At the night of our wedding, right after he got off my bed, my husband went to fight with the wolf pack.

Two years later, eventually I got him back, but he told me he wanted to marry another woman!

Chapter 1 Two Wives
Two years ago. "Nola Olley, love me. I will be forever loyal and never betray you." Amid the bustling wedding, Sean Buren's vow, like a devout prayer, rang in my ears. I wrapped my arms around his neck, found his lips, and kissed him. The guests erupted in wild cheers, and Sean, even more excited, swept me off my feet, kissing me deeper. The taste of rum filled my mouth. Sean had drunk a lot at today's wedding. After the kiss ended, Sean was reluctant to let go of me. He spun me around a few times, gazing at me with affection and saying, "Nora, you are the love of my life. I will never betray you!" This was the second time he mentioned the word "betrayal." Why would he bring it up at the wedding? A sense of ominous premonition flashed through my mind, but I quickly brushed it aside. Werewolves' loyalty to their mates is ingrained in their blood. I believed he was just too happy and didn't know how else to express his joy. Sean's behavior confirmed my thoughts. During the ring exchange, his hands trembled uncontrollably, and by the end, he was in tears, earning another round of enthusiastic applause from the guests. I was also touched, thinking that he must really love me. To repay his love, I decided to love him as he said, wholeheartedly. And so, before all the guests, Sean and I exchanged our vows, pledging never to betray each other. "You are my treasure, Nora, and I will treat you as such. Forget about those sad things, darling." That night, Sean and I lay naked in bed. He took my hand and placed it on his burning chest. Sad things... did he mean the deaths of my father and older brother, and my mother crying and begging me to get married and stop going to the battlefield? Sean saw the sorrow in my eyes and kissed the tear from the corner of my eye, full of tenderness. His hand roamed my body, kneading and caressing, his calloused fingertips sending shivers down my spine. The room was immersed in a faint scent of rose. Silk sheets shimmered softly under the sensual lighting. "Baby, you're so beautiful," Sean's lips slid from my neck to my collarbone. Everywhere they touched, it burned with heat. A flush spread across my face, my heartbeat quickened, and I felt as though I was floating in an endless ocean. Waves came crashing, one after another. Fearing I might drown, I clung tightly to Sean's neck, responding passionately to his movements. Pheromones filled the air, blending with the scents of vanilla and amber, enveloping the room in a sultry atmosphere. Sean's tenderness gradually faded as his actions grew more fervent. I gasped as I left trails of claw marks on his back. Just as he was about to mark me, a harsh ringtone pierced the air. Sean ignored it, closing his eyes and searching for my lips, then raining fiery kisses upon me. The phone rang again and again. Sean swore in frustration, grabbing the phone. The moment was interrupted. I awkwardly pulled the blanket over my body. Sean answered the call, his expression growing increasingly serious. "What happened?" I asked, a strong sense of unease rising in my chest. "There's trouble at the border. I need to go immediately," Sean said apologetically. The Alpha of the tribe to which Sean belonged had suddenly died, and he was called upon to take command—an unrefusable task. "Sorry I can't give you a perfect wedding night. When I return, I'll make it up to you." Sean kissed me tenderly one last time, then quickly got dressed and left. I listened to the sound of drums outside, signaling the gathering of the army. I gritted my teeth and realized I couldn't just stay safely behind. I changed into one of Sean's outfits, trying to sneak into the army that was preparing to leave. Unfortunately, my acting was poor, and I was immediately spotted by a burly werewolf. He was in combat gear, his deep eyes the only thing visible as he coldly looked at me and said, "Nora, live well and be safe. Don't let your father and brother's sacrifice be in vain." He actually knew my name, but I didn't recognize him. Although his attitude toward me was harsh, his actions were surprisingly considerate. He personally escorted me back home. The neighbor told me he was the Alpha of Silver Wolf Tribe and a former comrade-in-arms of my father and older brother. I watched his tall, muscular figure as he walked away. Without realizing it, tears filled my eyes. I clasped my hands together, praying earnestly. 