HMA Chapter 1

Sakari POV

"Just let me come with you..."

I pulled out of the hug and shook my head at him, "I can't let you do that Lukas, you belong here."

He shook his head, "I belong with you."

I closed my eyes, "You belong with your mate..."

I opened my eyes to see that his eyes had now changed to red, a sign that he was angry.

"What do you mean by that exactly? Don't you love me?" He asked intimately.

I looked at him shocked, "Of course I love you! I've known you my whole life, how could you even doubt my love for you? It's just that no matter how much we love each other, we don't belong together, we belong with our mates."

He closed his eyes for a second before opening them to reveal his normal eye colour.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, it's just that, you're leaving and I'm really going to miss you," he says in a low tone.

I smiled through my tears and leaned forward to give him a light kiss, "I'm going to miss you too Lukas."

"Sakari, time to go!" My dad shouted from the car.

"Coming!"

I gave him one last kiss before hugging Renee, Sam and Damon for the last time.

"I'll miss you guys..."

"We'll miss you too, be sure to send me some pictures of some hot guys okay?"

I smiled, "Okay Renee."

I gave them a last hug before getting in the car. I waved to them through the window and I blew Lukas a kiss which he caught in his hand and I just started crying even more.

When they were no longer in eye view, I sat back on the seat and cried silently, I'm literally leaving my whole life behind, my friends, my school, my boyfriend... well, ex boyfriend now and I can't do anything about it. I sat in the backseat of the car and cried myself to sleep.

*1 hour later*

"Kari?"

I felt something touch my shoulder but I just groaned and pushed it away, I was too tired.

"Sakari?"

"What?" I said groggily.

"We're here."

I opened my eyes only to be blinded by the sun so I closed them again. "Daddy?"

"Yes princess?"

"Carry mine."

He chuckled, "You're 18 Sakari."

"But I'm tired," I said in a child-like voice.

"Okay fine."

My dad may be old... ish but he is definitely not weak and seeing as he's a wolf, he has more strength. He lifted me up out of the car and I kept my eyes closed, I wasn't ready to adjust to the brightness just yet.

"Can she not walk?"

My eyes immediately snapped open when I heard that sexy voice and I looked up to also see a sexy guy, actually no, that isn't the right word to use, let's just say that I felt like jumping him right there and then.

"Oh she can walk, she's just lazy," my dad said with a tinge of laughter in his voice.

"You can put me down now daddy..."

He let me get down and I straightened out my clothes before turning to face the god-like beauty again.

"Don't mind my daughter here, I'm Luther Cascella and I think you've already met my wife Theresa and my son Shakir?"

The god nodded, "I have..."

"Okay and finally, this is Sakari."

"I'm guessing that her and Shakir are twins?"

My dad nodded, "They are."

"Well, I'm Darius, the alpha of the shadow valley pack."

He shook my dads hand and when he shook mine I felt a surge of electricity run through my veins and I automatically knew why... Darius is my mate.

I realised that we were still holding hands so I abruptly removed my hand from his.

"Uhhh, yeah, nice to meet you Darius."

My dad looked at the two of us confused before speaking again, "I would iust like to tell you how grateful I am for taking us into your pack..."

"It's my pleasure, their will be a ceremony tomorrow to formally honour and declare you a member of the pack."

"That's very nice of you..."

He smiled and I nearly fainted at how he looked, it was just so mesmerising, the way he showed his pearly white teeth, "Sakari?"

I snapped out of it and looked around to see that my dad was gone, was I looking at him that long?

"Where's my dad?"

"Gone to find his room."

"Okay, well, I'll be off too then..."

I turned around to walk off when he grabbed my wrist andI felt the same electric current pass through me just like before.

"Can you feel that?" He whispered into my ear and I nodded.

"We're mates," I said breathlessly.

"Let's get things clear, I don't want a mate, I was perfectly happy with my life how it was and you are not going to ruin that, understand me?"

I realised what he said and yanked my wrist out of his grip and turned to face him.

