Blood and Life

...the winds are still; no motion through the trees. The waters calm, like ice on the mountains. Her body lay on top of the lake; small ripples forming here and there. Her body motionless as the water turns from crystal blue to blood stained red. Her skin pale as the winter driven snow. Her eyes empty of all life. The scent of her perfume still lingers in the air, like a fresh rose in bloom. He looks upon the water at her empty shell. He slowly walks through the water. He wraps his arms around her; holding her tightly. The blood stained water encircles him. He slowly walks to the edge of the lake, placing her body gently upon the cold ground. He runs his hand through her wet hair, placing his hand upon her cheek. His thumb running across her blue lips. He bites his wrist; savoring the succulently sweet taste. As he places his lips upon hers, he exchanges his blood with her cold, pale body. His blood races through her body faster then the speed of light. He watches as she takes her first breath. She sits up in a gasping panic; as her eyes go from stale grey to blood red, then fades to crystal blue. She looks at the blood stained water, then slowly looks to her wrists. She watches as her wounds slowly begin to heal by themselves. She looks slowly into his soft blue eyes; wondering why this man risked his love to keep her by his side, as she places her hand upon his cheek...
