THE SECOND ENCOUNTER

“At my apartment alley, actually I did more than encounter I join in the fight, it’s a long story which I don’t want to get into now.” I said with a sigh.

“Since you’ve experience a fight with them and make it out alive, why don’t we test fate again by helping those ladies out.

We move closer to the scene and I notice there were two females being attack, I have no idea why those people keep attacking females but whatever it is its starting to piss me off.”

“Is that not Sia?” I look towards Maddox.

“Who is Sia.”

“The lady I met tonight at the club, with Maddox confused look I went on to elaborate, she fought those guys that was thrown out of the club tonight.”

“Oh, I think it’s her, what is she doing here, she really knows how to look for trouble, come on let’s go.”

We move closer and saw a lady tied with a rope on the ground, she was struggling to get the rope loose while Sia and another girl I’ve not seen before fight off the attackers, Maddox step in on the fight and I move in the direction of the girl, I quickly loose the rope and help her to stand.

“Thank you.” she said

“You are welcome, can you run to the direction of the parking lot over there, we will join you shortly.

“No way in hell am running, I wasn’t born a coward, they would not have been able to tie me if they have not been more than seven, now that you guys are here there is a fighting chance and am not going to back down. Those bastard attack me in my home and brought me here, if not for the red hair over there I have no idea what they would have done to me.”

“Alright, let’s wait in the parking lot together, I don’t think you are in any shape to fight there are bruises all over your body, it must have been a difficult journey for you and them.”

“Of course it was, there was no way I was going without a fight.”

“Alright, come on, let’s go.”

“And where did you think you are going?”

We turn to find one of the attackers blocking our way.

“What make any of you think you can get out of here alive?”

“I guess the same thing that make you think you will be leaving here alive, I said with a furious look,” I was starting to get pissed.

“Feisty, I like that, don’t worry I will beat you to submission then have my way with you.”

“It’s good to dream you know, real life can be pretty boring,” I responded him.

With a laugh he attacked but I was already prepared for the attack so he missed the punch he threw at me and I land him one of mine in his throat, I was so furious that I attack him with so much strength that the next thing I know I’ve twist his neck.

“Well if this isn’t shocking,” The girl uttered with a surprise

“I can be scary when am furious and he isn’t a good person or human anyway so it’s no big deal.”

“Do you think he is dead.”

“Actually I don’t care let’s get out of here.” As we take a few step we were block by another guy.

“This is the longest night ever,” I said.

“Both of you come with me quietly and you won’t have to die.”

“Tell that to your friend over there with the twisted neck” the girl respond.

“Fine, you want to do it the hard way, I don’t min....

Before he can finish his sentence I give him a kick in his groin then rush it with another kick on his face before he can react, I move closer and twist one of his hand hard, and put pressure on it with my leg enough that I hear the bone shift, then I follow it with a blow to his throat he fell face down and cough in pain.

“You really can handle yourself,” Maddox said, “you weren’t joking when you said that.”

“I wasn’t.” facing toward the girl beside me he introduced himself to her.

“Hello there, am Maddox.”

“Hi, am Sasha.”

“Nice to meet you Sasha, are you okay?”

“Yeah am fine, looking around she asked, where are we?”

“Le bron club” Maddox replied.

“No I mean which city am I right now.”

“What do you mean city, are you not from here?”

“Where is “here?”

“New York city.”

With panic eyes she starts to fidget and pace around, murmuring to herself

“Are you okay?” Maddox move closer to her

“Am not, apparently, I was moved from my state. Am from Kansas, and now you are telling me am in New York.”

“can you tell us what happen.”

“I was taken from my home this morning or maybe yesterday morning am not actually sure being drugged through the drive and all make me lost track of time.”

“You were drugged? Sia asked with a shock expression, I should have cut off their neck”

“If not for her, I don’t know where they would have taken me.” She said pointing to the new girl.

“It nothing I just happen to pass by”

“And am forever grateful for that, thanks again for taking the courage to help me, am Sasha by the way, it’s nice to meet you..

“Cassandra, she replied.”

“I’ll introduce myself first since we fought together I think it will be good to call each other by name instead of description, I’m Maddox Sinclair.”

“I’m Sia Williams” said the lady I met at the club

I introduce myself next, “I’m Anastasia Leon.”

“I’m Sasha potter” said the kidn*pped girl

“And I’m Cassandra gilbert”

“Good, now that that’s out of the way, do you have any idea why you might have been kidn*pped Sasha.” Maddox ask her

“I would love to know the reason myself,” she responded.

