AS SOON AS I WAS at my desk, I summoned Janet and as many members of the team as were in the building, and we spent the morning brainstorming our current convenience store murders problem. By the end of the day, I had my team and half a dozen detectives from other teams hard at work on it. I spent some time summing things up with the captain and went home feeling that I’d done all that could be done at that point.
Things dragged along until Thursday, when we got a break. A detective on one of the teams that worked mostly drug related offenses got a call from one of his informants, which ultimately led to two arrests being made.
