AUTHOR’S POV: SIX MONTHS LATER – MAYOR AUGUSTUS SILA’S OFFICE: “Solarians Losing Trust In The Authorities” “Murdered Bella Nicholas Dead For Six Months” “Solaris Seeks Walking Death” “Murderer in the streets” Read the newspapers. Everyone panicked, including the media, people, and law enforcement. Solarians agitated, demanding justice for the innocent soul that had died. "Dammit!" exclaims the young mayor, crushing the newspaper in his hands. The threat prowling his beloved city did not allow him to rest, putting his position in jeopardy. "I cannot believe it. My city...my people..." he raged, throwing the newspaper on his desk and rolling up his sleeves. "You need to calm down." stated his best friend "How am I supposed to relax?" Since six months, a f*cking killer has been stalking the dark alleys of Solaris. SIX FU*CKING MONTHS OF PAIN, LIAM. My people and my seat are both under risk, and you expect me to be calm. "WHO DARE YOU?" He yelled, staring his mate dead in the eyes, who returned his stare but said nothing. He was aware that his pal was concerned and upset. "Did your boys got any lead?" Augustus questioned, eventually sinking into his chair behind the enormous mahogany desk. "No. We tried everything and looked in every godforsaken part of the city. But no such luck." Liam responded. His lads worked day and night, looking in every direction they could think of. They were led back to the beginning spot by their intense search. Even with the last victim's sister in a coma, a dearth of eyewitnesses, and six months and 17 killings later, the authorities couldn't accomplish anything. "How -" Augustus opened his lips to say something but was cut short as his office doors were knocked. "Come in!" The mayor announced, "Sir, Chief Investigating Officer Mr. Harry Bolton is here." The elderly lady stated as she entered the office. "Place him in the meeting room. I'll be there soon." Augustus responded. Mrs. Shah has been working at the office since Augustus' Father's time. Her commitment, hard work, and honesty were always valued and respected over the years. She observed Mr. Silas the senior functioning as mayor and Mr. Silas the younger taking over the Mayor's office. To the Silas, she was more like a family member than a normal employee. "Certainly, Sir." The secretary nodded and walked away. "Instruct your lads to work harder. I need that jerk in any circumstance.!" Augustus demanded as soon as the office doors closed. "I'll see what I can do." Liam replied "You don't have any plans for the evening, Right?" Mayor inquired, rolling down his sleeves, dragging his strong arms through his blue-black suit jacket, and frantically raking his hands over his brown hair. "I do, in fact. That reminds me, tell Mr. Bolton to keep his men away from the city's west side tonight." Liam announced himself getting up and headed towards the door. "Hey wait for me!" Augustus exclaimed as he followed his friend to the lift. "I'm going to a concert with Kiara tonight. You should come with us." Augustus proposed "Who's Kiara?" Liam queried, his brow furrowed. "She is my girlfriend." Augustus stated as he buttoned the front of his jacket. "For how long?" Liam inquired, taking a whiff. "We like each other. She enjoys my status and poer while I love her companionship, and I adore her." Augustus said, displaying his playboy antics. "You said that same thing about the girl from the nightclub last week." Liam replied. "I'm serious this time." Augustus expressed his intentions, but it appeared that he was more persuading himself than his mate. "So, will you go with us?" Augustus did it again. "No, thank you." Liam responded by pressing the lift button. "You are a boring workaholic person." Augustus made a joke. Despite the fact that the young man was the mayor of the city, a position that needs seriousness, Augustus Silas was an anomaly. He had two sides to him, like a coin, an honest, disciplined, and obedient mayor on one side and a playboy wealthy kid on the other. Augustus has maintained a good social standing by following in his father's footsteps. Unlike his closest friend, who also followed in his father's footsteps, his profession gave him the reputation as a dangerous guy, from whom people warn each other to keep away. The uncrowned genuine King of the City. Augusts and Liam met in high school, the latter a year senior to the former, and their relationship became deeper with the passage of time. Augustus never questioned Liam's career since he thought Liam's fate was predetermined the minute he was born. That was the true foundation of their relationship. For Liam, he was a brother he never had, and his conviction was to eradicate everything that disturbed the calm of his closest friend. Augustus, with his funny and amusing techniques, was the ideal complement for Liam's sombre and closed-off attitude. "Augustus." Liam forewarned. "Fine." Augustus submitting to his mate. The lift chimed and the stainless steel doors slid open. "Let me know if you find anything." Augustus remarked previously, and Liam nodded and entered the lift. "haah…" Liam let out a sigh. This murder case was weighing heavily on his friend, and he needed to act quickly. Two black SUVs parked in front of Liam the instant he came out of the building. He took a seat in the rear of the first SUV. "To the warehouse Peter." Liam gave the instruction to his driver, who nodded and drove the car along the road.