'Moon Goddess, you have already taken my father and brother. Please protect my husband Sean, and also protect him... As for me, I will wait here as they wished, forever, until our warriors return safely!' ***** After two whole years of waiting, Sean was finally coming back! I stood on the rooftop of a tall building, my gaze lost among the neon lights flickering between the skyscrapers in the distance. My phone screen lit up occasionally with incoming messages, but I wasn't in the mood to check them. The conflict between the Moonshadow Tribe and the Northern Wolf Clan had dragged on for two whole years. Two years ago, it was our wedding night. Sean had barely climbed out of our bed when he left with the tribe's army. According to the plan, Sean should arrive in Alestra tonight, back by my side. It was almost midnight, and there was still no sign of him. Worry and fear started gnawing at me, reminding me of that terrible day three years ago... When I came back from studying abroad, I was greeted by the shattered remains of my father and brother. I paced the rooftop, anxiety tightening my chest. Then, suddenly, the unmistakable hum of helicopter blades reached my ears. I looked up and spotted the chopper coming closer, the wolf-head emblem on its side catching the light. 'He's back!' I screamed in my heart. That long-awaited figure stepped out of the cabin and walked toward me with the same sharp suit and confident stride. A smile tugged at my lips, yet I didn't even realize it. "Hi, Nola," he spoke first, but there was something off in his voice, like a distant chill I couldn't quite place. "Sean, welcome home," I said with a smile as I rushed into his arms. But he gently pushed me away, his face serious. "I need to tell you something." "Yeah?" "Aliya and I are getting married." His words hit me like a sledgehammer, knocking the air out of my lungs. The world started spinning around me. "Excuse me?" I could hardly trust what I heard, and my voice trembled. "What did you just say?" "I said, I'm going to marry Aliya," he repeated matter-of-factly. I forced myself to breathe and stay composed. "Aliya? The new recruit from Moonshadow?" "Yeah." "If I'm not mistaken, she's a beta. She did something big for the tribe this time and has a bright future. Is she really gonna step down and be your mistress?" I asked in confusion. "No, not a mistress," Sean snapped, clearly annoyed. "I'm an alpha, and she'll be my mate. We're having a real wedding, and everyone's gonna know about it." Mate... Werewolves got only one mate for life. The fact that he said this showed he was serious. "Funny, because two years ago, you told everyone I was your mate," I said, trying to keep my voice steady as I met his gaze. "There's no bond between us, Nola. I never marked you. I can change my mind now. And soon enough, no one will remember our relationship." His words cut through me like a knife, slicing straight into my heart. I thought back over the last two years, all the things I'd done for the Buren family—handling their affairs and taking care of his mother. Everyone knew I was supposed to marry Sean. "When you proposed, you promised me that you'd only love me, and you'd never change." I could still remember the sincerity in his eyes when he proposed to me. It was because of that earnest look that my mother chose him, allowed him to be the son-in-law of the Olley family, and made him the second-in-command of the Moonshadow Tribe. "I didn't know what real love was back then," Sean said, impatience creeping into his tone. "Not until I met Aliya." I felt a wave of nausea wash over me, my stomach churning. "Does your mother even know about this? Does she agree?" "She likes Aliya very much. Ever since Aliya started visiting her, she's been getting better." I could barely keep my anger in check, thinking about all those days and nights I spent looking after his mom. All my efforts and sacrifices were a joke now. He actually believed his mother's improvement was because of Aliya's visits. Swallowing down the rage and pain rising in my throat, I forced myself to speak calmly, "I see. Can I meet Aliya?" Sean frowned and asked, "Why would you wanna meet her? She's not like you. Aliya's spent her whole life fighting for the Moonshadow Tribe, and she's simple and innocent. She doesn't have time for your games." His words stung like a slap across my face. I felt lightheaded, but I gritted my teeth and fought to stay steady. "Look, Sean, I won't do anything to her. Just let me meet her." "No." His refusal was firm and cold. "I don't need you to get involved in anything between me and Aliya." "Alright," I whispered, my voice barely audible. I was worn out from the weight of it all. Sean seemed relieved, like he'd finally gotten what he wanted. He turned to leave, but then something struck me. "Sean," I called out. He paused his steps and glanced back over his shoulder. I asked, "Do you remember what you told me two years ago? Right before you left?" He frowned, thought for a while, and then shook his head. A bitter smile tugged at my lips, and I said, "You said you are sorry for not giving me the perfect wedding night, and you'll make it up to me when you come back." Sean scowled and answered, "Things are different now, Nola. Without Aliya, I wouldn't even be alive. She's my real love. And besides, I'm not trying to get rid of you. Mr. Smith's already approved it—I'm allowed to have two wives now. That's the reward Aliya and I earned with our contribution." I just stood there, completely frozen. 'Two wives? Does he even know what he's talking about?' I thought. 'Werewolves are supposed to be loyal to their mates. What kind of wolf thinks they deserve two wives?'
