Aisha's heart was racing as she followed Nneoma's sister to a quiet café. The smell of coffee and the hum of conversation enveloped her, but she was too nervous to notice. What was Nneoma's sister going to tell her?
"What's going on?" Aisha asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What do you know about Ifeanyi?"
Nneoma's sister, Ada, took a deep breath. "Ifeanyi wasn't the loving husband he made himself out to be, Aisha. He was controlling, manipulative, and abusive. Nneoma was terrified of him."
Aisha's eyes widened in horror. "What are you saying?"
Ada's eyes filled with tears. "I'm saying that Ifeanyi killed my sister, Aisha. He was the one who caused the car accident that took her life. And now, he's after you."
Aisha felt like she'd been punched in the gut. She couldn't breathe, couldn't think. This couldn't be true.
But as she looked into Ada's eyes, she saw the truth. The fear, the pain, the desperation.
"Ifeanyi has a history of charming people, making them believe he's the perfect man. But he's not, Aisha. He's a master manipulator. And you're his next target."
Aisha's mind was reeling. She didn't know what to do. She needed to get away from Ifeanyi, to protect herself.
She stood up, her legs shaking. "I have to go, Ada. I have to get away from him."
Ada nodded, her eyes filled with concern. "Be careful, Aisha. He's not going to let you go without a fight."
Aisha nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she had to be strong, to protect herself.
She walked out of the café, her eyes scanning the crowd. Where was Ifeanyi? Was he watching her?
She pulled out her phone and dialed Funmi's number. "Funmi, I need your help. I need to get out of here, now."
Funmi's voice was calm and reassuring. "I'm on my way, Aisha. Stay safe."
Aisha nodded, feeling a sense of relief. She was going to get out of this, she was going to be okay.
But as she turned to walk away, she saw him. Ifeanyi, standing across the street, his eyes fixed on her.
Aisha's heart skipped a beat. She knew she was in danger.
