Reality came over me in bits and pieces. Glimpses of light, clouded too quickly with pain and sorrow invaded my bruised brain.  I knew I was sprawled on the back seat of a car that was speeding over city streets, the driver completely out of his mind and not giving a damn about where he was headed, about the turns and bumps and anything coming their way.  It was too much. The pain in my left shoulder was killing me, there was some dark, sticky substance all over me, it was glued to me like a second skin, but I still felt naked and exposed. The world spun mercilessly around me and I couldn’t focus. Something had happened, something bad, but I couldn’t quite make myself remember what exactly. I could feel someone’s hands on me, but they were all wrong, even though I knew them like I knew
