Chapter 21
Lower East Side: Stanton Street
Johnny's men easily found both of the lieutenant's houses. They staked outside of each, hoping that sooner or later, one of the officers would show up.
They were soon rewarded when they saw a man approaching that corresponded with the description they had, and who was accompanied by two men. They watched them creep into the entrance of the building.
The instructions they were given were clear: before acting, they were supposed to contact Joe Santini. “Boss, this is it. It's Ramirez, but he's not alone...”
Johnny was suddenly animated with a spark of excitement.
“Do they look armed?”
“The way they're holding they're jackets, I would swear on it. Should we keep with the plan?”
“Ya, just be careful.”
