I sit quietly as he drives. He pulls into a parking lot and turns off the car. “Do not get out until I come open your door.” He says to me. I nod my head. I watch him walk in front of the car then open my door. He extends his hand to me. I take it and he helps me out of the car. Then he places my hand in the crook of his arm. I see a long line at the door. “How are we getting in?” “I made reservations for us. We just walk inside.” He says walking past everyone. We get inside and he walks up to the desk. “Can I help you sir?” The guy behind it asks. “LeMaster party please.” He says. Making the guy look up. “Right this way sir.” He says leading us into the restaurant. We follow him to a table with people sitting already. “About time you get here.” A girl says. “Mom wouldn’t let anyone order until you got here. Oh is this her?” “Aurora meet my family. The sassy one is my little sister Serenity, next to her in my mom Arlene, my dad Leod Sr is next to mom. My brother Gerold and last one is Serenity’s husband Geoff.” “Nice to meet everyone.” I say. I see him pull out a chair and motion me to sit. I slide into the chair and he pushes it in like I weigh nothing. “So when is the big day?” His sister asks. “We are starting to plan everything tomorrow. Not going to rush her.” He says. “Is everyone ready to order?” A woman asks behind me. “We just arrived give us a moment to look at the menu please.” He says not looking at her. He hands me a menu and I take a look at it. My eyes go wide. Twenty dollars for a bowl of Mac-n-cheese. “Just order what you want. And let me know when you’re ready to order.” He says. I look at the rest of the menu. “Ready.” I say he nods his head. “We are ready now.” He says to her. “Ladies first mom.” “We will share a bottle of red wine. I would like the chicken breast with garlic potatoes, and broccoli.” “Me next,” his sister says. “I want the pork chops and butter corn.” She says then looks at me. “I would like roasted chicken and garlic potatoes, with a sprite.” I say. The waitress looks at him. “Dad’s next.” He says. “I want the Peking duck meal with corn and a side salad.” “I want the house steak medium rare, garlic pasta and an order of garlic bread.” “And for you sir?” The waitress asks putting her hand on his shoulder. I look at it and she looks at me. “Can I help you?” I go to say something to her. “You can take your hand off my shoulder.” He says to her. “I’ll have the Peking duck macaroni and cheese and garlic pasta.” He says. When she stands there looking at me he adds, “that’s all.” She turns and walks away. “Where are the bathrooms?” I ask. “I will show you the way there.” His sister says getting up. I get up and follow her there. “Can you find your way back?” She asks me. I nod my head and go inside. I lock the door and do my business then wash my hands. As I open the door I am pushed backwards. I look up and see the waitress. “Excuse me I need to return to the table.” I say to her, trying to go past, but she blocks my path. “I don’t know who you are, but Leod is mine.” She says to me. I roll my eyes at her. And try to go past her again. This time she grabs my arm. “I advise you unhandled me.” I tell her. “You want to know who I am? I am his fiencé.” I tell her. She drops my arm and I walk past her only to have her grab my hair. I scream in pain. She starts to pull me back to her when Leo appears in front of us. “Take your hands off her.” He commands. She does as told. “Now I want the manager at my table when we get back to it.” He tells her l, pulling me into the men’s room. “Are you okay?” He asks me looking me over for any bruises. He starts to massage my scalp. I nod my head. “Let’s get back to the table.” He opens the door and leads me out. We get back to the table, I see the waitress and a man standing there. “Excuse me.” I say to them as they are blocking my chair. She glares at me, the man looks at Leo. “If you don’t mind my fiancé would like to sit down.” He says they both move. He pulls out my chair and pushes it back in as I sit. Then he sits next to me. “Are you okay dear?” His mom asks. “We heard you scream out here.” “She attacked me.” I say pointing at the waitress. I see the manager’s face lose its color. “My employee would never unprovoked.” He says. She smirks at me. “I have the entire conversation on my phone. It’s set to record when it detects I fall or stumble.” I say, pulling my phone out of the clutch I have. I watch her face drain of color. And stop the recording. I hit play and it plays the entire conversation between us. “As you clearly heard I did nothing to provoke her.” I say after it ends. “I want the girl fired.” Leo says. “Can she just finish the night? It’s a busy night, and I am already short for f staff.” The manager says. “Now. She attacked a member of my family. That is unacceptable.” His dad says. “Trina go get your things and leave.” The manager says. I look over at Leo and see he is typing on his phone. He sees me looking at him. “Sorry business related text.” He says then looks at his mom. “I know, no more phone at dinner.” He says as someone brings out my sprite and their wine. He goes to ask me something but decides not to. The rest of dinner is served and we eat chatting amongst ourselves. “Now then I will settle the bill tonight.” He says picking up a black booklet. I follow him up to the front and stand slightly behind him while he pays for everything. “Let’s head home.” He says placing my hand on his arm walking out to the car.
