"So this is how it all ends, all my journeys and struggles. How sad", Norman's exclaimed after getting the news that he was terminal. He was less surprised than he thought he would be, after all his whole life was a big preparation scene that was preparing him for this very moment. Still, something felt off, "is this it?", He asked himself. He always imagined he would go down with style, in a very dramatic, climatic fashion, after living as much as there was to live, while feeling fulfilled. That wasn't the case and poor Norman laid back on his bed feeling empty and void for roughly the first time in his entire life.

Introduction
On the hospital bed Peets laid, thinking if he had lived a promising and fulfilling life. Trying his very best to convince himself that he was the one to die in his best friend's stead. Sitting beside him was his twin sister, Beets. The last couple of days had had their toll on everyone and the never silent Beets was quiet as the night. From this to that, it was clear that tragedy was a part of the Wood family now, just as it is for the Karps. Most families had been affected by the Sound Quake that happened about a week before. The Sound Quake as the authorities called it was the first of it's kind amongst the natural disasters. Although smaller scaled incidents had been noticed all year around the world and were known as Loud House. An high intensity of sound and heat would suddenly gush out of the earth nearly deafening people as it moved. The cause of it was still unknown to man but as recent studies showed the only logical explanation was that earth was trying to lose its always increasing heat. Though, the Sound Quake was far greater than anything the authorities could have predicted. The intense heat it caused dried up all the rivers and lakes in the vicinity. The sound alone was able to completely destroy half of the city of Culat, the biggest and most prosperous city in the whole of Africa. The effects of the quake were felt across the whole of Northern Conda, the most developed country in Africa and was just enough to cause recognizable damage in Ukwa, where the Karps and Wood families lived.
