Chapter one
CARD RETRIEVED ‎ ‎"Thud." A lady clad in a black jumpsuit leaped into an office from the window, with knives and a gun tightly strapped on her belt as she strapped her backpack. She crept towards the desk, her eyes darting around for signs of danger. She hastily pulled her backpack to the front and dropped it on the desk, unzipping it. She brought out an eyeglass, a wire, a telephone, and a hand drilling machine. ‎ ‎She scanned the room, and her eyes spotted a little Mary statue, and a smile curved up on her lips. She moved in slow but steady steps towards it, placing her hands on it. ‎ ‎" gotcha," she grinned mischievously as she twisted the statue. A creaking sound broke the quiet office as a safe door opened and her smile widened. ‎ ‎She swiftly took the tools she had dropped on the office desk and started operating on the safe door. She picked up the lens, putting it on professionally, and picked up the wire connecting it to the door and the telephone. She twisted the phone, placing her ear to the door, listening to the sound. After a few minutes, she took the drilling machine, placed it on the doorknob, and started drilling. The door lock opened and she cleaned the sweat that tickled her face. ‎ ‎Standing up, she opened the door and entered. Inside were wads of cash neatly stocked for future reference. But her eyes scanned the room frantically until her gaze spotted a small black box placed adjacent to the rows of wads in the room. ‎ ‎ ‎In a blur of motion, she got to the box, opened it, and searched through the files until she found a rectangular card with just a few strokes of words on it. ‎ ‎Just as she entered, she hastily closed the box and placed it at the exact spot, coming out of the safe locking it. She got to the office and stood startled for a few seconds before smirking arrogantly. ‎ ‎Before her were five heavily armed guards with menacing bodies pointing their guns towards her," Stop right there and hand over what you took," one of the guards, who looked like their leader, ordered, his gaze locking with the lady. ‎ ‎The lady scoffed as she shrugged her shoulders." Or what?" she asked, her gaze lazily glancing at them as she tucked the card into her pants pocket. ‎ ‎"Then I guess our guns would do the talking," the guard retorted, making the lady chuckle, her eyes devoid of emotion. ‎ ‎"Take her," the leader commanded his subordinate. ‎ ‎The lady, her movement swift as she ran, leaping on the desk as she took out a gun, shooting the guards, turning the office into a battleground. Her movement was fast and furious as she brought down the guards, landing gracefully on the marble tiles on the floor, the metallic tang of blood filled the air. ‎ ‎She smirked in disdain as she glanced at the corpses; they were no match for her. ‎She returned to the desk, putting her tools back and bringing out four bombs, throwing them in the corner of the office before retrieving her phone from her pant pocket." Mission accomplished, card retrieved," she said almost inaudibly as she hung up immediately returning the phone to her pants pocket. ‎ ‎She strapped her backpack when she heard the heavy footsteps of guards marching in. She sprinted to the window, taking the rope she had used earlier. She climbed out of the window and jumped down. At the same time, the ten guards stormed in with their guns tightly clutched in their hands. ‎ ‎The lady with thorough experience climbed down the building, mounted her bike, brought out a remote, and pressed the only button on it, making the office blow up, the thick, hazy smoke glaring in the sky. Turning on the power button of the bike, she sped off, disappearing into the still night. ‎ ‎La Liga Casino ‎ ‎In the deep part of St Petersburg, stood the enormous casino of the Bravta organization. Under the neon glow light of the casino were two strippers, their bodies in sync with the booming music as they twisted their bodies in front of the lustful eyes, ready to pounce on them. In a corner, hushed deals were being made, gambling away their fortune, the cloying sweetness of expensive perfume mixing with the strong smell of cigarettes and tobacco. ‎ ‎"The goods are genuine. Death, is there a need to check thoroughly?" a thick masculine voice echoed in a vip lounge of the casino. ‎ ‎Death glanced at the man who spoke as he lazily leaned his back against the sofa on which he sat. Before him was a center table creating a distance between him and the man, his silver nose mask shining under the neon light. ‎ ‎"It is fake, boss." Nikolai, Death's right-hand man, threw the bombshell, turning his gaze towards Death. ‎ ‎Death, his gaze calm, his eyes void of emotion as he stared at the man.. ‎ ‎" Alex..." his voice in a low guttural growl as they all felt suffocated under his aura. ‎ ‎The man's gesture was swift as the five guards he brought with him brought out their guns from their belt straps, pointing them towards Death and Nikolai. ‎ ‎Nikolai's gaze hardened as he diverted his gaze towards Death, waiting for instructions to take action, but Death's gaze was calm, almost to the point of being nonchalant. ‎ ‎" I knew there was nothing you could do, because your weakness lies in my hands." Alex's lips curved up in a mocking smile as he watched Death's reaction, but when he saw nothing, his eyes blazed with rage in a controlled manner. ‎ ‎The ringing of a cell phone broke the quiet lounge. Alex pulled out his phone from his pants pocket and picked up the call, a wave of unease washing over him. ‎ ‎"The card has been taken by death, and a few of our men are dead," the speaker said at the other end of the phone. ‎ ‎"w...what?" Alex muttered under his breath as he widened his eyes in horror, as the phone slipped from his hand, crashing on the floor. ‎ ‎He glanced at Death, who was still calm, his heart beating frantically against his ribs in pure panic, his legs trembling as beads of sweat dropped from his forehead. It's no wonder he was calm, too calm. ‎ ‎Death smirked in satisfaction as he watched him tremble all over. In a swift movement, his leg shot out, hitting the center table, which flew towards Alex. Alex attacked unprepared, shielded his face with his arm, and the table broke into pieces as blood sprouted from his hand. ‎ ‎After what seemed like a minute, Nikolai and Death stood in the middle of the corpses, and the pungent smell of blood filled the air. ‎ ‎They both ambled out of the lounge, their bodies clear of stains. " Boris brought in his report that Valisa was able to retrieve the card," Nikolai reported as they got into the elevator. ‎ ‎" I know," Death replied, his voice indifferent as he stared at the countdown of the elevator numbers. "Take care of the corpses," he concluded as the elevator beeped open. ‎ ‎Coming out to the last floor where the thumping of music resonated through the room. Death turned towards the door when he felt an arm wrapped around his waist as a sandalwood scent filled his nostrils. ‎ ‎"Please... please save me".
