Snow Alpha

Chapter 20

(Currently Wednesday morning)

It's still dark when I get awoken, my room encompassed by the dark surroundings, the shadows unmoving. My waist is covered with my mate’s heavy arm, I gently move myself out of his hold and once I'm done I look at the clock and see it's 4.30am.

I sigh tiredly and go to the bathroom and dress myself, making myself look presentable for the newcomers. I was woken with a mindlink from one of the warriors telling me that they were nearly here, I need to be at the Social House for when they arrive. I walk back into my room and see Ashton wide awake, his eyes quickly searching for me, he relaxes once he sees my dressed state.

He scrunches his brows until realisation sets in and he is out the bed and getting dressed, "Were you about to leave without me?" He says.

I reply, "No, I was just getting ready and letting you sleep in a bit longer - I didn't want to disturb you."

He nods and we both silently just finish off getting ready, it's 4.45 by the time we have left the house. The sound of our shoes on the gravel is the only sound filling our ears as it's still early morning and not many people will be awake; we don't speak as both of us are still tired and not completely with it yet.

We get to the Social House just at the right time as we see one coach pulling up, many people climb out lethargically - obviously having been asleep beforehand. Also, up are James, Lily, Blake, Ella and some other warriors.

Lily and the warriors will be escorting the new pack to some houses for now, later we will get properly sorted, we just assumed they would want to go back to sleep after the long journey. The first coach is fully empty now and my members on it have acknowledged me, but I sent them off to bed, thankful of their tiring mission they've completed.

Within the next three hours, all but one of the buses have reached our pack and all the members are in a room - sleeping or whatever takes their fancy. Ashton and I thank all my warriors before dismissing them to bed, most of his members don't speak to us - they all nod at Ashton and smile happy to see their Alpha, they all look at me nodding also but nothing more. Most probably not knowing that I'm his mate, just being polite towards another Alpha - something you're taught to do since you're a pup. It's now 8am and Ashton, Blake, James and I are just waiting for the last coach - we're all wide awake and chatting between ourselves.

The crisp air encircles us, not making us cold but keeping us awake. We then all turn our heads when we hear the rumble of an engine, the black and white coach comes into view - we all await the stop of the coach as it gains ever closer.

Once it stops everyone looks alive and buzzing, all of them have slept for longer so I'm betting not as tired as the others. Most of the people stand around the Social House, obviously not needing anymore sleep, only around 10 people take the offer of going to a room. All of Ashton's members greet him excitedly, they then all proceed to nodding at me respectfully and I smile back at all of them, wanting to get on the good side of my soon to be members as well.

One more guy comes off the bus and Ashton and he envelop each other in a hug, patting each other's backs while greeting the other; I'm guessing this is Beta Nick as he emits power as well. He's not bad looking either, his green eyes complimenting his olive skin along with his shoulder length blonde hair, his teeth completely straight and white - a typical cool, bad boy in high school.

Once he's done greeting Ashton, he focuses his attention to me - his eyes widen and his smile increases. He then says to Ashton slyly, "You never mentioned how pretty she is mate, good one."

Ashton smiles and I laugh, loving him already. Jackson then emerges from behind us and comments, "She's the good one, you should've seen how she teased Ashton on the first day - all of us were speechless."

I blush from the compliments I'm receiving off the men, Ashton then states with a small smirk, "Looks like all of my pack mates are taking a liking to you dear."

I smile and give Nick and Jackson a small hug, already feeling like this pack join is a great idea. Ashton's pack members are mingling and socialising with my members that are now up, we escort them all to the Dining House and offer them breakfast which they all happily say yes to. I'm currently sitting at a table with Ashton, Jackson, Nick, James and Blake and it's lovely - I love the feel of mine and Ashton's members bonding.

We all casually have breakfast and chat with one another, many people coming and speaking to Ashton and me - still unknowing of our mate bond. It's now around 9.30am and most of Ashton's pack members are here and he then whispers to me, "Shall we tell them now?"

I look around at the mass of people and nod, him and I both discreetly walk to the stage just like the speech before in front of my pack, now it's his.

I start the speech, "Hello Lyndon Ridge Pack, and some of mine, hope you've all had a good journey. You all looked quite tired coming off the buses today, also hope you liked the temporary rooms. I say temporary as we will sort you out later into permanent and custom houses. I'm Alpha Adella, some may have heard of me, I welcome you all here with open arms and I'm going to now pass you onto Alpha Ashton. Nice to meet you all, if you need anything don't hesitate to talk to me, thank you." With that, I moved aside and let Ashton use the mic to address his pack.

"Hey guys, as Adella said hope you've all slept well and that the journey was okay. Hope you are all okay, I haven't seen you for about a week - feels like a long time. I have some big news to inform you on, some of you may have already guessed it but I will confirm your suspicions. This is now our pack lands and the pack already residing here will become our pack in the coming days, this has all happened because Adella is my mate - we are combining our packs. That's why you've all come here, and I thank you for cooperating with my requests about packing up and leaving in such short-term notice." Once Ashton said this, the hall erupted into loud whispers, many looking at Ashton then at me, many looking me up and down, some just staring at me.

"Okay calm down for a minute, I know it's exciting, but we can speak after. An important note, the houses are all being made for family or friend houses - but these won't be finished today so you will be staying in rooms until your certain home is completed. Your furniture, decor, clothes etc can all be purchased in the little town not too far from here or you can come and see Adella and see will be able to get you items from outside resources. For now, hope you enjoy the day and will speak more. As Adella said don't hesitate to come and speak to us and get a bit louder guys; at home you're never this quiet, this is home now." Ashton finishes, and we walk off the stage hand in hand, just like last time we are bombarded with questions, greetings, laughs, everything.

Any thought of Russell or the danger outside the mountains evaporated from my mind when I was speaking to all these wonderful people, they made me feel at home and very relaxed - what an Alpha should feel like with their pack. All my pack members seemed to be getting on well with Ashton's and this calmed me, I was worried there would be issues but there doesn't seem to be any.

Ashton and I socialise with many people, sometimes I speak to them singularly or we both speak to them - just all natural and unplanned. Ashton and I depart after around an hour of speaking to people so by the time we get back home it's around 10.45am. When we get back we both sigh and lazily plonk ourselves on the couch, both of us tired from the early start and the energy to speak to everyone.

We turn on the TV to a music channel and sigh contently; we lie in each other's arms and listen to the light sound of the music. Both of us lie there, completely happy with the present situation, then sleep opens the door for us and we both walk into the never-ending darkness.
