Paper Anniversary By Kim Davis “Why did you check your bag?” my father asks as we wait at the baggage claim carousel for my flight from Chicago to San Diego. “They made me,” I tell him. “The overhead bins filled up before I boarded, so I had to check my bag at the gate.” He shakes his head. “These freaking airlines. They let you bring a bag onto the flight and then they don’t give you enough space to store it.
