I didn’t know when I fell asleep or when I woke up the next morning.
All I knew was that this bed was the most comfortable one I’d ever slept in. Accidentally falling asleep on Vera’s bed while cleaning her room before her return from a sleepover made hers a close second.
I was comfortable. Too comfortable. And I hated it.
As I struggled to sit up from my lying position, the weight of the events of the past few days pressed down on me.
Just a few days ago, I’d been carting dishes, wiping up spills, and passing fake smiles to pompous packmates who thought the sun shined out of their asses because they ordered seven courses at once.
All while juggling keeping Lilith and her demonic spawn happy and somehow keeping myself from passing out from exhaustion.
