Unbreakable Bond

Chapter 17

Isaac and Paige got to the infirmary, the nurse there got Dorothy hooked up to the machine quickly.

"Who is she?", the nurse asked.

"My grandmother Isaac said before Paige could say anything. No one needed to know that they were related. Not yet anyway.

"What happened to her Mr. Isaac?", she asked.

"She fell down stairs. She's been out for about five minutes now", he said watching her vitals as the nurse took them.

The machine started to beep aggressively. Another person came in. "Her heart rate is dropping", the new person said. They pulled the bed back and began compressions.

"Oh God", Paige said. That made the nurse push her and Isaac out.

"I am not going anywhere" Paige said to Isaac. He was holding her and walking her out the door. She was crying and scared.

Isaac nodding to the nurse as they walked out of the room.

"I can't lose her right now Isaac she's all I have", Paige said into Isaac's chest.

He rubbed her back saying, "You have us Paige. It is five of us and we will take care of you". 

He was usually the one crying from anger or sad and having negative thoughts. Now he was the older sibling and had to protect his baby sister. He saw himself in her. She's strong but emotional. Not a great combination, he should know.

"Do you know those two who are with her", Paige asked between breaths.

"Of course. The nurse with the short hair is Serena and the doctor, she has the braids, is Alicia. I have known them for about three years now. They are cousins and the only ones who survive their house fire", Isaac said.

Paige looked up at Isaac in shock. She shook her head feeling sorry for them. She knew everyone had their own story, she just wished it was not so sad.

About two hours later the doctor came out.

"Isaac, she is stable and you can come see her. She does need rest though", said Alicia.

Isaac nodded and looked to Paige who was already standing. 

"Alright let's go", he said and followed Alicia.

Once they entered the room Dorothy had a oxygen mask on and an IV in her arm. Paige ran to her, hugging her.

 "I am so sorry. Is it anything I can do for you", Paige asked still hugging her.

"Well I need to breathe sweetie", Dorothy said laughing as Paige let her go.

"Oh sorry, I had to make sure you were real", Paige said looking down at her grandmother.

"I am fine sweetie just need to rest okay" she said out of breath.

"Doctor's orders", Serena said cleaning up the entire room before she left out. At that same moment Dorothy drifted off to sleep.

"Whoa what was that?", Paige asked. She felt a shock in her arm.

"What was what?", Isaac asked confused because to him nothing happened.

"WHOA! There it goes again", Paige said. 

It was a pulling. Someone or something was calling her. Isaac was just watching her, he even looked around trying to understand. Maybe he missed something.

"Okay, this is weird. I have to go Isaac, something is forcing me to move. Can you stay with her and if you leave come find me please", Paige said as she exit the room.

“Grace?”, Isaiah said to the person who stood as Kat.

“Isaiah”, Grace sighed. “Finally someone who knows me. What happened to my body?" Grace asked looking down at herself

Isaiah open the cell to let Grace out. She ran to him and hugged him tightly. 

"Uhh the Doctor from the Society took you and changed you", he said to her after he let her go.

"It is okay, we can change it all back", Aria said to Grace looking at her suspiciously.

"It really is me Aria. You should hug me, it will help you", Grace said stepping to Aria who took a step back.

Grace stood still. She put her arms out to see if Aria would come to her. Aria was nervous, she did not know her. She barely knew Isaiah but she trusted him. She remember fighting the woman standing before her. She was different somehow, like when she was holding her in her lap. She smelled of her mother but something still was off. Aria took a chance and walked into Grace's arms and embraced her.

There was electricity flowing through their bodies, making them glow. Because the energy was to powerful it made them tighten their embrace. After about a minute or so Paige was walking towards them after running, allowing the energy to guide her to her sisters. She was shock when she saw Aria hugging Kat. She was ready to fight when they both looked at her, holding their arm out for her. She was confused but walked to them anyway. Fighting the energy was stupid. She had joined in on the hug. They were experiencing a video through their telepathic link, of all the memories that were taken from them. They saw when they were babies, then little girls, always together. Happy, playing, learning spells, learning to cook with their parents. Days when their father did not come home until they were already asleep. Days when life seemed so simple. The night before the carnival. They saw when their father and mother died. The same day Grace was taken from them. Paige and Grace memories about all the times Grace reached only her, when she was trying to escape the Society.

