Chapter 11

* Dylan P.O.V. *

‘’No.. no.. no.. no... Geez you got anything at least a little smexy?’’ I asked as I went through Ashley’s closet searching for a good clubbing outfit. ‘’Eh.. No, probably not something liking to your taste’’ She responded, she sounded a little sassy and I liked it. I never really made a fuss for myself when I discovered that I was gay. I knew it long before I was eighteen so it didn’t come as a surprise. My first crush had been a human teacher at the high school I had gone too. I sure did my best to see if he was also into guys but if he had been, he sure wasn’t one to screw a student. Bad luck for me. ‘’Ugh.. I guess I’ll have Jack take care of this.. He is good with scissors and such’’ I said and then walked towards the door. ‘’Jack sweety! Can you help? This women is living under a rock!’’ I yelled and my mate Jack walked up to me. While he did I slightly growled because he was looking very good. ‘’Darn you sweety.. I would love to tore those clothes of you’’ I whispered as he passed me and gave me a kiss.

I heard him chuckle and then just walk towards Ashley’s closet from which was at least seventy per cent laying on the ground. ‘’Dyl, go take a shower... Then I’ll fix this’’ he said to me and so I did. I walked out of the room and left them alone. This would be great and I was really having fun already. First we ate lots of pizza and had a lot of fun in the living room with my parents. Now we were getting ready to go clubbing down town. I walked into my bedroom and took a quick shower, washing my body and my hair and after rinsing it off, I stepped out right away and started to dry myself with a towel.

In fifteen minutes I was all dressed up in a dark jeans with a belt that was white with little iron nobs on it, a white shirt and a leather jacket. I did my hair and put on my aftershave, not too much of course and checked myself on last time. ‘’Yes.. I am good to go’’ I said to myself and Conan gave a light growl in my head. ‘’Whats wrong?’’ I asked him. ‘’Necklace dumb ass’’ he responded and I knew very well why he was grumpy. Jack and I were together now for three months already and even though we had marked each other, we had not mated yet and Conan really wanted to do that. So did I of course but in stead of being the jerk I look like I am, I really want to make it special yet not too cheesy.

I walked out of my room and went to Evan. ‘’Ready little brother?’’ I asked and saw how he put on his sneakers. His hair was longer than mine, I had the short hair cut with longer on the top and he had it hanging as high as his earlobe. It was funny because he wore a white pants with dark belt, no nubs on it. A darker shirt and no jacket. ‘’I am done, is Jack done too?’’ Evan asked and he looked quite amused. ‘’What is it that you know and I don’t?’’ I asked. ‘’Ashley is working quite hard against him and she mind linked me several times already to help her.. But I didn’t, though it is hard.. I am very happy she didn’t discover the alpha’s voice yet’’ Evan said and I laughed. ‘’Let’s safe my precious mate of our vicious cousin’’ I said and together we walked to Ashley her room.

*Ashley’s P.O.V.  -  same time as Dylan went to his own room *

I watched Dylan leave after making a huge mess of my closet. I sighed and started to pick up my clothes as Jack walked in. ‘’Oh dear.. You are not going to make a even bigger mess right?’’ I asked and he chuckled. ‘’No.. I am just gonna see what I can do with your clothes’’ he said and helped me pick up my clothes. ‘’You know what.. I’ll do something about the clothes problem, you take a shower and get ready’’ Jack said and I nodded. I grabbed a towel from the closet and some underwear. As I walked towards my bathroom, I heard Jack cough and looked behind me. ‘’Don’t forget to shave’’ he said with a grin and I sighed. ‘’Yes ma’m’’ I said as a joke and locked the door behind me. Gay or not, I did not trust it one bit. I took of my clothes and put them in the laundry basket.

‘’I have no idea what I have to think about the fact that they are working so hard on my outfit’’ I said to Daciana and I heard her chuckle. ‘’I understand but they mean well.. But I like to pick my own outfits and I don’t need help..’’ I then said to her and stepped under the stream of the shower that I had put on in the mean time. I relaxed the moment I felt the hot water on my body. I sighed deep and decided to stop thinking about the whole clothes question and just let Jack do his thing. Of course only for as long he would let me wear pants! I wasn’t the type to wear skirts or dresses and if I wore a dress, then I always had a short pair of pants under it. I wanted to be sure I could kick someone down if they were being bad. Again I heard Daciana chuckle but I could feel she was agreeing with me.

