He stands leaning against his car with his hands in the pockets of his black sweatpants. He's wearing a grey hoodie and his hair is pulled back, my eyes catch his hazel brown eyes and we just stand there looking at each other for a few seconds. I don't ignore how good the sun kissed tan makes him look. I quickly look away and begin to walk in the opposite direction of him. "No." He says as he walks over to me and grabs my wrist in his hand. His warm touch sends a rush of electricity through me and I spin around in his hold.
"Let go of me." I snap as I pull my wrist from his hold. "You've lost your right to touch me." I snap and he takes a step back in shock.
"You're just not going to give me a chance to explain myself then?" He questions and I roll my eyes.
"Explain what? It's pretty self explanatory Lucas." I snap and he shakes his head.
"So you're just going to break up with me then?" He questions and I give him a blank look.
"What else am I supposed to do? Get naked and join you and blondie for a threesome?" I snap and he gives me an amused look. "No, this isn't funny. Just go away, you and I are done. Finished." I emphasize the latter part and he takes a step forward.
"You and I haven't even got started as yet." He wraps his arm around my waist and I try to pull away. "She's my cousin, her name is Angela. Chris and I met her at in New Zealand and went with her to the Bahamas to celebrate her birthday." He explains and now I feel like a complete i***t.
"Oh." I say in a small voice and he pulls me closer to him.
"Yes, oh." He mocks and I roll my eyes at his words. "And the next time you want to break up with me, say it to my face and not over the phone." He says with a smile.
"Who said we were back together?" I tease and he lets out a soft laugh. God I've missed his laugh. I've missed him.
"Who said we were over in the first place?" He pulls me to him and leans in for a kiss.
"I'm still mad at you. You lied to me." I pull away and he raises a brow.
"Let's get this straight. I didn't lie to you, you called me and yelled at me and when I tried to explain myself you cut the call and didn't answer any of my calls." He leans in again with a smile. "I'm standing outside this hospital at eleven in the night in the freezing cold waiting for you, give me a break here." I capture his lips with mine because I did overreact and I'll admit that, but never to his face. He moans against my lips and wraps his arms around me tighter as he pulls me closer to him.
He drove behind me the entire way home and walks into the apartment as he shuts the door behind him. Drake is out with the boys and Brooke is probably somewhere with Ethan, I throw my purse onto the couch and turn around to give him a raised brow and a smile. "Are you following me?" I tease just like the first time he did when we were at The Saffron and his eyes dance with amusement. I attempt to let out a laugh but I yawn instead and he shakes his head.
"You need sleep, let's go." He wraps his arm around my shoulder and walks us down the hall.
"You know what we should do instead of sleep?" I say as he closes the door behind him and I reach over to lock it and give him a heated look. His eyes widen in shock when my hands move to the hem of his hoodie and I pull it up and over his head.
"Madison." He warns when my fingers play with the strings on his sweatpants. "Don't start something you won't be able to finish." He pulls me closer and bends down as his hands wrap around my thighs. He picks me up in one swift movement and my legs wrap around his waist as I hold onto his shoulders for balance and let out a soft laugh.
He climbs onto my bed and places me down before placing his lips against mine and his body in between my legs. My legs wrap around his lower waist as he brushes his lips against mine. I moan against his mouth when his teeth latch out and bite my bottom lip. I push him off me and reach for the hem off my polo neck sweater and pull it over my head. "Jesus f*****g Christ." He mumbles under his breath when he takes in the sight of my black lace bra. I roll him over onto his back as I hop onto his torso and his hands meet my hips.
My lips move to his and he flips us back over before I can even get the chance to grind my hips against his. His mouth is on my neck, the spot, before he begins to suck on the sensitive skin. I let out a loud moan and my fingers reach the back of his head before I pull the hair tie out his hair and weave my fingers through his hair. He kisses the skin on my neck and pulls away before he captures my lips with his.
"Madison?" There's a knock on the door before Drake's voice comes through. I thought he was at the club with the boys. I shove Lucas off me and he gives me a wounded look.
"Yes?" I yell back and there's silence for a second before he speaks again.
"I thought you were working all night?" He says as he tries to open the locked door.
"Yeah I was, we got sent home early because some of the doctors came back." I say before looking around for my shirt.
"Okay, hey Luke." He says from the other end and my eyes widen in shock as Lucas gives me a smirk.
"Hey." He yells back and I smack his arm.
"Goodnight and keep this door open." He says in his overprotective big brother voice before I hear his footsteps down the hall.
"Drake." I yell and I hear his laughter bounce down the hall before I hear his room door close.
"Where were we?" I ask as a yawn escapes my lips and Lucas gives me an amused look.
