Chapter 1: This is Good Bye
~I can’t believe I am pregnant. He might love me now that I am having his baby. ~ Ariella Pierce was looking at the pregnancy test that was in her hand and had a big smile on her face.
Her husband, Alexander Pierce, was the CEO of Solar Nexus, a tech company that had just gone international, so he had been too busy to spend quality time with his wife, so she thought. They had been married for three years and Ariella had fallen in love with him over that span, yet Alexander did not reciprocate the same feelings for Ariella.
Ariella left the bedroom bathroom and made her way to Alexander’s office to see if he was there. On her way she ran into someone that she was hoping was not going to be there. Gabriella Ramirez, who fancied herself a model, with her brown hair, almost brown olive eyes, tan skin, and her skinny figure.
Ariella had the privilege of seeing Gabriella work and, let's just say when she was supposed to pose with her hands softly up above her head and look straight at the camera, she had her chin down almost to the point where she looked like she was looking down. One point, she even started touching her face and, when she needed to act happy and in love, she looked like someone had peed in her coffee cup.
“Ariella, you know that Alexander loves me more than you and that he made a mistake marrying you.” Arielle looked at Gabriella like she was crazy. She was aware of his infidelity and yet, because of her kind and forgiving personality, she had managed to turn a blind eye to the situation, but her friends and family were not happy that she did that.
“Gabriella, what are you doing here?” Gabriella smiled with her red lips. “I am waiting for Alexander to come home.” Ariella was confused. “I mean what are you doing at the edge of stairs it’s not safe.” Gabriella looked down and had a grin on face that said she was up to something. That was when the door to another room opened, and a maid began to walk out. Tears began to well in Gabriella’s eyes. “Ariella, I am so sorry I did not mean to come here. I know that I am not wanted here, but can you please forgive me for the things I have done to hurt you”. With that, she fell down the stairs as Ariella reached out to grab her. The servant saw Gabriella fall and quickly ran over to see if she was okay, giving Ariella a nasty look. Ariella made her way down the stairs but did not say a word. She knew Gabriella was a chronic liar. It was the only way she could get Alexander’s attention.
Not a second later, after Gabriella fell down the stairs, Alexander walked in through the front door of their mansion and saw Gabriella lying on the floor. “What happened?” Tears were still falling down Gabriella’s face. “It was my fault I should not have come here.” She began to sob. The maid looked at Alexander. “Ariella pushed her down the stairs. Gabriella came looking for you and Ariella got mad and pushed her.” Alexander's blue eyes turned cold as he looked at Ariella. Ariella looked down, gripping the pregnancy test tighter. Her thin frame began to shake. She was getting mad, but she was trying to hide it. “Don’t be mad at her, though, I don’t know if baby is okay.”
That got Alexander’s blood boiling. “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU WOULD PUSH A PREGNANT WOMEN DOWN THE STAIRS! APOLOGIZE NOW!” Yelled Alexander. Something inside Ariella broke. There was a sharp pain in her chest as she gripped her own pregnancy test tighter. Her own eyes became cold as she looked up at her husband. “I am not going to apologize for something I did not do nor am I going to play this home wrecker’s game. I thought I could try and make you love me, but I was a fool. I want a divorce. I will have my lawyers send you a copy tomorrow.” Alexander looked at Ariella in shock. This was not the woman he had married three years ago. Ariella had been quiet and shy when they had first met and he kind of did not have a choice in the matter. One of his clients had said he would not sign a contract with him unless he was married. “Max, call for an ambulance right now.” Max, Alexander’s assistant, had walked up with a phone to his ear. “Already on it Sir.” He felt bad for Ariella because he had seen the way she has been treated. He looked at Ariella. “Would you like me to call you a cab, Ms.….” Ariella dropped her pregnancy test on the floor as she walked out. “No thank you Max I have my own ride coming for me.” With that, she left.
The ambulance arrived to take Gabriella to the hospital. Alexander followed by stepping on the pregnancy test that Ariella had dropped, not even bothering to look down. As Max began to follow out as well, he bent down to pick up the test and was shocked to see it was positive. He put it in his pocket and went out the front door.