"Whether you like it or not we are mates and you may be able to control everyone else but not me," I walked closer to him. "I'll be the one controlling you."

I patted his cheek and turned away to walk up the stairs and I could've sworn I heard a growl when I did but I didn't take any notice. If Darius thinks he's going to control me, he's got another thing coming.

Darius POV

She turned away and walked up the stairs and I let out a low growl. She's so feisty and that makes me want her more. Why couldn't she have been ugly or something? She just had to be a heart stopper didn't she?

I partly meant what I said when I said that I didn't want a mate. Half of me wants a mate, someone to make me whole, someone to hold at night, someone to call mine and only mine but the other half doesn't because I know everything is going to get complicated and I don't want that, "Darius?"

I pushed the thoughts of my mate into the back of my mind and turned to look at Rhylie.

"Yes?"

"Have you met the new family?"

I nodded, "I have and it was very interesting."

He rose and eyebrow at me, "Interesting how?"

I sighed, "I found my mate."

"Really now? What's her name?"

"Sakari..."

"Luther's daughter?"

"The very same."

"I passed her on the way down here and I have to say, she is sexy."

I let out a growl, "What did you say?"

"What? She's hot."

I was literally shaking with anger now, "She's mine!"

"Oh really? Because from what I saw, you rejected her."

That got me to calm down. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes until I knew that they were back to their normal colour.

"I did."

He looked at me confused, "Why would you do that? She's your mate."

"I don't want a mate."

He snorted, "Yeah right, you nearly ripped my head off because I said she was hot."

"Just keep your hands off of my mate!"

He placed a hand on my shoulder, "Calm down, I was joking, she's your mate not mine but you shouldn't be telling me this, she's practically s*x on legs to other guys."

"Not if I have anything to do with it."

I walked up the stairs to Sakari's room and just walked in to see her lying on the bed texting and I couldn't help my eyes from roaming over her body, I mean how could you not? She's beautiful.

"Don't you knock?"

"It's my house."

"Yeah but it's my room, you're such a guy!"

I chuckled, "I am a guy, if you haven't noticed by now."

She bit her bottom lip and looked down embarrassed and the next thing I knew I was on top of her, trapping her beneath me.

"Please don't do that."

My eyes were probably pitch black now because the way she bit her bottom lip just had me lusting over her, it was such a sexy gesture.

"I can't help it." She said shakily, "I do it every time l'm nervous or embarrassed."

She done it again and I let out a small moan which seemed to turn her on because her eyes started to go black as well. I leaned down and started pressing light kisses up her neck until I got to the corner of her mouth and I was waiting for her to stop me but she

never did, instead she grabbed my hair and brought my lips to hers, making me kiss her. I could feel the sparks flying when she kissed me and the electricity that ran through my whole body. She bit my bottom lip and I didn't hesitate to part my lips for her because I was eager to know what it felt like to have her tongue dance with mine and I wasn't disappointed. I knew I had to pull away so that's what I did and when she opened her eyes, they were pitch black, just like mine, well at least I know the feeling isn't one sided.

"Continue," She said seductively.

I closed my eyes, making them go back to normal before opening them again and seeing that her eyes were their normal colour as well but that didn't help anything because her eyes were still beautiful.

"I shouldn't have done that."

I looked at her confused and was about to ask why when her phone went off and I looked at the screen to see the name Lukas <3 and I started to get angry.

"Who's Lukas?"

"Nobody."

I moved off of the bed and stood up, glaring down at her. "He's obviously somebody! Why is their a heart next to his name?"

She sat up straight and glared back at me, "Don't you dare use that tone with me. if I'm correct. I could've sworn you rejected me no more than 10 minutes ago so don't judge me!"

"Just tell me who he is!"

"He's my boyfriend!"

"You are mine!"

She laughed humourlessly, "You didn't want me!"

"I don't care, you are my mate and there is no way on this earth that I am sharing you with another man!"

"It won't be sharing though because he'll have all of me."

I walked over to her and pinned her back down onto the bed, making sure to hold her wrists so that she couldn't hit me,

"He is not your mate, I am."

