Chapter 12

*John P.O.V  ( Alpha Silver Line pack) ) *  ( The day of the attack on the Purple moon pack )

This day had gone so much different than I had planned. Daisy and I had brought our son Caleb to her parents and we had left. Some of our small pack had already been back on their spots around the Purple moon pack.They showed that they were still under attack and that we were not listening to their offers or threats. I sat in the car, driving towards the meeting point and ready for a good fight. I knew it was a weird reason maybe to want to attack a pack but Patricia should have been mine. I might not have been a alpha heir like that dumb man she was now with but she was not only promised to me, she actually was my mate at first. Yet she rejected me, and before I could show her that I was worth it, I get to hear that she found a new mate and is married with him.

I look next to me to my wife and mate. Yes, I also found my second chance mate but she was by far not as amazing as Patricia always was. I heard my wolf growl in my head, King was not happy with my decision. But I didn’t care, he had to listen to me and not the other way around. I knew very well that he was already happy that we found a second chance mate. I smiled at Daisy as she took hold of my hand. ‘’I know why you are doing this.. And I just want to tell you that I support you.. Even if it hurts that you still feel so much for that other women and that makes me want to rip her apart..’’ She said and I could feel she would follow me with this even if it meant getting on the second place when we were successful.

I nodded and looked at her from the corner of my eyes. ‘’I know how you feel about this.. But I need you today here... I need you to kill that husband of hers.. I know you still have that killer side buried inside you’’ I said to her and I smiled. Daisy nodded and we arrived at the pack meeting point.

We met with our pack, it wasn’t the biggest and I knew we were kind of out numbered but that is why I have been playing it smart and sneaky the last few weeks. I already had a inside spy that told me pretty much everything I needed. Of course a taken in rogue was only trusted for what they saw from him and this meant he wasn’t allowed everywhere but he had good ears and has been able to send us enough information.

‘’Okay.. We will attack in the next hour.. But as I said before, we will attack smart. So be swift and light on your feet. Kill the border patrol one by one and drag the bodies out of their territory so they won’t be found right away’’ I said to my warriors and they all nodded. ‘’Alright.. Questions?’’ I asked and no one said anything. ‘’Good... Take a last rest, shift and then we will leave for the pack’’ I said and dismissed the pack. I stayed with Daisy a little longer and as she always liked to do, we were hugging each other some. King purred inside of me and was content with his mate by our side but I wasn’t. I had not that mate that I had wanted ever since I first laid my eyes on her.

I had been the gamma of the Silver line pack and only because she was born a beta, she rejected me. After she had done that, I had been sad at first and pained but eventually I started to train more and gotten a beta status. I was not happy yet so instead of staying a beta and trying again. I planned a attack on my alpha and his wife. I killed the alpha of my pack and his Luna too. Because I did that, I became the new alpha of the pack. Of course a lot of wolves left the pack but I let them, they would be rogues and had chosen for it them self. Those who stayed, got a good rank that suited them and they were content. This all was six years ago and it had taken we a while to get the pack ordered again. This was normal with a hostile take over. The moment I was ready to go to her, to see if she was still rejecting me, I heard the pack had just became allies with a different pack and that Patricia had moved over there because she wanted to live with the pack of her mate.

‘’John..’’ Daisy said and I looked at her, escaping from my thoughts. ‘’Yes?’’ I asked. ‘’I’ll do anything you ask from me.. But I ask one thing in return..’’ She said and I looked a little confused. ‘’What is this thing?’’ I asked. ‘’That you will still make Caleb your heir.. Even if this other women also will become your wife.. I agree on sharing, it will hurt me but I’ll agree.. But Caleb is your first born.. And I want him to be your heir’’ she said and I smiled. ‘’Sure, I’ll promise you now that he will be my heir. I’ll teach him the ways of a alpha and once he is old and strong enough, he will become to heir to our pack’’ I said. ‘’Thank you..’’ Daisy said and then looked at the other wolves. ‘’It is time’’ She said and let go of me. I nodded and we both shifted.

*Several hours later*

I stood on the grass field and looked at Patricia. I could smell she had been bleeding but that she was healed already. Had she been attacked? Or had she just been clumsy when she was trying to get away from us? She was panting from the attack my wolves had done on her and the wolf that was from her pack. She had stood her ground quite easily and that is what I admired from her. I saw how she broke one of the paws of my pack members and then that beta of hers, Charlie, jumped into the middle of the circle and took one wolf down. ‘’Now my flower’’ I said and Daisy quickly ran towards them. She was fast, even in human form.

I saw how Patricia had been distracted and Daisy had taken that to her advantage. She had smacked Patricia to the ground. I made my way to them but only walked there. I heard how Daisy bragged about killing Maurice and I knew how this would affect Patricia. Well, I thought I knew because I had thought she would fall to her knees and cry by the mentioning of her mate. Instead of that, she actually used Daisy’s moment of bragging to her advantage. She had turned herself around and held Daisy by her throat. My pack members now had her beta trapped but Patricia held Daisy’s throat and stood behind her, making demands to my wolves.

I wasn’t there in time because I could hear how Daisy was choking and then suddenly I heard the snap of neck bones. She had just snapped the neck of my mate. King took over for a moment and I ran towards Patricia and Daisy. Her lifeless body was on the ground and I laid my hands around the neck of Patricia. How I had longed for this moment, to hold her neck in my hands. Only had I hoped it would be in a little bit of a different position and a different reason. ''So.. You killed my Luna... Now I should kill you too.. Or I could let you live to endure the pain that I am feeling now too'' I said in cold voice. Clearly King was still a bit in charge because I totally forgot what I actually wanted to say. He didn’t let me take back the charge and it annoyed me. Yet I couldn’t help it.

