“Are you saying Crystal is pregnant?” My mother’s voice was low, but it might as well have been shouted in my face as she raised her eyes to met mine. “Gabe.” She shook her head. “What have you done?”
What had I done? It took me several agonisingly long seconds to realise she thought I was the father of the child growing inside of Crystal. I shook my head and anger tonged my voice . “The child isn’t mine I have never touched her.”
It angered me that Opal would think such a thing. That I would betray Ffion by taking another to my bed. Except I should have known they would think that. I had agreed when my father had asked me to take Crystal as my mate.
“Then who….?” Opals eyes skirted away. Landing on the wide eyed a terrified girl on the bed. Crystal was silent but she was crying.
