Night Hunt
“Alice, on the roof, go now.” Jax pointed towards the roof tops where their current target was trying to make a break for it. Alice nodded, breaking off from the group into one of the houses. The rest followed on foot, not letting the man out of their sight for a moment. A few blocks ahead they split up, Jax taking two guys with him while the other three went ahead to try and cut him off. The man they were currently in pursuit of was a well known d**g smuggler, number one on the city's wanted list. The local city Lord put up a bounty of 500 gold pieces for capturing him something Jax as a mercenary would certainly find quite helpful. He had immediately gathered his crew, his loyal friends and immediately started gathering any sort of information he could get until the previous night they discovered his hide out. However someone must have tipped the guy off because as soon as they came busting down his door he was making his escape marking the beginning of the chase. The group had to give the dealer some credit, he was fast and he worked every street corner so easily, it was clear he was well accustomed to the place. No wonder he couldn't be caught. But his luck had ran out tonight. Jax was known for getting the job done and he wasn't going to let anything stop him. The guy looked behind and could see a woman trailing him along the roofs, another group down on the streets. He jumped off the roof into an alley he was well farmiliar with and pushed through the door infront of him. Alice followed him, making her jump so effortlessly and pushed through the same door but immediately stopped when multiple blades were pulled out against her. She could see three people, all ready to pounce on her. But before they could do anything three more people entered, and Alice took the chance, ramming the middle one down while he was stupefied and contuniuing her chase. Her allies didn't waste any time immediately subduing the three and tying them up. It was a pretty easy takedown for them. The dealer had gone round the building, his aim was to exit through the door on the west side and crawl into the ancient sewer systems where multiple criminals had set up exit points out of the city. As soon as he opened the door he felt like crying. The other group that had gone up ahead was waiting for him. He didn't bother putting up a fight, it was three against one, he wasn't going to win. Reagan stepped forward binding the guy's hands with a piece of rope while Lexy searched him for weapons. She took from him a dagger and a tiny bag of esquil, one of the most powerful drugs on the planet, usually harvested deep in rainforests from the esquil plant. That one bag she found was enough to get someone hooked on it for a month. It would have fetched quite the fortune for him but today luck wasn't on his side. Eventually Alice caught up with them and soon after Jax and the rest followed. “Looks like we got bonuses. I wonder if we can get something for them,” he said, pushing forward the three they had caught. One of them was a woman. “Let's turn them in quick and go get us some drinks to celebrate,” Ivan said making the rest of them cheer out loud. “Keep it down fools, it's still the middle of the night,” Alice scolded. “Don't be such a downer Alice, how else are we supposed to get you a man,” Erwin said right before Alice took out her dagger and pressed it against his throat. “Did I tell you I want a man?” She asked him. “Come on Alice, it's a joke,” Erwin pleaded while the others laughed at him. “Stand down Alice,” Jax grabbed her shoulder, “We shouldn't be wasting time here. Let's get this over with, personally I want a good night's sleep.” “Yeah, plus we all know she's got her eyes on Reagan,” Lexy added playfully making Alice shoot her a glare. “What?” Reagan asked absent mindedly, he wasn't really paying attention to their little argument. “I was saying–” “Nothing, she was saying nothing, right Lexy?” Alice's cold look made Lexy swallow her words, but the grin on her face remained. “That's enough, grab them and let's get going,” Jax said. They took their three captives and marched them to the city guard Outpost. Lexy's words still burned in her ears and she snuck a glance at Reagan. She felt her cheeks burn up and immediately looked away. It was all Lexy's fault for this and she would have her revenge. Her words made her so concious of him right now. She wasn't sure if it was true or not. Out of the group she did get along with him the best. While the others tried to flirt and get her attention, all he did was train with her. They'd go hunting together most of the time and he taught her how to use a bow and skin animals. After they'd hunt they would sell all their game at the market and get some lunch and just casually talk. Not once did he flirt with her and make her feel uncomfortable. Eventually Lexy started teasing her about it. At first she chased her down and smacked her head a couple of times but she didn't care that much. After that everytime they went out together Lexy's words would play in her mind and even the slightest touch from him made her flinch. Lexy could see right through her and nudged her elbow at her side and gave her a wink. It annoyed the hell out of Alice making her shake her head to clear her mind. But she did it a little too furiously making Reagan take notice. “You okay Alice?” He startled her. “Me? I'm fine...thanks for...asking,” her voice was slightly shaky making Lexy giggle. Alice couldn't handle the pressure and walked faster to the front of the group, surprising Reagan. “What's with her?” he asked Lexy. All she did was giggle even more before saying, “Don't worry, she'll tell you when she's ready.” Reagan couldn't help but think how complicated girls were. They turned in the smuggler and got their reward plus an extra seventy for the three crooks. They headed over to the inn they were staying at for the time being and had themselves a night filled with a lot of drinking and noise. Only Jax and Reagan maintained their cool, not taking as much beer as the rest. For some reason today, Alice drank way past her usual limit of a glass. Her reason was pretty obvious to Lexy, she wanted to get her mind off Reagan. By the end of the night Jax and Reagan had to drag six drunks to their room of which only the girls safely made it to their rooms. They got tired dragging Ivan and Finn and left them in the middle of the hallway. Erwin was abandoned right at his seat, Jax taking all their money to make sure they didn't get robbed while passed out.
