An unexpected offer
It was a warm day of 35 degrees with a relaxing, and a gentle breeze blowing every now and then. We see a young man sitting in his front yard enjoying a cup of iced tea and a simple, yet delicious apple pie, while reading a good and rather intellectually-stimulating book. This man lives in the town of Stoveza within Serkia. Serkia, you see is located between Greece and Serbia, and it's inhabitants while peaceful are renowned as fearsome warriors. Most of them were descended from people such as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, while others were immigrants who emigrated there for more peaceful lives; however, all Serkians were farmers in their own respective rights.
The Serkians lived simple lives and that's exactly how they liked it. No stress, no worries, just happiness, and relaxation most days. Adventures and excitement rarely have any place in the life of a Serkian, but that isn't to say that it doesn't happen. For one Serkian will go on an adventure to last a lifetime. As if it were rehearsed an older-looking gentleman (somewhere in his middle-40s) came up to a specific Serkian household and asked"Pardon me, I was wondering if you could tell me as to where I am." The Serkian looked up from his book and said "Why you are in the lovely town of Stoveza. Now, who might you be? If you don't mind my curiosity that is." The old man gave a polite smile and said "I am Eutropius the wise and I know exactly who you are Edmund Clotfin, descendant of Leonidas. After all, you're a spitting image of your great-great-grandfather." Edmund asked Eutropius "How do you know who I am and who my great-great-grandfather is? My family has had any contact with Sparta since the battle of Thermopylae when my great-great-grandfather and his army of 300 bodyguards died while fighting Xerxes and the Persian Army."
Eutropius told Edmund "I was the one who led your great-grandfather to Serkia. I also notice that you have your family's crest and motto on your door. The Eagle holding a Gladius, a noble symbol. Your motto is also interesting. Quia gloria et honore familiae et patriae. I believe it means 'Honor and Glory for Family and Country in Latin. Am I correct?" Edmund was dumbfounded. This man claimed to have known his great-grandfather and knew what his family coat of arms was and what their motto was in Latin.
Eutropius said, "I have an offer for you." Edmund cautiously asked, "What sort of offer?" Eutropius told him "I recently learned that your mother was Julius Caesar's daughter. So I checked your family tree and I found out that you are also related to Caesar. In fact, Caesar is your Grandfather. So my offer is that if you join me on an adventure, and I'll tell you all about your heritage. " Edmund was shocked, he knew that he was related to a great king, but a renowned warrior like Caesar? Something was up and he knew it. Eutropius then presented him a Gladius which had a blade that was made out of stainless steel, was lined with gold and had an inscription that read Veni, Vidi, Vici. Edmund muttered, "I came, I saw, I conquered."
Eutropius said "And conquer you shall. If you choose to go on this journey with me, that is." Edmund asked "I accept. When and where do we meet?" Eutropius told him "In two days' time, at your house. With that Eutropius continued on his way.
