Chapter 59. Ari

3083 Words

Somehow, we managed to bring ourselves back into clothes and fix the room as best we could, even though it was harder because Mark barely kept his hands to himself. The way he acted made me loosen a bit, even though the worry was still there. At least while he was still with me, I could pretend everything was alright and I wasn’t fighting for each breath I took. He made me look forward to the future and hope that everything would be alright one day. Once all this was behind our backs, we would circle the world together and enjoy exploring our love. It was a nice dream – a future in which we wouldn’t have to look back wondering when the next pack of wolves would attack. Because of this future now I stood with hands wrapped in my lap, waiting for the woman who knew everything about my past.
