CHAPTER 16:

1553 Words
Since Muhali’s capture, there was unrest on the Earth as the presidents could not decide what to do with Muhali. Some were unconvinced of the allegation of Muhali being ‘The Destroyer’. Some just did not care either way as long as the Channidae kept their promise to share advanced technology with them. While some remained undecided, ruling neither for nor against Muhali. Muhali had been in her Ukuna form for thirty-six hours and her corporeal form was getting strained. Her eyes kept turning blue and amber in frequent intervals. The Channidae Official could not manage to convince the humans to hand Muhali over to him. And Muhali was also getting impatient with the humans for remaining ambivalent. She had gotten all that she needed from the human military base and her mind was now set on the next phase of Vesma’s plan. All that Muhali and the Channidae Official had left to depend on was the greed of the humans for power. To sway the vote in his favour the Channidae Official called the American president aside and promised him ultimate ruler-ship of earth if he assisted him in the procurement of Muhali’s custody. In order to do this, they would have to provoke Muhali by doing the unthinkable. Torturing her people and displaying it to her. In a bid to execute their insidious plan they sent a callous looking soldier who waltzed into the holding cell where they had kept Muhali with a tablet in his hand. He put the tablet on the tabled and placed it facing Muhali. Muhali was lying on the bed when he came in and intrigued by what was happening she planted her feet on the ground. She sat up and started focusing on the glass wall once more. She could feel the presence of the official and how his disposition had changed; he suddenly seemed victorious and confident. The soldier sat at the table and he proceeded to say: “I am not moved by your stories on how you are supposedly a protector princess. I think you are just a scavenger here to take what does not belong to you and leave us desolate. So, this is what is going to happen. You will confess all your crimes to us and we will hand you over to the Channidae. What they do with you is not our problem.” Muhali did not care for what the soldier was saying she did not even look at him. Since all of her energy had been focused on maintaining her Ukuna form she could not spare any more to watch the Channidae Official and concentrate on the soldier at the same time. Her Ukuna form had finished making preparations for the extraction of the Inthian prisoners and she had gone looking for Varetu. She found him confined to his quarters reading a book just as she remembered him. He always had a proclivity for the written word, an appetite he had transferred to her. “Varetu!” she said and he lifted his eyes to confirm if his suspicions on who was addressing him were correct. “Kariai…” replied Varetu. “You are the only person apart from my father who calls me that. There isn’t much time to speak; I have come to warn you. The Channidae are suspicious of my relation with you and because of their uncertainty they could attempt to harm you…” said Muhali. “Who are you to me? How do we know one another? And how is it that I understand your language? Why am I not afraid of you? I know you are locked up in your cell and yet I’m not surprised to see you here. Why?” Cordell asked in a desperate tone. But before Muhali could respond, Agent Matthew Tyler Matthews busted in. Out of breath he said in a rush: “…you have to come with me Sponge. Something is happening.” Not giving Cordell time to process the information he grabbed him by the hand and pulled him up. Muhali’s eyes blazed with her pure blood colour as she whispered: “…something is not right.” She said that as her attention turned from Varetu to the direction of her holding cell. Regardless of her instincts she followed Agent Matthews and her Varetu to a separate room at the southern section of the base. She followed them until they entered into what looked like an observation room. She saw some soldiers whispering with their heads shaking in disbelief. When she moved closer she saw one of her people being strapped down to a chair with a significant amount of wires. At that very moment she realised what was about to take place. Before another thought could even pass through her mind the young woman strapped to the chair screamed in agony and Muhali's body trembled as if the electric jolt went through her instead. Her eyes seemed like they were in a trance as a single tear dropped down her cheek. “I promise you I didn’t know. Please believe me. I had no idea. I would have told you. I…” this was the distant sound of Cordell’s voice in her mind. One of the Channidae officers was also at the interview room and he too could see Muhali and he came to the conclusion that Cordell could see her as well. All of the other doctors, soldiers and scientists kept wondering who Cordell was addressing but since he was with his brother they assumed that it was Agent Matthews he was addressing. There had always been a rumour that Cordell was a little unstable and so no one dared to ask him who he was speaking to. Agent Matthews grabbed Cordell by the arm and said nothing, just to remind Cordell there were people in the room and they could hear him. Cordell took his eyes off Muhali just for an instant and when next he saw her she was inside the t*****e chamber. She walked over to the guards and looked at them sternly, starring them down from head to toe. “Oh no…” said Cordell right before she touched one of the guards on the face and immediately the expression on his face changed. He looked at his fellow soldier and attacked him knocking him down. The young woman they had strapped down was still screaming in agony and Muhali’s corporeal self could see this t*****e taking place on the monitor. Her corporeal self stood up with the same stern expression as her Ukuna form and she began saying: “In all my years I have never come across such a repugnant race. Your greed and l**t for power has destroyed any hope for your future…” Muhali turned on the monitors with her mind and linked the live feed to all the news channels of earth. The Channidae Official sneered victoriously as he said to the president: “this is the moment she succumbs to her true violent nature.” Everything felt completely still for Muhali as she could feel the attention of the whole planet on her, and she continued saying: “Had you asked me to leave your planet so that you could fend for yourselves I would have done so. Had you handed me over to the Channidae I would have left in peace knowing that you yourselves had made that choice. What has that innocent child done to you that you must t*****e her? Look at where your greed has led you? If you had to punish or t*****e someone, why could it not have been me? Am I not the one you have labelled destroyer because of promises of arsenal and power? Now I will show you who holds the greatest power.” Muhali’s corporeal self-released an energy whip against the interrogation officer in her cell. She took one look at the guards standing at the door and they collapsed, and the door sealed itself with a bright blue energy. The same happened in the t*****e chamber, except her Ukuna form did not release an energy whip. But she ordered the soldier she touched to attack the scientists that had strapped down the young Inthian. She switched the machine off and ordered the soldier to unstrap the young girl. After the guard had laid the young girl down on the ground, she knelt down and touched the girl on the chest. By doing this she revealed the true form of the girl. Everyone watching as well as the entire base realised that the woman, they thought they were torturing was actually a small child. She looked no older than an eight-year-old human child. Muhali stroked her hair as she wiped the little girl’s tears and she whispered: “shhhhh… it will be alright little one. You are safe now.” She stood up in a rage of furry and she tore the machine apart. She could hear the sound of the soldiers attempting to force open the doors from both ends. Her corporeal form whispered into her armour in a calm and serene tone: “…I juos dabar (take them now).” And in an instant the young girl as well as all of the Inthian prisoners vanished from the military base.