After a short while I got out of the shower and dried myself. The shower had taken way to short if you asked me but Jack kept knocking on the door. I used my hairdryer to finish quickly and went with a high pony tail. I put little earrings in my ears and for the second pair I used little stud earrings. I then put on my underwear and my bathrobe and walked outside. ‘’Finally..’’ Jack said and I looked around surprised, he had cleaned up all the mess and there were three outfits on my bed from what I could pick.

I walked to my bed to take a better look. All had short pants, guy it is October! He clearly thought differently. I checked the first outfit, a short pants with a long white shirt-dress idea and a pair of brown ankle boots. Pass. The second outfit was a short pants with a dark green shirt from which the back was longer than the front, with it was a leather jacket and a pair of black sneakers. I really liked that one but I had to check the third one too. I looked at the third and knew right away I would go with outfit number two. Outfit number three was a white short pants with a soft pink shirt with white ruffles and a bit of lace on the sleeves. When did I ever buy something like that? I wondered and then grabbed outfit two. I walked back to the bathroom and there I got dressed.

There I put up just a little make up, I didn’t use much because I simply didn’t need it. After I was dressed, had checked my hair one more time and put on my sneakers I walked down stairs. There the boys were waiting with my aunt and uncle for me. ‘’I’m here’’ I said and they looked up. Dylan whistled which made me blush a little but I gave him a warning look which made him chuckle. ‘’You look good Ash’’ he said and they walked up to me. ‘’Take care of your cousin.. If anything bad happens to her, you will regret it’’ my uncle said to his sons and they nodded. ‘’No one will touch our cousin, she is ours and ours alone’’ Evan said and it sounded funny to hear him being protective.

After we all were finished saying goodbye, we walked to Evan’s car and all climbed inside. Evan drove away from the house and I saw a few other cars also ride into the same direction as we did. ‘’What is it? Club night?’’ I asked. ‘’Something like that, a lot of younger wolves go to the club today.. It is fun, believe me’’ Dylan said from the back seat. I sat in the front next to Evan. ‘’Alright, you say so’’ I said and I wasn’t much of a clubbing girl. Even though I’ve never went to a club, I just never felt like it. I really liked sitting by the fire and tell good stories or read a good book. The drive took about forty minutes and then Evan parked on a crowded parking lot. I unbuckled the seat belt and then got out. The moment the air hit my nose, I smelled a faint smell that gave of apples with cinnamon. It smelled fantastic and I really wanted to know where it came from. I looked around several times but I couldn’t track it.

‘’Yo! Earth to Ash!’’ Dylan suddenly said behind me and I looked at him a little shocked. ‘’Are you okay?’’ He asked and raised a eyebrow. ‘’Yeah.. Yeah I’m good..’’ I said and he nodded. ‘’Okay, lets go’’ Evan said and he smiled. His smile seemed a bit of but I didn’t know why this was. It bothered me a bit but before I could ask, Dylan wrapped a arm around my shoulders. We walked towards the entrance and showed our ID’s. We then got a little wristband and walked inside. First down a stairs and I could already hear the music pumping. We went around a corner and then another corner. Then Dylan opened a large door and we saw a crowded area where people were dancing, drinking, chilling and playing games. Some games were innocent, for others I turned away my head or shielded that area away with my hand.

‘’Okay, first drinks’’ Jack said and they leaded me towards the bar. ‘’Hey Yo-yo.. Can you bring us something sweet and good for a first time drinker?’’ Jack said to a girl with cornrows in her hair. ‘’Will sure do honey, coming right at ya!’’ She said back and she went on her way. ‘’Add the usual for us to that order’’ Dylan said and she turned around. ‘’Now that is a sight I haven’t seen in awhile.. How is my sweet Dylan?’’ She asked while working on our drinks. ‘’I’m doing well, how are you?’’ Dylan asked and while I tried to listen to what they were saying, suddenly my nose sniffed up the same scent as I had done outside. Apples and Cinnamon. Jack smelled also like apples.. But that was more a granny-smith type of apple. This were sweet apples. I looked around trying to find the smell but I couldn’t.. Again. This frustrated me. ‘’How is this possible? Normally I am a good tracker.. Daci work with me here...’’ I said but I knew she was also searching for the one that let of this scent. ‘’I can’t find him either..’’ She responded.