As the memories returned, the girls ended up on the floor, holding hands crying. They were so overwhelmed with everything and none of them had the time to properly process it. Aria especially. Isaiah was so confused, just standing there watching. He also shared a tear because the energy between them was so unreal. He could feel what they were feeling. He never experience this before and he had been around a lot of powerful mutants. They were the sisters, he and Isaac were suppose to protect long before any of the distasteful events happened. He wanted to be there for them because he missed out on so much.

The energy stopped, Aria and Paige were looking directly at Grace. It all made sense now. They had a sister this entire time but could not remember her because of the doctor. She gave her life to protect theirs. Aria was angry with herself for giving everyone a hard time. Because they could feel each other emotions fully now; there was no disconnection, Grace turned to Aria.

"Stop it now", she said. Aria knew what she meant but shook her head and covered her face.

"It's okay Aria, we did not know", Paige said hugging her, offering comfort.

"I know but it feels wrong. Everything we have gone through just was not right. We were pulled apart as girls, then I did not believe you when we were in the hotel. I am a horrible sister", Aria said covering her face again.

"You are not", Isaiah pulled her hands from her face so she was looking directly at him. "You have been trying to save them all this time. No one knew all the things we had to go through to get here. Do not beat yourself up", Isaiah said to her holding her hands. He knew all too well what guilt felt like and was not going to allow Aria to take the blame for what happened to all of them.

"Besides, who knew we would have brothers?", Paige said smiling to Isaiah. She hugged him too. She saw her father in him and his tone was deep like he's as well. She missed her father but two brothers would do just fine.

They all smiled and got up, when Isaac came bursting in and out of breath. "Good I found you", he said catching his breath.

"What is it?", Isaiah asked concern in his voice.

"Why is Kat out?", he asked.

"Hi I am Grace your sister, not Kat", Grace said to Isaiah rolling her eyes.

"Ohh that make sense. Anyway, it's grandmother Dorothy, we need to go", he said moving towards the door before any of them can asked questions.

"Oh grandmother please do not leave us. I need you still", Paige said crying all over again.

"Shhhh my sweet child. Everything will be okay", Dorothy said in a whisper. 

She could barely move so she did not try to grab Paige's hand. Paige turned to Isaac, who was standing behind her.

"I am so sorry bringing me back caused this on you", Grace said holding Dorothy's hand.

"Ohh hush. Nothing in this world would stop me from doing it again. I will give my life for all of yours", she looked around the room at all of them. 

Isaiah was beside Dorothy's bed on the left, in front of Grace. Aria was standing at the end of Dorothy's bed looking at her, trying to show strength. She always had to be strong so when she cried she felt weak. She would let her grandmother know she will be strong. As if Grace and Paige knew, they moved to her side and held her hands. She was not crying anymore, she will be the rock she always was for Paige. Isaiah and Isaac walked to the ends for the girls as Dorothy said her final words.

"I am so proud of each of you. Isaiah and Isaac take care for your sisters, you two are so much like your father. You all need to rekindle, get to know each other and stay together no matter what". 

She looked directly at each of them as she spoke, pausing when she had more to say to one of them at a time. 

"Paige its okay to be sad my dear, but do not stay sad for long", she took a deep breath then started again, "Aria, my sweet Aria, do not allow you hurt and sorrows to become anger. You still owe Cora an apology young lady, does not matter if she has already forgiven you. I will be asking her if you did it, and soon. You were not raised to be disrespectful. Grace, ohh Grace, how we are so happy to have you back. I know the journey was long and hard but look at all of you know", she stopped, just looking at them.

Dorothy could see they were sad but happy to finally have each other. She knew the world would be at their hands once they found out how strong they were together. Dorothy smiled one last time as the machine next to her flatline. The nurse came rushing in. She was about to try to save Dorthy when Isaiah spoke

"Let her sleep peacefully Serena".

Serena stopped and called the time of death as soon as Alicia walked in. 3:55 am. They lost their last grandmother, at age 85. Paige and Grace sobbed softly as they all exit the room. Of course, Paige had to be pulled away, only Isaac could get her.