"You're tired." He says as I hop back onto his naked torso and trace my fingers over his broad shoulders.
"No, I'm not." I say as another yawn escapes my lips and he lets out a laugh.
"Yes you are and I'm jet lagged." He says with a smile.
"Are you rejecting my offer for s*x?" I say in disbelief and he shakes his head.
"Are you offering or demanding for s*x?" He teases and I roll my eyes at his words.
"I think it's time we get it out the way. So I know if you're worth dating or not." I tease and he gives me a wide eyed look before rolling us back over.
"I'll have you know, I am worthy." He mumbles as the bulge in his pants pokes against my thigh and I let out a soft moan. "But it needs to be perfect when it happens, not when you're tired and I'm jet lagged." He whispers against my lips.
"Lucas Parker, are you trying to be romantic?" I tease as he rubs his nose against mine and blushes. "It's adorable." I grab his face in between my hands and he shakes his head.
"Nothing about me is adorable Madison Evans." He leans down to brush his lips against mine and I beg to differ, I think he's the perfect mixture of typical male and adorable.
The next morning I wake up to find myself on my back and Luke's head on my chest. His arm is wrapped tightly around my waist and his hair is sprawled out on my chest. I push back his hair from his face and he shifts before his phone starts buzzing from my nightstand.
"Lucas." I whisper and he grunts. "Your phone." He rolls off me and I stand to my feet before looking for my shirt on the floor and slipping it on. "Hello?" He says into his speaker and I slip out the room giving him some privacy. I walk into the kitchen to see Brooke making breakfast and Drake sitting at the counter with a wary look on his face.
"Morning." I say as I reach for a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Brooke is engaged." Drake announces and she gives him a glare as my eyes widen in shock. My wide eyes meet Drake's from behind Brooke and the look on his face confirms that he's not lying.
"Congratulations." I stutter out and she turns around to give me a smile. Wasn't she yelling at Ethan the other day telling him to never come back?
"Thank you Madison." She says and that's when I catch a glimpse of the huge rock on her finger. Jesus Christ, is that a real diamond?
"You're welcome." I return her smile as she turns around and I give Drake a 'what the f**k' look. "I've got to head in to the hospital today." I tell Drake and he nods as I slip out of the kitchen leaving the two of them to sort out their differences.
"Babe, you'll never believe what I just saw." I slip into the room to find Lucas sitting up with his back against the headboard and his phone in front of him.
"What babe?" He teases with a smirk as he locks his phone and places it on my bedside table.
"Brooke is engaged and she has this diamond the size of a planet on her finger." I hand him a bottle of water and slip under the covers beside him.
"Well, that is something." He reaches for his hair tie and pulls his hair back as I watch him in awe.
"Your tan is disgusting." I say and he gives me a weird look.
"You take pleasure in making fun of me don't you?" He says and I roll my eyes at his words. "I have to go to the office today." He gives me a look that tells me he doesn't want to but he has to.
"I have to go into the hospital soon." I let out a soft yawn and he wraps an arm around me before pulling me closer.
"How about we have a proper date tonight. Dinner and a movie?" He says with a smile and it sounds tempting.
"How about you cook me dinner and I'll pick a movie and we can make out on your couch instead of watching it?" I give him a teasing smile and he rolls us over as he hovers over me.
"I like that plan." I knew he would, he's a typical man. "Go get ready, I'll drop you off at work on my way." He pulls away from me and smacks my butt when I stand to my feet. I throw him my best glare and he gives me a charming wink.
When I arrive to the hospital Sadie and Dean are in the locker room and the atmosphere is tense as I step in. Dean's eyes meet mine and he offers me a smile as I walk over to him and Sadie walks out without a word. "What's going on between you two?" I ask as I throw my purse onto the bench and cross my arms.
"She's crazy. She snuck into my apartment and woke me up with hea-" He begins to say but I cut him off with a raised hand.
"No, Dean there are things people share and things people don't share. That was one of them." I snap before walking off and he lets out a belly erupting laugh.
I step into General and Lawson stands against the desk flipping through a file when his eyes meet mine. "Evans, the girl from last night is asking for you." He says and I nod. I figured I should check up on her seeing that I didn't have a chance to last night.
I step into room 102 and Candice snaps her head in my direction as her light blue eyes meet mine. She looks like she's nothing older than seventeen, with pale skin and brown hair. "Are you the doctor that saved my life yesterday?" She asks and I close the door behind me as I step into her room.
"Yes." I walk over to check her charts and my eyes widen when I see that Lawson has written down that her overdose wasn't accidental.
There's a list of psychologists with their numbers and pamphlets for rehabilitation centres in her file.
"Why didn't you just let me die?" She snaps as my eyes meet hers. "Why did you bring me back?"
