CHAPTER 14:CAPTURED PART 2

1466 Words
Muhali’s actiones rilled up the Channidae Official and he wanted to get under her skin. He had already been suspicious of the soldier who had captured her. In all his years as a Channidae Official he had not even caught a glimpse of her talk less of getting anywhere near capturing her. He wanted to get close to the soldier. Unravel the mystery that laid within the soldier, thereby getting closer to finding her weaknesses. He requested for the general of the base to call Cordell. Lieutenant Cordell Matthews was in the mess hall when the guards came and summoned him to the interrogation room. When he arrived in the monitoring area of the interview room, he was instructed to go with the doctor to interview the alien known as Kariai. The general also warned Cordell to keep a safe distance from her because she was considered very dangerous. Cordell calmly walked into the interview room where Muhali was being held accompanied by the doctor who had become jittery because of Muhali’s little prank. Instead of sitting in the chair which was situated opposite of the table and where Muhali had been sitting, Cordell took the chair and placed it right in-front of Muhali. “Are you ready to talk now?” Cordell asked in an unapologetic tone. “Are you ready to listen?” Muhali replied as she turned her attention to the doctor who had chosen to stay near the door “I apologise for the noise. I just wanted you to be silent. You have what we call too much oral output.” Muhali then turned to look at Cordell as she continued saying: “I have a request to make. I would like your leader to call on all the leaders of all the other nations so that they too can hear what I have to say. If this is not done, I will simply barricade the door again and continue to frighten you all in ways you have never encountered before.” As Muhali spoke the rest of her body armour retracted to the arm band on her right hand, revealing a much less armoured body suit underneath. She could hear the president hissing behind the mirror in protest to her request. But the Channidae Official confident of the outcome urged the president to brief all the other presidents and allow them to hear her statement. It took about three weeks for most leaders to agree to her request. She was very patient, and she used the time to assess the base and its security measures as well as exit points. While she waited and worked, she only ate fruits and water. When she could sense that most of the leaders were connected and could hear what she had to say, then and only then could the dialog begin: Cordell: “Tell me. Who are you really?” Muhali: “My name is Muhali Kariai of the royal house of Kareivis. I am the only pure blood daughter of his majesty King Kareivis and her majesty Queen Miera. I am crowned princess and protector of my home planet Inthia which is situated in a place you call the Triangulum galaxy. But we call it Keeper territory.” Cordell: “What are you doing here on earth?” Muhali: “Zeme is my territory. I am the keeper that protects it” Cordell: “Zeme? Keeper? Could you dumb it down for the rest of the class So you are not here to destroy us?” Muhali: “Zeme is our name for Earth. Keepers are superior beings that have abilities that far surpass natural inborne skills across species. And because of these superior abilities we-keepers protect lesser beings.” Cordell: “So what you are saying is that you are not here to destroy us?” Muhali: “If I wanted to destroy you there are many ways of doing so. And none of those ways include maintaining anonymity.” Cordell: “Who appointed you as protector of earth?” Muhali: ”The question you should be asking is how we were appointed as Keepers of Zeme.” Cordell: “Ok, so how were you appointed as Earth’s protector?” Muhali: “Think of it like your police precincts. We protect what is within our territories. Zeme falls in Inthia’s territory. Cordell: “Ok. I understand all that so far. But you have not explained what exactly it is that you are doing here on earth.” Muhali: “Simple. War” Cordell: “Wait. I thought that you said you were not here to destroy us.” Muhali: “And we are not. The war is not with you. It is with The Channidae. And if they are at war with us and you are in our territory, I am sure you can deduce what that means for you.” Cordell: “Why are you at war with them if both races are supposed to be Keepers of peace?” Muhali: “Although I cannot fully answer your question, I can tell you this. The Channidae are a perverse, blood thirsty power-hungry race. We refused to yield to their unreasonable and imposing whims as a result they kicked us out of their pathetic inner circle and declared war on us. But we will not yield to their bullying tactics. They can intimidate us all they want; it will only make us stronger and better. I will tell you this Maname I will not marry him. Not now, not ever and you-oh dear one who has lost all identity rights will pay dearly for the blood on your hands.” Muhali said the last statement as she was looking directly at The Official and Cordell was left very confused. As soon as Cordell had finished interviewing her he put the chair back where he found it and he left the room. The doctor followed suit since he was never going to allow himself to be left alone in the same room as Muhali. The Official still hadn’t figured out what it was that Muhali wanted from the earth soldier. He quickly devised a plan to find out. Muhali was hybrid which meant that her mind could not be penetrated, and her thoughts could not be read. But the human soldier would be primitive, and it would be easy to read his mind, or so he thought. He knew the soldier would come to the observation roof for further orders. When Cordell entered the observation room Muhali stood up and walked toward the glass wall. She stopped right in-front of the glass and she just stared at the Channidae Official. “How did you know she was done talking?” the Channidae Official asked Cordell. “How do we know you can be trusted?” Cordell replied with another question. Just as the base commander was about to reprimand Cordell for being brazen with The Official, he gestured with his hand to the base commander to indicate that there was no need. “So the dirty unworthy thing knows my name. Come with us willingly and we will spare this planet…” said the Channidae Official in Muhali’s dialect. Cordell knew that the Official was testing him; so he said: “…I beg your pardon!” “I am addressing the destroyer. Even though you and your people may think and see her as a child, the Channidae know better than to underestimate her.” said the Official. “I will not allow you to harm the people of this planet…” Muhali responded in their language. “You have no choice but to watch us burn this planet to ash, the same way you watched him die.” While the Channidae Official was speaking he was also attempting to search the Lieutenant’s mind with no avail. Seeing the Official’s frustration Muhali put on her sassy smirk, she shrugged her eyes and signalled with her head for the official to look over his shoulder. The Official turned around as if he was chasing his own shadow and standing next to the Lieutenant he saw Muhali in her pure energy form. She looked at him and she signalled with her index finger while wagging it left and right repeatedly as she said: “mxm… mxm… mxm… before making any threats you need to ensure you can protect yourself. I am no longer the little child I used to be. You saw to it yourself.” The Official turned around again, and he saw Muhali standing behind the glass still wearing her sassy smirk. Feeling enraged The Official ordered Cordell to go back as he had acquired all that he needed from him. As the Lieutenant left, Muhali’s energy form followed him out
