chapter thirteen: Divorce

"dear marriage is not child's play you can sort things out with your husband".Uncle mattews.

"You don't have to convince her uncle she has no right to leave".brandon said.

"I am done with this marriage,I never wanted to get married to him right now I can't even stand the sight of him".I said angrily.

"Let her do what she wants then, I will get thaniel married to someone else you will get the papers tomorrow you are officially our servant dylan take her there". lady marie said.

"thank you but don't say I didn't warn you if you don't fufill the condition there will be choas".I said and I left.

"Brandon you have failed me infact all of you". lady marie said as she glared at her sons.

"Mother we have no other choice". Brandon said calmly with his head down.

"Should we have let you died mother".ellis said.

"We had no choice".Draco said.

"You are all fools,how did we get here".Lady marie yelled.

"Mother you could have died,we still don't know who poisoned you". thaniel said.

"that's why I called you to my room I need more information".Ladymarie said as she sat down.

"We don't have any information mother you have so many enemies but that's not it,we don't when and how you got poisoned because we checked everything". brandon said.

"Nothing strange happened that day who could do this".Lady marie said anxiously just then they heard a knock.

"Who is that".brandon yelled and Timothy came in.

"Me my lord". Timothy said in a bow.

"How dare you leave now".brandon yelled.

"He stays you all should go". lady marie said calmly.

"Mother you are sending us away for him".ellis said in disbelief.

"Mother".Draco said.

"Leave,I have something to discuss with him". lady Marie said,they left and Timothy shut the door.

"Good to have you back Marie". Timothy said as he sat down.

"You should have waited". Lady marie said.

"I don't take orders from you and it seems you have forgotten your place". Timothy said mockingly.

"Just get to it".lady Marie said.

"The boss wants you to get start the auction very soon also you need to be very careful". Timothy said.

"that's impossible but I will try my best tell the boss that someone is after my life I need help". Ladymarie said anxiously.

"I will tell the boss". Timothy said and left

"This is your room get up early tomorrow". dylan said as he opened the door.it was very dark I couldn't see anything.

"Thank you".I said and he left.I stood outside confused and then flair came with a lamp.

"let's go". she said smiling as she entered.I stood outside,I opened my box and removed all my clothes.

"What are you doing".she said curiously.

"Give me a lighter".I said and then she gave me,then I set the clothes on fire.

"this is insane".she said in shock.

"Don't touch it, it's my decision and not yours".I said angrily.

"Fine".she said and closed the doors.I watched as the clothes burn to ashes.I walked to the apple farm and then I sat down crying.I felt so pained and defeated.

"Who is this beautiful damsel in distress". ellis said smiling.I was so suprised to see him, he was holding a bag as well.

"leave me alone".I said as I wiped my tears.

"I am not holding you,well I am not happy that you are crying here alone by yourself".he said as he sat down and then I moved.

"Why are you here".I said

"Well to see you,I thought you said you loved me".he said, he was using my words against me.

"that's not what we are talking about".I said

"I don't care I just have a question why didn't you let mother die".ellis said. my throat became dry Suddenly,i opened my mouth but i couldn't speak.

"Don't worry I won't expose you,I like your games it's really fun but answer me why didn't you let her die".he said.

"how did you know".I said dryly.

"I had always had my doubts,but it got confirmed when you lied about loving me when I know you hate me". Ellis said.

"I am in trouble".I said

"Not just yet you have to be very careful because if mother finds out she will eliminate you,lady Marie is a very dangerous woman". Ellis warned.

"Aren't you supposed to be on her side,as far as I know you all are like her".I said.

"Don't be silly we all are just trying to survive but some of us have lost ourselves in the race of survival".he said calmly.

"that's not an excuse,you watched her kill innocent people but you said nothing, how do you people sleep at night".I said angrily and he stood up.

"she killed my wife and child when I tried to protest,look light you don't know how dangerous that woman is,take these clothes I saw you burning your clothes".he said angrily as he dropped the bag and left.

I kept on thinking about what Ellis said while I walked to the room,I didn't know she could be so cruel.I got to room, flair was already sleeping I felt bad for yellling at her it wasn't her fault,it was mine for believing thaniel liked me,I lied down and slept.

I had a very bad dream,I was pushed into a big dark well and I woke screaming.

"No".I said, I was sweating profusely.

"calm down".flair said as she hugged me in suprise.

"I can't die".I cried,I was so scared.

"No you won't die okay calm down it was just a dream".flair said while patting my back.

"It was so real,I miss my family".I cried.

"It's okay just calm down everything will be fine don't worry".she said.

"I am so sorry I yelled at you for no reason". I said as I wiped my tears.

"It's fine,you need to stop crying now okay". she said.

"Yes I need to stop crying".I said as I pulled away from her.

"We need to get ready for work".she said as she stood up. We got ready and then she went to the kitchen while I went to the fields.

I was done with my work on the fields and then I was asssigned to sweep the driveway. it was already10am and I was really hungry.

I was still sweeping when I saw ellis come out of the house.I offended him yesterday,so I ran to him.

"I must be very lucky today".he said smiling.

"I am sorry".i said trying to catch my breath.

"I didn't hear you".he said smiling.

"I am sorry about yesterday".I said.

"No offense,I must say the clothes suit you". he said, he was dressed extravagantly.

"it's comfortable, it's like you have important work today".I said and he laughed.

"yes my dear,I am going to the boutique and a fashion show".he said proudly.

"What's a boutique".I said cluelessly.

"It's a shop for selling clothes,well i own one sugar".he said then the car stopped in front of him, the driver came out and opened the door for ellis.

"Sir ellis good morning".he said in a bow.

"good morning, my dear I will have to hurry now I will see you later". he said as he entered.

"Okay".I said and they drove off. then thaniel came out of the house,he was dressed for work.I was about to leave but he stopped me.

"wait".he said calmly.

"Sir I have a lot of work to do".I said calmly trying to hide my anger. then he looked at my clothes.

"sign the divorce papers".he said as he gave it to me.I was expecting him to apologize.

"Okay".I said as I took it and then I signed it.

"We are officially divorced you can now be with the one you love".he said.

"At least he makes me happy".I lied.

'Son I hope the papers have been signed we need to hurry up we can't keep your in-laws waiting".lady marie said as she came out.......