“Maybe we should ask one of the guys we beat up” I gave my opinion

“That’s a good idea” Cassandra respond.

Maddox pick one of the guy up and ask the reason why Sasha was kidn*pped, the guy just grin and I can feel my anger rising again, what’s wrong with this people why do they think everything situation can be smirk at.

“You think am going to tell you, not a chance,” the guy replied.

“Either you tell us or I cut off your head choose one” Sia demanded.

“Then I choose option two” the guy replied her

“What! We all exclaimed, the next thing we know the guy engulf in fire and turn to ash right in front of our eyes, so does the others, I was so shocked that I couldn’t notice the rest speaking to me at first.

“You have got to be kidding me, this is insane why would they do something like that” Cassandra asked.

“Looks like this is a serious situation, because I don’t know why else they would kill themselves.” Sia uttered.

“This is going to be a very long night” Maddox whispered

“You didn’t say,” Sasha replied, “I got beaten and kidn*pped from my home and dragged across the state without knowing why,” with a sigh she said,

“Am exhausted right now and I have no money or where to stay, am so screwed.”

“Why don’t you come with me,” we turn in the direction of the voice to find a man looking at us, he was putting on a blue suit with a hand in his pocket, he looks confidence and seems at ease.

“Oh and I mean all of you excluding you of course,” he said to Maddox, you won’t be of any use and the truth is you are not wanted or needed.”

“This night keeps getting weirder, is that wings on his back” I asked no one in particular.

“And who are you? Maddox asked.

“Someone who is going to take these four woman to wake up his master who has been asleep for years or should I say centuries.”

“How can someone this good looking be demented” Sasha asked

“Ladies get behind me.” Maddox uttered urgently.

“Not happening, we are not going to leave you to fight him alone and its us he wants not you.” I told him.

“She’s right its them I want not you hybrid, I can smell your magic from miles away, you are strong but not strong enough to defeat me, do you think it’s wise to die only for me to have my ways with them.”

“Who is your master and why are you taking females to wake him up? Maddox asked.

“Actually those females are nothing but a means to an end, though some of them were very useful but it’s this four I actually want, I’ve been waiting for years for the key that will wake my master, even with the clues I have I was still unable to find you four not until you showed up,” he said pointing at me.

“The minute you step in on this soil the b*****e holding my master shook and I felt your presence even the clues became clear.”

“Why then didn’t you try to kidnap her, why me?” Sasha asked.

“I did, only those fools I send fail, they keep saying the minute they got to her apartment there were guardians already waiting for them and ever since then there seems to be one or two of them hanging around her, though she doesn’t seem to be aware of this, which is why I follow the next clue that led us to Kansas where you stay, and seeing you four together now am delighted I didn’t waste time sending my men to fetch her, but you, because you are the one who brought them all here for me.”

“And you are not taking them anywhere, if I have to I will protect them with my life.” Maddox responded.

“That’s so honorable of you but there is absolutely nothing you can do young man; I wish Scott was here though.”

“How did you know my brother name” Maddox asked furiously

“Oh, don’t be surprise I know a lot of things, like how your people are cursed and how one of these female can break that curse.”

“What do you mean.”

“I can as well just tell you everything since you are not going to make it out alive anyway. Listen carefully to the story that you’ve always wonder about but didn’t get the answer to.

It happened centuries ago, your ancestors were greedily searching for powers that will make them superior to other supernatural communities because they want to appoint themselves as king over the supernatural world, in their quest for power they came to my master, then I was just a young man learning the art of magic.

They make a deal with my master in exchange, they would give us half of their wealth which they accept, but as time goes on and as new enemies who don’t want to be govern by your people rebel against them, your ancestors became anxious and came for more powers but this time my master ask for female mates within their clan since my people lack females and it’s difficult for us to find ourselves a female, at first your ancestors reject but later on they accept the terms and brought female mates in exchange for more powers.

But your ancestors try to act smart since they are powerful mage themselves, they try to get their females back after two years which result to a conflict between my master and your ancestors since it goes against the term of the agreement but your ancestors attack our people and kill some of the females who are already with child which we retaliate to by destroying half of your people.

