Anna woke up to an empty house, the silence deafening. Her mom's tears still lingered in the air, a painful reminder of her dad's departure. A hollow ache gnawed at her chest, making it hard to breathe.
She wandered to the kitchen, searching for answers. The note on the counter seemed like a cruel joke.
"Happy birthday, Anna. I'm sorry. I need some time. -Dad"
Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she read the words, her heart sinking. Why did he leave? Was it something she did? The questions swirled in her mind like a toxic storm.
Anna felt lost, abandoned, and scared. Her dad's departure had shattered her sense of security, leaving her feeling vulnerable and alone.
She slumped against the counter, her legs trembling. The kitchen, once filled with warmth and laughter, now felt cold and hollow.
Susan entered, her eyes puffy from crying. "Hey, sweetie. I made breakfast."
Anna forced a weak smile, trying to hide her pain. "Thanks, Mom."
But as they sat down to eat, Anna's emotions boiled over. Tears streamed down her face, and she couldn't stop them.
"Why did he leave, Mom?" Anna sobbed, her voice cracking.
Susan's face contorted in anguish. "I don't know, baby. He didn't say."
Anna felt a wave of fear wash over her. What if he never came back? What if she was stuck with this emptiness forever?
As they finished breakfast, Anna retreated to her room, feeling suffocated by her emotions.
She lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling utterly alone.
No friends to turn to.
No one to share her pain.
Just her and her shattered dreams.
The silence was oppressive, a heavy weight crushing her chest.
Anna's thoughts spiraled downward:
What's wrong with me?
Why did Dad leave?
Is it my fault?
The questions haunted her, echoing through her mind like a cruel mantra.
As the day dragged on, Anna's loneliness deepened. She felt disconnected from the world, like she was drowning in a sea of despair.
She wandered around her room, searching for distraction.
But everything reminded her of her dad.
His absence was a palpable ache.
Anna collapsed onto her bed, overwhelmed by grief.
Tears streamed down her face, soaking her pillow.
As night fell, Anna lay in the darkness, feeling consumed by fear and pain.
Would she ever find happiness again?
Or was she doomed to suffer alone?.
