A certain peace falls over us as we silently prune the bushes, occasionally making small talk. It’s the only fun I’ve had in days.
Hours pass, and Selene returns with a box filled with tiny vial-like bottles of peculiar liquid.
The look of it is suddenly so familiar, drawing my eyes toward it, rendering me completely unable to focus on the work anymore.
I reach for one while they continue their discussion.
