Thursday morning arrived with cool air and clear skies stretching over Westwood High.
As students filled the hallways before first period, Noah stood at his locker looking at the reading list Lily had given him.
The paper was beginning to show signs of use.
The corners were slightly bent.
A few folds had softened from being opened so often.
Yet he still carried it everywhere.
A moment later, Lily arrived.
“Good morning.”
“Morning.”
She noticed the list in his hand immediately.
“You're looking at that again.”
“I've made my decision.”
Her eyes brightened.
“You finally picked one?”
He nodded.
“The one about the siblings who rebuild their grandfather's bookstore.”
A smile appeared on her face.
“That one is wonderful.”
“I figured if you recommended it, it was worth trying.”