"He loves me like a mate which is more than what I can say about you."

I let go of my anger and my eyes went back to normal, "I refuse to love you."

I could see the hurt flash through her eyes and those words left my mouth but it was only for a split second,

"Good, it makes our lives much easier; now get the f**k off me."

My girl is a bad ass... wait, my girl?

Well, technically she is mine but now I'm not so sure, I rejected her and now she probably going to hate me.

"Don't hate me."

Those words left my mouth before I could take it back and she lookedbshocked for a moment but covered it up again.

"Too late..."

I sighed and let her wrists and before I could get up, she punched me in the face.

"That's for pinning me down you asshole."

If it was anyone else, I might have hit them back but she was my mate and I refuse to hurt her in any way. You already have' my wolf told me and I knew he was right. I hurt her bad. I stood up from the bed and turned to face her one last time.

"Sakari?"

"Goodbye alpha."

I winced at the finality in her voice and I knew nothing could stop her from hating me so I turned away and walked out of her room and going to mine. I decided to let my anger out a bit too early because as soon as I closed the door behind me I punched the wall, numerous times and by the end of it, their were more than dozens of holes in my wall, due to my werewolf strength and because I'm an alpha, I'm even stronger than the average wolf.

I heard a knock on my door, "Darius?"

"What?"

"Your dad wants to see you."

I literally ripped the door opened and stormed to my dad's office, not even bothering to knock when I got there.

"Yes dad?"

"I would like you to calm down first before you even decide to say another word."

I closed my eyes and started taking deep breaths, willing my eyes to go back to normal and when I opened them again my dad gestured for me to take a seat so I walked over to the desk and took a seat in the chair opposite him.

"Did you greet the new family?"

I nodded, "Yes, they seem very nice."

"Don't try and hide it son, I know Sakari is your mate."

"How?"

"Rhylie told me."

"I'm going to kill him," I muttered under my breath.

"You will do no such thing."

Stupid advanced hearing, I thought to myself,

"Does she know?"

"Yes."

"And are you two okay with it?"

I rubbed the back of my neck, "I sort of, rejected her."

"You did what?"

"I don't want to love her dad and you know why."

"It's inevitable, she's your mate, you can't not love her."

"I'll use everything in my power to make sure that I don't."

He sighed, "Son, I know that Lucie-"

"Don't speak her name in my presence."

I said is a deathly low tone and because I'm alpha, he had to follow my order.

"Sorry... I know that she hurt you but you can't take it out on Sakari, she's a nice girl and beautiful for that matter."

"She's breathtaking."

He smiled, "You're love struck."

I shook my head and put on my blank face, "I won't love her dad, she's just like her. I know it."

"Don't judge her Darius; until you get to know her for who she is, you cannot judge her."

I sighed, "You're right, it's just that she's so beautiful and sweet and I don't want to fall in love with her, as my mate she has the power to tear me to pieces even worse than Lucie."

I said her name with such venom, "It doesn't mean you can just reject her, while before you didn't know who your mate was, you could go on normally but know that you've found her, you'll need her more than you think."

"Well, until that day comes, I will not love her, we're done here."

I stood up from the chair and walked out of his office and when I passed.

Sakari's room I could hear voices and I was about to knock on her door when I heard the words that made me both angry and hurt.

"I love you too Lukas."

How can she love him, he's not even her mate, I am! But you rejected her.

My wolf stated matter-of-factly and once again he was right, I shouldn't be angry but I can't help it, she's supposed to love me, not some guy miles away..

"You don't love her, so why should she love you?" My wolf said and I just sighed in defeat and walked back to my room.

When I walked in I actually gasped at how much damage I had caused to my room, I was probably too angry before to notice but not it's noticeable, definitely noticeable.

I lay dowm on my bed and closed my eyes, praying that I had a dreamless night but I didn't get that, instead I dreamt of my mate.

My life is going to turn upside down completely and I know that I have to fight off this feeling that I keep getting whenever I think of Sakari.
