His skin was red and shiny, his flopping ‘ears’ of hair shriveled to stubs. His eyes were horribly red too, glaring wide with derangement and so far unaware of her. But at least they blinked furiously, though no more tears came. They were alive eyes. Now she just had to see that they stayed that way.
Toni peeked around the motor. Everyone was still shoving and shouting, accusations flying. Already sweating this close to the fire, she yanked the lever that stopped Bobby turning while he was once again facing upwards. She un-slung the bolt-cutters, reached up and cut the wire binding his forehead. Leaning into the ferocious heat, she cut the one around his midsection too.
