You know, I've given you everything you ever wanted ever since we got married, a life of your own and luxury. I never raised my voice at you nor treated you unfairly but this is how you pay me? Trying to inflict an unjust treatment on your own sister!?"
"I swear I didn't do anything." She cried.
"Shut up! You maliciously tried to harm her because you know I'm in love with her and we're still only married because of her, you're pained no one would ever love and you're a worthless piece of trash which is why your own Father will sell you out to anyone who has the money but you are not contented with that, you need to also ruin her life!" I said, accusingly.
She shook her head and sobbed quietly.
"That's not true." She whispered.
I snickered and ram my fingers through my hair, I was tired of her, tired of having to wake up to seeing her face, tired of having to live with her though my heart belonged to someone else, she reached out and held my hands, trying to plead with me but Crystal let out a yelp of pain and I shoved Hazel aside, rushing towards Crystal and ensuring that she was fine.
"I didn't do anything to her." Hazel yelled, out of desperation.
I scoffed, infuriated that she stuck to her lies and slapped her hard across the face, the look on her face was that of agony, pain and betrayal but I couldn't care less. Though it's been over three months we got married I realized at that point that I couldn't live without my woman, without my Crystal and it was time I got rid of the baggage that held me down for what seems like years.
"Tell him Crystal, tell him you provoked and slapped me!" Hazel screamed, and Crystal was visibly shaken.
"I married you only because it was a mistake of identity in the first place and I saw it as a means to get closer to the woman I truly love, you were innocent and kind and I thought maybe I'd give us a chance, maybe you'd rid me of my illicit feeling for her but seeing you this way makes me realize you're nothing but a monster and I cannot continue living with a person like that. Henceforth; I severe all ties with you." I announced, calmly.
She fell to the ground and began to chuckled sadistically, seeing the ID card around her neck, I remembered she was a staff in the company as well.
"I'm leaving you and breaking off this marriage, I don't want to set eyes on you ever again." I added.
She suddenly held on to my leg and burst into a fresh peak of tears.
"No, you can't do this to me, let's talk about this. This isn't big of an issue, please." She begged, desperately, all sense of dignity down the drain.
I scoffed.
"Please." Crystal pleased on her behalf. I inhaled sharply.
"Kneel before Crystal and beg her, then I'll reconsider." I stated.
There was a look of disbelief in her eyes but countered with the decisive expression plastered on mine, she reluctantly crawled towards Crystal and held her leg.
"Please." She begged.
I turned around to catch my breath and almost jumped up in fright as I heard a loud scream, I turned to see Hazel's hands on Crystal's stomach while the latter yelled out in pain. I lost my temper and forcefully dragged Hazel away from crystal, I dragged her by her hair and ignited her cries, kicks and screams and only stopped when I was out of the building, I yanked away from me and she fell hard on the ground.
She crawled back towards me, trying to touch me but I kicked her away.
"Leave, you're fired and never come back ever!" I said, authoritatively.
"Please, don't push me away, where would I go? Who would I run to, please don't do this to me." She pleaded, she scrambled towards Crystal and tried to touch her.
"Crystal, tell him I'm sorry. I accept all the charges made against me, just don't leave me, please."
I spat on her and snickered loudly, I turned to face Crystal and gently held her hands.
"Leta go in, you need to rest." I said, calmly.
She smiled weakly at me and reluctantly turned to leave.
"Kai! I love you." Hazel confessed but I scoffed.
"No, you don't." I replied dismissively and turned to leave, giving orders to the guards to get rid of her from the premises.
I walked in proudly, holding the one who makes my heart flutter. I was relieved of a burden and heaved a sigh of relief that finally, my life was going the way I intended it.
