CHAPTER THREE

My mind raced about my father. The only thing I knew was he was a demon. Hence, making me a demon in the process. But that was all, my mother never showed me anything about him.

Not even a freaking picture of him. Even when I asked her about the family of my father, she never showed me. She kept the information bottled up.

But I will find out after I deal with my current problem. I can’t get into something else while I have werewolves on my tail.

“Is there something you want to say to me”? she asked. I sighed and said,

“mom why do you stress yourself out so much”, as I said earlier,

“I was being chased by a dog then I fell, Don’t you trust me, mother”?

“Look my child, I love you and care about you a lot”, she said. And went on to say,

" if there’s any problem, you can tell me, I’m not ready to lose you, you’re the only one I have".

She looked so sad like she knew something was happing but couldn’t help me. She stretched her hands, held my shoulders, and said,

“promise me you won’t keep secrets from me” I smiled and said,

“I promise mom, now don’t worry, okay? Hey!! I’m starving, isn’t there something to eat?” I asked.

“I prepared something in the kitchen for you, go on and eat something.“

I grabbed my plate of food and headed to my room,

“I think I’m just going to eat from my room”!! I shouted. When I entered the room.

It felt like someone had been there. I looked around and saw no one. I looked through the window and saw nothing suspicious.

As I walked towards my bed, I saw a piece of paper laying on it. I rushed to it, grabbed it and saw that it was a note. Which said IM WATCHING YOU.

I was rendered powerless, failing to understand how they could have known my home. Mom!!!, I ran downstairs to see if she was okay calling out to her.

“Are you okay”? did anyone come here?

“No one is here. What’s wrong? What’s happening? you’re scaring me, lukundo.”

“Uh. Oh, oh my, I’m sorry mom, I overreacted. See what happened was, uh, I dozed off and I must have dreamt something happened so I thought it was happening”.

“Are you sure you’re okay”? she asked.

“Yes mom I am, I think I just need to get some rest. I’ll be in my room.”

I ran off, to avoid more questions. After seeing that note, I knew that it was serious and I just had to meet up with the alpha.

The following morning, I woke up thinking about what was going to happen when I finally meet the alpha. But as usual, I had to go to school first.

On my way to school, I met up with James.

“Lukundo!!!, he shouted, while running to catch up with me.

“Why have you been ignoring me? I’ve been trying to call you and text you but you don’t respond to either,” He said.

“I’m sorry, I’ve just been occupied lately, I barely had time for myself”.

I couldn’t tell him what had happened, I couldn’t tell him I was, you know, a demon.

“Okay, I get that, so. Can we hang out today?”

“Unfortunately today’s not a good day, I’ve got other plans, oh s**t I’m late for class. I’ll see you later James,” I said as I quickened my pace.

Little did I know that I was walking into problems. The previous day, this girl by the name of Suwilanji and I got into an argument.

She seemed to have liked James and she didn’t like the fact that I hung out with him. Suwilanji has been my rival for a long time, we’ve never been on good terms. Although I must say.

She was quite all that, her irises were the color of glass in old coke bottles, highlighted by orange lashes and brows.

Her skin was as smooth as a baby and her hair was just perfect. As I was rushing to class, I bumped into her.

“Oh my goodness. You again. Why is she everywhere?” muttering to herself.“

“look, I don’t have time for your stupidity today, and I’m not in the mood” I stormed out.

I went on and attended my lessons. The lesson was almost finishing then, an announcement was passed on, to say.

Someone had lost their phone and there would be an inspection. Nobody knew the person that owned the missing phone.

The principal walked into our classroom and said,

"I’m pretty sure you all, heard the announcement, so, there be no need of explaining what’s happening, I expect everyone to be ready for inspection".

To everyone’s surprise, the all-mighty Suwilanji walked in and turned out to be the person that owned the stolen phone.

“Oh no, why is this girl full of drama,” I rolled my eyes.

The principal called one of the female lecturers, Mrs. Mubanga to help inspect the girl’s bags. The searching began, and I just wanted it to be over and done with because I found it irritating.

It was time to search my back, so I confidently handed it over to the lecturer. She opened the bag and began her search.

Suddenly, she looked at me, her face pinched with disappointment, and I knew something was wrong.

“What’s wrong Mrs. Mubanga? Why do you look like that? Is everything okay” I started panicking.

Before she could say anything, the principal and suwilanji walked towards us.

“Why did you stop,” the principal asked and he seemed to have been upset because the drama that was going on wasted his time.

“I, I believe, I found something here Mrs. Mubanga said.

She reached out to it and took it out of my bag, well you guessed it, it was suwilanjis phone. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I was so sure that I had not done anything, so I was in shock when I saw the phone come out of my bag.

“I knew it!!, only Lukundo is capable of doing such a thing,” She shouted on top of her voice.

I sat for a moment, hands trembling, breath coming in ragged gulps. It all happened so fast that I didn’t even know how I was going to explain myself.

“I swear I did not put that in my bag, I didn’t even know that it was there”.

My hands trembled even more.

“Lukundo, my office, now!!. The principal deepened his voice gravelly and walked out of the classroom.

I had no idea of how I was going to clear my name, but I still walked out the door closing it behind me as I followed the principal to his office.

“You called for me sir?” I slowly moved closer.

“Lukundo, I’m very disappointed in you. You know very well that we have a strict policy about stealing here,” he said while pouring coffee in his mug cup.

“Sir, you have to believe me, I did not steal that phone, someone must have placed it in my bag without me looking”.

“But the evidence leads to you and everyone from your class being a witness, I guess you know what happens when you steal isn’t It?”

I went down on my knees pleading,

“Please sir, I’ve just been framed, I didn’t do anything, I’m innocent. You’ve known me for a long time, you know I can’t do such a thing right”?

“I’m sorry, but because everyone saw what happened, I just have to suspend you”.

I tried to reason with him, but he couldn’t listen to anything I said. I was suspended for a month for something I didn’t do.

As I walked out the door, I saw suwilanji looking all happy and all, like she wanted me to be in trouble. I just knew she had done something wrong.

I immediately approached her and said,

“I know what you did, you put your phone in my bag didn’t you?” She burst into laughter and said,

“you little piece of s**t, you thought you’d steal my phone and get away with it, not on my hand”, and walked away laughing.

Anger stirred within me that I clenched my fists, I felt bubbling fury inside my guts that threatened to erupt out of them.

At that point, I lost control of my power that the demon in me just acted out. I demon grabbed her and threw her to the wall. At that point, all I wanted was to hurt her so bad.

As I tried to throw a fireball at her, I heard a tiny voice inside of me telling me to control myself. But I just wanted to obliterate her. To finish her up.
