Changing of the winds

The loud banging in my ears, eyes slowly fluttering awake, And voices from all over ring the not only my head but outside my door. Looking at my clock it's an hour before training. Something is wrong as I jump out of bed knocking so random girl on floor I hooked up with last night. Grabbing my pants made them almost up before my best friend and dad came in the room. Of course the girl has no clue what is going on or why she ended up on the floor in nothing but my blankets. The look of disappointment in my father's face sets in quickly. But rather than scolding me for having some random girl in my bed this time he was on a mission. Quickly son we need to move. As we ran out the door I was kinda hoping the girl would be gone when I got back. Of course my father said what I was thinking out loud and my best friend Chris started laughing. What's going on dad why is everyone up in a big yelling at a crazy hour anyways. Well son while you were getting your rocks off with some random girl. We have been at the hospital with your uncle and aunt. Something happened to uncle? As we sat in the car no words were said. I'm still lost in confusion. Dad is not saying much but I can feel a heavy loss in his silence. Once there I knew something big happened. I can hear my uncle Kenny talking to my aunt Mindi. But nothing is stopping the pain and crying radiating from the room they are in. I feel my uncle's pain as well. As we walked into the room I my cousin KC was on the bed. No life in his body. My uncle is looking up from my aunt once we enter the room. The sadness filling the room was so heavy I didn't want to walk any closer into the room. Alexander his voice rings not only in room but in our heads across the whole pack. I Alpha Kenneth Johnson, announced to whole pack today Alexander James Johnson will be the next Alpha of the Morning wood pack. Sadly to inform the rest of our pack my son Kevin most of you call him KC has passed away this morning. I'm still in shock as I heard all pack members howling in pain at loss of KC. Confused at what just happened Im not alpha I'm beta. What hell happened last night at that party where we attacked was it an accident. Who has the answers I need. Once we left the hospital my father started in with his demands from me. You're the future Alpha now son I need you start acting like one. No more sleeping around with random girls time to get ready to look for your mate She is around here somewhere we need to make sure no other girls are trying to claim their child is yours. Chris decided he chimed in with so keep it in your pants man. Leave some ladies for me. Of course my dad then told him not to be like me and sleep around seeing as he most likely will be in the next beta. The next few days were harder to handle. Setting up the funeral for KC making sure I extended invites to other packs to pay their respects. As future Alpha it's my duty now to step in for my Uncle who's unable to do so right now. So far all packs have reached back to me on coming. All but one I have feeling they won't dude to fact they claim KC killed himself. Some packs look at that as a sign of weakness. So we will see at the end of the day if they show. As I look up at the mirror one last time I made sure I looked the part as the soon to be Alpha. I jumped 10 feet it felt like. Chris started talking. You look fine it's just another day. Only you're in the spotlight and not KC. Well I mean you both are away. It's time for his soul to rest and your story to begin. On that note dude you have some out of towners coming in we need to be downstairs like in less than 5 minutes to greet everyone. Your Uncle is waiting outside. As we make our way to last step next to my uncle. He gave me a once over seems like he approves. Finally got yourself together for a change nephew. I know he is trying to help me in time of need. I have every reason not to talk today and No one would blink and eye at me for it. But you on the other hand are not so lucky.
