Undeserved punishment
Rhea’s POV
“I’ve had enough of the stupid Fiery Moon’s wedding culture!” Alpha Aaron’s voice resounded from the corridor as his footsteps drew closer to the room where I sat on the bed, dressed in my wedding gown, with the veil covering my entire face.
He kicked the door like a raging stallion and stormed into the room, his fierce red eyes first scanning the four corners of the room before finally descending on me where I sat like a chick that had just been beaten by the rain.
“It’s been nine f*****g hours since our wedding! Why the f**k are you still covering your face with a veil?!” He roared.
“Please, be patient,” I uttered softly, “it’s just a matter of a few minutes now before you can see me.”
“How many?!” He demanded.
“Let’s say four, five, I think,” I answered.
“Fine!”
He dragged a medium-sized sofa close to him, effortlessly like he just pulled a pillow to him. Sitting on the sofa, he leaned forward, resting his jaw on the back of his palm.
He undid his wristwatch and dropped it on the floor. Burning with frustration and impatience, he expelled his breath in a slow, steady hiss, gaze directly fixed on me.
“You mentioned five minutes. I’ll give you ten,” he stated in a deep and hollow tone that told me he had already lost every virtue that had kept him waiting for the past few hours.
My heart thumped as my mind raced with a million thoughts. Why didn’t step-mom return to swap Elsa and I? The agreement was that I’d just stay in Elsa’s place until the ceremony was over.
What was her excuse again for not attending her wedding ceremony? That she had a stomach upset. How lame? Could it be that she had actually set me up? Anyways, there was no need to fret. Alpha Aaron would never settle for less. I knew that he’d send me back to the Fiery Moon pack the moment he discovered that I wasn’t the Elsa he wanted to marry.
The wristwatch between us started to beep all of a sudden and Alpha Aaron sprang up from his seat. I didn’t know he had set a timer.
“Now, open it up. Don’t test my patience,” he warned.
“It’s the groom’s duty to remove the veil. That’s our culture—”
“Don’t give me that crap!” He snapped, closing the gap between us with one giant gait. His eyes fiercely locked in on my face, he growled, “open it.”
My hands began to shake and my palms moistened up as I tried to remove the veil. I began to think again. What would he do if he saw that I wasn’t the Elsa he thought he had married? But I had my answer right before me, because this man looked like he could just rip me apart if his eyes met any disappointment.
Finally, the veil came off all of a sudden. But it wasn’t my doing — the furious Alpha standing before me had done so. His brows rose and my eyes widened as we saw each other beyond the walls of the veil I’d worn for the past few hours.
“What is this?” Alpha Aaron bellowed.
I bore no resemblance with my step sister, Elsa, except for our voices which couldn’t be distinguished even by my father.
“Who the f**k are you?!” He roared.
“My name is Rhea, sir!” I squeaked, “Rhea Glevessig.”
“Where the f**k is Elsa Glevessig? And, what the f**k are you doing in her place?!”
“She had a stomach upset, sir,” I answered, tears suddenly rolling down my eyes, “I didn’t mean to fool you.”
He paused, eyes wide open and inching closer, “did you say she had a stomach upset?”
“Yes, sir,” I faltered, wiping tears off my eyes. My whole I’d never been that terrified, not even by my father or my wicked step-mother.
“Guards!” Alpha Aaron roared, gazing fiercely into my eyes. As he waited for them to arrive, he growled, “you’ve done the worst thing anybody could do to me. You have incurred my wrath.”
“I’m sorry, sir. We just didn’t want you to feel disappointed at the wedding venue,” I cried out, my legs quaking beyond my control, “I swear with my life, I didn’t plan to deceive you.”
The door swung open and two men who looked like they were about ready to kill someone trooped in.
“Alpha Aaron,” they bowed their heads.
“Tie this filthy b***h up and send her to the execution ground!” He ordered.
The moment the two guards lifted their legs to come closer to me, I fell on the floor and began to beg.
“Please, don’t do this. Talk to my father; he has no idea that I was swapped with my sister,” I cried out, “don’t kill me, please.”
“Grab her legs and drag her out of here!” Alpha Aaron roared.
The guards dragged me all the way to the door before Alpha Aaron suddenly called them to a stop.
A terrifying smile crossed his face, changing his countenance.
"I think I understand what's going on now," he growled.
"Let go of her and quickly rush to Fiery Moon pack," he said to the guards, "send these words across to Alpha Sebastian, 'you married the wrong daughter to me.' Report straight back to me when you return."
The guards left the room and I was alone with the beast once again.
"I understand everything now," he laughed maniacally, "how could you sister develop a running stomach on the day of her wedding. You filthy wrench must have gotten envious that she was getting married to an Alpha, and so, you set up a plot to make her unfit for her day. What an crafty little fly you are."
"I never did anything like tha—"
He grabbed me by the throat before I could let out all the words, choking me between the grip of his palm and raising me up so that the tip of my toes barely grazed the floor.
"You don't dare speak when I speak," he squeezed my throat harder, "you only get to talk when I tell you to do so."
He let go of me and I dropped on the floor like a bag of flour. Then he smiled.
"I wonder why women easily get envious of each other — even your own blood," he said, putting his arms behind his back. He began to parade around the room from corner to corner, "I'm surprised you succeeded in deceiving me. But guess the good news? I didn't bring you here to become my Luna just as you might have thought. You're going to be my breeder. And my wolf even prefers you as a breeder over your sister."
My eyes bulged with surprise. Could it be that Elsa and Luna Zatanna were aware of this, and so, set me up to take her place? s**t! That was most certainly the reason behind her eating two bunches of bananas on the morning of her wedding. They played me so damn well.
Alpha Aaron began to clap his hands, giggling maniacally as he slowly approached me. And when he stopped right before me, with his huge shadow casting over my small self, he growled in a low voice, "you have deceived me and so, won't go unpunished. I have the right punishment for filth like you and it starts today."