Suddenly a hand waving in front of my face woke me up from my concentration. ‘’Hello?’’ Evan stood in front of me with a red-orange colored drink. ‘’Here is your drink.. Are you sure you are okay?’’ he asked worried. Because he was part of my ‘not existing’ pack, I couldn’t lie to him. ‘’Yes and no.. Did you ever had that you could smell your mate but not find her?’’ I asked. Evan looked surprised and looked around. ‘’I would lie if I said no.. But why do you ask that?’’ Evan asked. ‘’I keep smelling a scent that is so amazing... But somehow I can’t find it’’ I said and sighed. I took the drink from his hand and first smelled it a bit. Fruity and sweet. I then took a little sip and to my surprise it actually tasted okay. ‘’Let’s dance, maybe you’ll find him there’’ Evan said and I shook my head. ‘’No no.. I’m fine for now’’ I said and smiled. ‘’You can go if you want’’ I said. ‘’Are you sure?’’ Evan asked. ‘’Geez Evan, I am not gonna fall down from one drink and being alone for a moment.. I’ll join you later, I am not much of a clubbing girl remember’’ I said and he nodded. ‘’True.. Alright’’ He then said and went to the dance floor.

I saw that Dylan and Jack were still chatting with the girl behind the bar and I took another sip. I walked back to them and leaned a bit against Dylan. Dylan smiled and looked at me. ‘’Are you okay?’’ he asked. ‘’Stop asking that okay.. I am fine.. Just a little annoyed with the excellent AC system here..’’ I said and the girl looked a bit surprised. ‘’Believe me, it gets warm in here if it’s off.’’ She says and I nod. ‘’I know but.. I believe I just smelled my mate... But before I can track the scent, it is gone again’’ I said and she nods understanding. ‘’You will find him... Or her eventually’’ She says and points to my drink. ‘’Like it?’’ she asked and I nod. ‘’Good, I’ll get you another one’’ she said and walked away. ‘’Let’s dance after that drink’’ Dylan said and I nodded.

It took me a little while to finish the second drink but after it was gone. Dylan held up to his word and pulled me towards the dance floor. I danced with him and with Jack for a while. Then Evan showed up and we danced too. It was amazing! I totally forgot about the whole smelling my mate because of the fun I had. It was a amazing night and I really enjoyed myself, more than I had expected.

* Caleb P.O.V. *

It was Friday night and I just finished getting ready to go out. I walked down the stairs of the pack house and saw my friends stand there. Nadine, my future beta, was the only female of our group but she never would let any of us get in trouble. ‘’Ready to go?’’ I asked them and they nodded. ‘’Just a sec’’ Nadine said while she was on her phone. She could type really fast and in a matter of seconds she was done. ‘’And.. Send’’ she said and looked up. ‘’Yes, ready as I’ll ever be’’ she said and we walked out of the large house.

We got into Nadine’s car, since she was a non-drinker she was our driver. I sat in the front as we drove to the club we always went. ‘’So, whats the plan?’’ She asked as I enjoyed the fresh air coming through the window. ‘’Have fun and get drunk?’’ I asked with a teasing smile. ‘’Oh come on.. You are not telling me I will have to pull you off some dumb wolf-lass like most of the times right?’’ Nadine asked, she was american but loved Scotland so when ever she could, she used Scottish words like lass. I chuckled and shook my head. ‘’I’ll behave..’’ I said and looked at her from the corner of my eyes. She shook her head and I knew she didn’t believe me one bit.

We arrived at the club and I got out of the car. I looked around and saw the usual crowd walking into the club. I did spot a few new guys but not girls. I locked the door and slammed it just as the wind blew past me. ‘’Fresh air.. I love it’’ I said and Nadine rolled her eyes. ‘’If you call this fresh, I wonder what you call the woods’’ she responded and walked ahead of me. How she didn’t find her mate yet was a miracle to me because she totally deserved one. But then again I was happy she hadn’t found him yet because she would go with him if he didn’t want to stay with our pack and she was my only true friend.

We were walking inside the moment I heard a car door open and close and suddenly I smelled the most amazing scent ever. It was like a pine forest after rain, I quickly turned my head before Nadine pulled me inside and I saw a blond young women stand by the car. ‘’Mate.. There is our mate! Finally! Go to her!’’ Rollo said and I wanted but Nadine was not letting go of me. She was searching for me but the wind took away my scent before she could find me. Damn it! Rollo let out a loud howl inside my head, he does that so now and then so I am used to it. Yet this howl was louder than normal and it gave me a instant headache. That was my mate! I tried to get free but Nadine only got a better grip and I looked at her. ‘’Nadine...’’ I said and she looked up. ‘’What is wrong?’’ I asked and could see that something was not right. Her eyes got a bit watery and I didn’t think, I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her. ‘’Hey..’’ I whispered. ‘’He.. He is here..’’ She whispered and she sounded almost scared. ‘’Who is?’’ I asked, I had a protective feeling over her because she was my best friend. ‘’My mate.. But.. There is a problem..’’ She whispered and I looked confused.