 ''You can do that but if you want this pack to become yours, you will have to kill me because they will never be linked to you as their alpha'' Patricia said, She didn’t sound afraid to die. Of course not, her mate just died and she wanted to be back wit him more than anything else. ''Maybe not.. Unless I make you my new mate'' I said and she snorted. Probably at the fact that I said new mate, she wouldn’t be my new mate. She would be my old mate finally becoming my mate. ''I'll never obey you.. And on your first attempt I'll kill you'' she said. I couldn’t take it, King was too much in charge and I didn’t think the way I was supposed too. I didn’t do the things I had been planning to do. ''Too bad.. I would have loved to have you under my sheets, then I'll just have to snap your little neck'' I said and before she could answer, I did what I said.

Charlie, the beta of Patricia, growled loud and let out a howl. He let the others know that their Luna was now too dead. Yet he was not done fighting yet. Right before my eyes he killed two more members of my pack even though he was hurt. I returned to the house, defeated by the fact I now had not even one mate. The whole mission was a fail to me now.

*Three days later*

Three days, three full days the purple moon pack kept fighting back under the command of Charlie. He sure was on my new to kill list. Top of the list to be honest. He now had left and had only taken a few wolves with him. The rest that had remained were a handful of omega males and females that now were in the dungeon. I would let them stay there for a year, maybe two first. Then I would talk with them about joining the new pack that owned this territory.

My parents in law were on their way to bring Caleb back. They already knew that Daisy was dead. First her mother had started to cry and then out of no where Caleb had started. We had disposed most of the bodies, only Daisy’s body was still here because she would get a proper funeral. I owed her that, but not only her also Caleb. He needed to see she died, he needed to have a place to mourn for her. I stood in front of the pack house when the silver car of Daisy’s parents parked. Caleb got out and he looked around. I could see he had been crying a lot. I walked to him and got on one knee and opened my arms for him. He walked to me and hugged me, right away he started to sob again. I couldn’t help but feel my own tears also boil up from deep down within me. I let them out and we both cried in each others arms. ‘’Oh my boy..’’ I said and he sobbed more. ‘’D-d-daddy?’’ he asked while sobbing. ‘’Yes?’’ I asked back. ‘’Is.. I-is she really?’’ He asked and I slowly nodded my head. My parents in law stood before us and I could hear my mother in law also cry. She searched for a strong arm by her mate and he supported her. They had a great marriage and I have been jealous of them. I often wished I could have loved Daisy the way they loved each other.

‘’Will you come inside? Today if the last day her coffin can stay open..’’ I said and they nodded. ‘’Yes, we will’’ Jacob, my father in law, said and I got up. I picked Caleb up and walked with him inside. ‘’This will now be our new pack house Caleb..’’ I said to him and he looked around. ‘’Is this now our territory?’’ he asked curious and I nodded. ‘’Do you want to see mommy for a last time?’’ I asked him and he nodded yes, then shook his head no and then nodded yes again. I couldn’t help but chuckled a little bit. ‘’I know it is hard to choose.. We will walk to the room she is in and then you can choose okay?’’ I asked him and he nodded yes this time. ‘’Good’’ I replied and then walked to a backdoor. It was a special room the former pack used to have for the sad occasion that someone died.

I entered the room and put Caleb on the ground. Several rows with chairs stood in the room and I walked to the front. The room was kept cold, for known reasons. I gave Jacob and Jane the room they needed to say goodbye to their daughter. I sat down on one of the chairs and looked at what Caleb was gonna do. For a while he stayed in the back of the room. After a while, when he saw his grandparents near the big coffin, he started to come closer to the front. Eventually he had reached me and stood next to me with a hand on my leg. ‘’Daddy?’’ He asked and I looked at him. ‘’Yes?’’ I asked. ‘’Will you carry me to her?’’ He asked and I nodded. I got up and picked him up. ‘’You don’t have to touch her if you don’t want too’’ I assured him and he held on tight to me.

The moment he saw his mother lay like that, he got tears in his eyes again and I could understand him. I might be ruthless but I still could feel for my sons feelings. He was my everything, the only thing I had left from this women that was given to me after a lot of heartache. I looked at her and a tear rolled over my own cheek again. ‘’I am sorry for all the wrongs I have ever done to you my mate.. I should have appreciated you more for who you are.. You were my new chance for happiness and I never even deserved you but you stood there for me no matter what. I love you and I hope you will wait for me on the other side. Once my day is there to join you, we will run over the grass fields together and I’ll never leave you again’’ I thought to myself and somehow I hoped she would receive the message.

After they said goodbye to their daughter, I walked Daisy’s parents out and told them we would bury her the next day. They said they would be here again then and I asked them what they wanted to help think of a good text for on her headstone. They wanted that. We then walked back inside, Caleb and I. I showed him the house and told him this would from now on be his house too. The whole time he was very quiet and even during dinner he didn’t say a word.

‘’Will we still be Silver line pack?’’ He asked after I had put him in bed, he had a new room and I wasn’t sure he would even sleep the first few nights but I had already told him that he could come to me when ever he wanted. My room was across of his and he was happy that I was so close. ‘’Yes son, we are still Silver line pack, you don’t have to learn a new pack name’’ I said and he nodded. ‘’That is good.. Mommy thought of that name so it still has her name..’’ he said and then lay down. I tucked him in and gave him a ruffle through his hair. ‘’Now go to sleep and dream of growing big’’ I said and he nodded. He hugged his stuffed wolf and I left the room. Tomorrow would be a hard day for all of us, but we would get through it and grow strong. I would make our pack better and stronger over the years, not for myself anymore. No, I would do it for Caleb so he would have a great pack under his control once he was ready to become the alpha.
