Rainie's POV "Why did you take so long?" Peter ladled a bowl of hot soup for me. "Here, warm up. Don't catch a cold. Your nose is all red, like you've been crying." I hastily cupped the bowl and took a sip to hide my feelings. However, the soup was just ladled from the pot and extremely hot. As soon as my lips touched it, I winced in pain. "How did you forget to blow on it? You seem so absent-minded, Rainie. What's wrong?" Peter noticed the unease in my eyes, and his smile gradually faded. Ben's gaze became more discerning, locked onto my face. "Um... Dad, I have to make a quick trip to the office later. My boss called and said there's an issue with something..." I mumbled, cheeks flushing, unsure if it was due to the lie or the hot steam from the boiling pot. Peter remained silent