When your ancestors see that they can’t handle the situation alone they make a pact with the most powerful out of the other supernatural communities to stop their chase for dominating the supernatural world if they help them destroy my master and our people, they almost succeeded but my master and a few of us escape the attack, when they catch up to us my master ask us to hide while he face them alone, seeing they can’t overpower my master they bind him with a cursed chain that is made with the blood of your people, the scale of a dragon, feather of a thunder bird and blood of a griffin, when they realize that binding him is not enough to stop him they bind his power and cast him into an alternate dimension where he is powerless and have been asleep for centuries, but all this didn’t happen before my master curse them.

Since all this happen because of a female he cursed the mage who are also now shifters due to the power they now possess from ever finding their true mate and for the dragons, their female will never shift, the thunder bird females will die at a young age and the griffin female will forever remain in their animal form.”

“That’s one crazy master you have” Cassandra said.

“It’s a befitting curse for their betrayer” he replied hotly.

“Why curse the dragon, griffin and thunder bird, they are just trying to help people from getting dominated by the mage” Sasha stated.

“As long as they took part in the attack on my people they are our enemies.”

“And this curse has been going on for centuries.” I asked surprise by the whole scenario.

“Not centuries, the curse didn’t take place not until some few years later, the whole thing happened three hundred and sixty years ago.”

“And they find no way to defeat this curse?”

“Of course they do, which is why the curse didn’t take full effect immediately, at first just a few females here and there are affected by the curse, they tried everything even went to consult another caster for help but all that can be done by then is delaying the process of the curse until it takes a full hold someday, which it does and all the people involved in the curse lay their life down to shorten the time the curse is supposed to last which is a life time.”

“This is bizarre, so how many years was the curse shorten to?” I ask curiously.

“No one knows, all the caster said was:

She also adds that the curse will break upon the worthy descendant of each families and if the cursed male fails to break the curse at that time the curse will forever remain.”

“That’s twisted, why give them an ultimatum.” Sia murmur.

“Because the bloodline of my master was use in the sacrificial process to break the curse, which link the life of my master to the mates that will break the curse.”

“I still don’t understand what that have to do with these ladies.” Maddox questioned.

“Everything, the blood of these females can awaken my master, that is, if the curse has not been broken by each mates and I don’t see how that will happen if I drained them of every last blood.”

With a scoff Sia replied “so you want to kill us to wake your crazy master, then what, what do you plan to do once he is awake.”

“Sweetheart it’s a shame you will miss the party; cause am going to make every last supernatural beg for mercy while we destroy them.”

“So your plan is revenge and world domination” I asked.

“You are smart, I like that but not enough for me to keep you alive, now that I have explain myself why don’t you come with me voluntarily, you don’t want me to force you, because I don’t have a problem with breaking few of your bones to get what I want from you and I don’t think any of you have a chance against me.”

“You have a point, that’s why we must bid you adios for now” Maddox said

Before I can ask what he meant the world spin around and we are somewhere else.

“With a shock expression Sasha face Maddox, “what the hell just happen.”

“He just teleported us from the club.” Sia replied her.

“Looks like someone is accustom to this.” surprised that she knew what he just did Maddox give Sia a skeptic look.

“I’ve seen a lot of things in my line of work” she replied scathingly.

“And what kind of job is that?” Maddox asked.

“It’s you don’t need to know type” she said.

“Are you by chance a supernatural police, because some humans work for the supernatural police.”

“Yeah” she said dismissively.

“Which district do you work for.”

“As much as I would like for this discussion to go on but am tired and have nowhere to stay, any ideas.” Sasha ask the group.

“You can stay with me.” I replied.

“I don’t think it’s safe for any of you to stay alone not when a century old creature wants you.” Maddox reason, “I think it would be best for you to stay at my place for the time being till me know what course of action to take.”

“Why should we stay with you, is it because you are a mage?” Cassandra asked.

“Yes and because you will be safe there, it’s a private estate where my people stay, they will protect you till we find a solution.”

“You want us to hide in an estate full of innocent people whose life will be endanger because of us? I don’t think so and as you heard earlier there are guardians keeping an eye on me for unknown reason, so I think it’s safe for me to go back to my place and anyone is welcome there.”

“Don’t worry about me either I can keep myself safe.” Sia respond.

“So can I.” Cassandra uttered.

“Seriously ladies are you not scared, ok you know what, give me your contact and home address if anything happen call me, I will get to you immediately.”

We all exchange our home address and contact except for Sasha who doesn’t have her phone with her.

“So are you coming with me?” I ask her.

“Yeah.” she replied.

“Where are we?” I ask Maddox.

“Not far from the club, I will teleport you all to your places since it’s too early to get a cab.”

“I gave him an eye roll, him and that line.”