Nadine looked up and sighed. We walked towards the club, there were a lot of rooms where you can talk in private there. Of course they were often used for other things than talk but we went to one of these rooms and Nadine let go of my arm once the door was close. ‘’Okay, what is the problem?’’ I asked, trying to ignore Rollo who was nagging inside my head to leave the room and search for my mate. ‘’He.. is part of the Blue Lake pack..’’ She said and sighed.That even got Rollo to stop the nagging and whimpering. I knew this could be a slight problem because we were not really on friendly therms with the Blue Lake Pack. We once were about to become allies with them but then my father and mother ordered a attack on a different pack, the Purple Moon Pack in which they killed the Alpha and Luna of that pack. It was their right to do this because that pack had something that once belonged to my father but they never found it. So they took over what was left of the pack. There was only one problem, my father could never truely let them submit to him and so he locked them in the dungeons beneath the pack house. He never understood why this was until he heard from one of the locked up wolves that the Luna had just given birth before she was killed. When my father had found that out, he went to search for the baby but somehow he never found her.

I was pacing down the room and I didn’t know that I did this until Nadine stopped me. ‘’I’m not leaving you.. I made you the promise to be your Beta.. I’ve fought all my life for the position and I am not gonna give it up..’’ she said. Nadine wasn’t born in the Beta rank, she had Omega parents but when she and I had met in school, we hit it of right away. As friends not as a couple though. We became really close and some even thought we would be mates, even I had thought that for a while but when I woke up on my eighteenth birthday, I had no extra special feelings for her when I saw her. I told her honestly. She said she knew this because even though she wasn’t eighteen yet she had no feelings for me in that way at all. That day she even called me a idiotic arrogant wolf. She and I went hard on each other during training that day but after that, I announced to my father right away that I wanted Nadine to become my Beta. He thought I had lost my mind but when I kept standing by my point, he said it was my decision. She started a different type of training and became one of the strongest women in our pack.

‘’Hello.. Earth to day dreamer’’ Nadine suddenly said and waved before my face with her hand. ‘’Yes.. Yes sorry.. I am back’’ I said and nodded. ‘’Nadine.. What car did he come from?’’ I asked. ‘’Why?’’ Nadine asked. I started pacing again and tried to get things straight in my head. ‘’Just.. Tell me what car he came from please..’’ I said. ‘’The silver truck.. Why? Tell me Caleb’’ Nadine said and she even slightly growled. ‘’Because not only your mate was on that parking lot!’’ I said and sighed deep. ‘’There was one girl with him..’’ Nadine said and at the same time we said: ‘’A blond one’’. Well, mine came more out as a question but it was answered right away. ‘’Okay so.. Now what?’’ Nadine asked and we looked at each other. ‘’I don’t know..’’ I said and sighed. I sat down and looked at the ceiling. ‘’You know Cale..’’ Nadine said after a while. I looked at her and raised a eyebrow. ‘’We are a hopeless pair of wolves’’ She said and then laughed. I couldn’t help but to laugh too.

Suddenly I smelled the same scent again and I could see that Nadine was smelling her mate too. They had to be on the dance floor or at least close to it.. I couldn’t help it and I opened the door. There she was, in the middle of the dance floor. She was dancing with three guys and I could feel a rage come over me. I tried to stay calm and was slightly shaking. Nadine laid a hand on my shoulder. ‘’Wait..’’ she said and I looked at her. ‘’Take a better look...’’ She said and leaned against me. ‘’She dances with three guys.. They all came from the same car.. And look, those brown and blond haired guys, they are marked.. And I believe even by each other’’ she said. How could she stay so calm?! Was all I could think but I did as she said and looked at them. She was right. I then looked at the black haired male, he wasn’t trying to hold her in his arms, that I saw and I’m glad he didn’t. ‘’That black haired guy.. That is my mate..’’ Nadine said. I felt happy to see no one tried to touch my mate, and now that I knew what she looked like, I would search for her later. I didn't want to officially meet her in this club, that felt wrong. I closed the door and used the ordering system to order us some drinks. ''You're stuck with me here the rest of the night'' I said to Nadine and she smiled. ''I am okay with that, then I know you will behave'' She said and sat down on the couch. I sat down next to her and blocked away Rollo's whimpering in my head. Later buddy, not now.
