Confrontation

Melissa looked at the girl that she had protected in her previous life and ended up paying dearly with her own life. Its day one of the three final high school examination. She never expected to find her waiting for her at the gate of Crawdshaw high school where she saw placed at. She had to bite her teeth not to scream at her or rip her head off for what she had done in her previous life. She remembered that she wrote her high school final exams in their school in her previous life. Mel just wanted to leave behind everything and start over in a place far away from this drama and heartache. She won't pretend to be overly chummy with the girl in front of her nor does she want anything to do with her. So she just ignored her and went inside the school in search of her exam hall. There's still an hour and half before the exam, so chose to go early like the rest of the students who were very nervous about it. Mel has always gotten A's in everything she did all her life and won countless competitions through out the entire schooling in hopes that her father would treat her like his daughter. But like all the other blind attempts from her, Thomas never gave her even a glance or attend any of her important moments. She did feel all those stares everyone was giving her. Her foster father went on a rampage to destroy her reputation because he believes that mel has no evidence of what happened to her during her stay at the mansion. Some of the evidence will be released as soon as the exam begins so it does not affect her. Soon the bell rang and everyone went to their sits. Melissa wrote all of her exams despite the feeling of eyes all over her. She saw how those eyes changed from disgust to sympathy. Even the teacher who was glaring at her with hatred was now ridiculing her to all of her friends. Blaming her without reason. Mel even thought that she was one of the one who had a crush on that man. She sighed as she placed down her pen. She didn't finish writing early like the previous exams because of the familiar essay question. She didn't know how to write it just like her previous life. She wrote what she thought best, she wasn't too confident about it. No one was ever able to answer it. She'll get into her ideal school regardless. The teacher who was mocking her collected her sheets and sneered when she saw the last question. She handed it to the man sent from the ministry of education to collect the sheets. The 360° camera is there to prevent any form of cheating. The invigilator is especially trained for that. She realized that she was the last student remaining and shook her head. She gathered her stuff and slowly walked out of the hall with nostalgia , thinking of what could have been and all the regrets she had. This day was the last day she'll ever be here. This city has brought her nothing but pain, bone chilling pain. She was about to walk out of the school when a hand grabbed her. She was too engraved in her memories that she didn't notice her surroundings. A group of girls were waiting for her at the gate. They weren't allowed to cause trouble during the examination so ignored them and walked towards her uncle's car. " Hey sis. How are you?" an annoying voice yelled. Melissa ignored her and continued walking. She was really tired after all the strenuous activity from coming here. Elsa saw that she was ignoring her and ran after her. " Move" Melissa spat out. Those who were familiar with the both of them were taken aback. Today was the last day so they had more free time as they headed towards the gate. " Why are you acting like this Mel" Elsa said in a soft voice. " Miss, the car is waiting for you. " A bodyguard quickly ran in front of Melissa protectively. " Go ask yourself that Elsa. Thank you for being a friend these past few years. " Melissa smiled slightly and walked past Elsa. If anyone was close enough, they could have seen the deep hatred that passes through her eyes as she said that. " Where are you going? " Elsa panicked when she saw her leaving. " Home, where else can i go? " She replied nonchalantly. " You can't just leave like this?!!" She yelled. " Why not? " Mel asked " Can you please let my mom and me stay in that house until we sort things out? " She asked desperately. " What house? " Mel asked with a frown knowing full well which house she was talking about. " The house we live in. " Elsa said forgetting that they were surrounded by people. " Why would i have a say in what house you and aunty live in? " Mel asked impatient. " Uncle Thomas was the one who gave it to my mom on your behalf " Elsa said. " Why would that man give aunty my house? Anyway, anything that involves my inheritance is being handled by my lawyer. Call my uncle for more information. As you can see, i am still in a bad condition. You would have known that had you visited me once when i was hospitalized. can i go now? " Melissa said. " My mother wouldn't let me come , okay. Please, i beg you. My mother had no idea uncle was that kind of person. " Elsa panicked. " I see that she hasn't told you yet. " Mel knew that it wasn't time to reveal all of these at the moment. " Told me what? " Elsa couldn't help but ask. " She'll be testifying against me in court in a week. I still don't know what she will say considering the fact that i know nothing about her and have only seen her once in my life. That man has a lot of properties in his name, why would he give your mother a house that wasn't his to begin with? " Mel said as she gestured to her bodyguard. She knew that someone was recording a video, probably going to sell it to the media. She was right. Someone was indeed taking a video but she was live. Not only that, several journalists were hiding among the students. The Humphrey case was a big one as he was a well known figure in the city. The caught the hints she gave and started digging on the history of Elsa 's mother with Thomas Humphrey. Layla, Elsa's mother was furious after she received a call from her friends who knew that she was seeing Thomas. She was just about to catch a break when one of her friends sent her a link to the live broadcast. She fainted right there and then. This home was her pride as it was one of the best among the city. She'd always showed it off and this idiotic daughter had to go and let the world know that it wasn't hers!!
