t’s beautiful,’ said Maria. ‘In fact it’s incredible. I can’t hear any people, noises, or traffic.’
‘We’re nearly three miles off the road and it’s only a local access road so not much traffic; and even if there was, no human sounds make it up to the house,’ Heather said with a rather proud smile. ‘There’s no place like it, on the edge of the wilderness but still only eight miles from a town, even if only a small one.’
‘Wow,’ was all Maria could say as she stared through the window-wall at the canyon falling away and the golden, snow-capped mountains jutting high in the morning sun.
‘It’s the best way to see the view,’ said Heather.
‘Huh?’
‘Jim designed this so that, when you arrive at the back of the house you can’t see the view and then you enter through the corridor
