CHAPTER 15: THE YOUNG MASTERS GET DEMOTED

When Cordell headed to his sleeping quarters, Muhali went to the mess hall where she sensed Dr Thomas Phillips. She saw him sitting alone with a stack of books in-front of him as he scribbled some notes in his diary. “I gather that when they said classified, this is not what you had imagined…” Muhali said as she sat in the chair that was in-front of the Doctor. The doctor turned pale the moment his eyes caught a glimpse of the individual that was addressing him. He frantically turned side to side looking to see if anyone else could see her or if he was going mad. All the soldiers in the mess hall seemed to be going about their normal business and no one else besides him seemed to be able to see her. “…are you satisfied?” asked Muhali. The doctor nodded his head like a child that was afraid of being given a hiding by his parents. “…good. I have assessed that you are a good individual who just happened to make the wrong judgement and trusted the wrong people. I have decided to give you the opportunity to correct those mistakes. I have also assessed that you do not believe that the Channidae want peace…” said Muhali. The doctor nodded his head again and Muhali continued saying: “Please pay close attention to what I have to say. There is a man on this base; his name is Agent Matthew Terrell Matthews. He is a secret service agent. You will tell him that Lieutenant Cordell Matthews is in danger. You will convince him to get someone who will protect him from a distance. No one besides you and I are to know of the plan to protect the Lieutenant. If he chooses to take this mater lightly you are to tell him that you have analysed me and found me to be a danger to the Lieutenant and that I have only one mission here on this base. And that mission is to exact revenge on the soldier that captured me. It does not matter what you say to him as long as the Lieutenant gets protection. Lastly and this is exceedingly important, if you see the Channidae Official turn around and go the opposite direction. Do not cross his path. He reads minds but he is not a pureblood which means he requires close proximity.” The doctor once again responded by nodding his head. Once Muhali had been assured of Varetu’s safety she went looking for the holding cells to find her people. They had not been tortured and they had refused to utter a single word to anyone. Once she found them, she knew where to teleport the jump bands. The outer armour of her corporeal self in the interrogation room activated itself and once more covered her whole body so that her energy form could beam the bands onto the captured inhabitants of Inthia. Once this had been done her energy form assured the captured Inthians that they would be leaving soon, either through the gate of the base or by jumping into the carrier that had been brought to rescue them. While her armour was deactivated, she could not communicate with Farisei and he could not see what was happening with her. Because her armour had been activated, she began saying in her pure energy form: “Farisei phase two is complete. Report…” Farisei was hesitant to speak but he could never hide anything from her because she would know even if he did not tell her. “Your highness, there has been a delay and we are yet to find Lukos. I have been in touch with your sister, and she has informed me that the Channidae have not yet moved.” Farisei replied to the order given by Muhali. As soon as he was finished speaking, he felt her presence behind him. He turned around and he saw her pure energy form with a livid demeanour. “The young masters…” she said as she paced in the room. “I apologise your highness for imposing them on you. I should have trusted your judgement to keep them at arm’s length. I had imagined that they would be somewhat proud because of the grandeur of their father and their family name. I had not imagined they would be recalcitrant and obstinate. They listen to no one. Why did you not tell me the real reason you had excluded them from the mission my princess?” said Farisei in an apologetic tone. “You are my elder and my teacher. I must bear all of your impositions without complaining. Furthermore there were lower ranking officers in the room and I did not want to contradict you thereby disrespecting your authority in their presence. And we had no time to speak in private…”. In Muhali’s life there were moments when people would look at her as if she were a completely different creature. She often left people dazed because of the maturity she sometimes displayed. Farisei gave her such a look as she continued saying: “…something has to be done about the young masters. Can you get hold of them for me?” Farisei placed the palm of his right hand on the black board and as he began to lift it the bright cube started levitating above the board. A layer of inner walls retracted from the walls and multiple monitors appeared before Farisei and Muhali. One of the monitors showed Rehsa, Varens and Kilnus. “My princess you are back!” exclaimed Varens with a joyful tone. “Look carefully brother. That is just a projection of Muhali, it is not actually her.” responded Kilnus. “It is me Master Kilnus. Both of you are part right. I am still prisoner at the earth military base; the form you are seeing now is my Ukuna form. But that is not the reason I contacted you. I contacted you for a status update regarding finding Lukos.” said Muhali in an authoritative tone. “Well my princess we are making progress, we have found several of his homes but we have not found him as yet. Give us err…” replied Kilnus to Muhali’s question. But before he could finish speaking Muhali interrupted him and began saying: “I understand that my masters are knew to our way of functioning. But we do not have the luxury of waiting for you to adjust. Our people’s lives depend on our success and how we manage the little time that we have. As we speak the Channidae have assembled an armada and divided it into three companies. We are yet to know when or where they wish to attack. So as of now masters Kilnus and Varens, I am placing Rehsa as the officer in charge of the mission to find Lukos…” “But my princess, we are the…” Kilnus interrupts before Muhali could finish speaking. “I am well aware of who you are Master Kilnus. On Thyatira you are the master trackers and the sons of Commander Kilnus. But in the shadow legion Rehsa is the master tracker. I had given you the opportunity to learn from her and work with her. But now it would seem you will now have the privilege of taking orders from her.” responded Muhali. After which she began moving at lightning speed working on the multiple monitors behind her. Stunned by the turn of events Varens asked his brother what the Ukuna form was. Kilnus began to remember that his father had told him about the special ability of the house of Kariai. Each pure blood family had a special ability or so his father had said. The house of Vadas had exceptional strength and speed which made them highly proficient in battle. Members of the house of Kilnus were exceptional trackers and they could find almost anyone or anything. The house of Kariai had an ability known as Ukuna, meaning purity. This ability allowed its user to absorb large amounts of energy, using this energy the user would project an energy form of themselves. This allowed them to be at multiple places at once or to execute multiple tasks at once. His father had also explained that this ability would require a highly skilled individual because it required the purest of energy to merge with one who had the purest of heart. Kilnus explained this to his brother and to Rehsa. Even though Rehsa had more intimate knowledge of Muhali, she had not witnessed Muhali’s Ukuna form. Seeing that Muhali was busy working, Rehsa laid out her plan to track Lukos for Farisei and the young Masters. She explained that in each of the homes they had found it appeared that Lukos had carefully planned to mislead them. But he was an Inthian and they had a special energy signature. She had brought one item from each home. And she would have the young masters scan for Lukos energy in each item. They would be able to determine the timeframe that Lukos was in the vicinity by measuring the strength of the energy signature. As soon as this was done they would be able to narrow down the location of where Lukos was more likely to have gone. As soon as Farisei and Muhali had approved the plan they disconnected the lines of communication.
