We got out of my car and hurried to the emergency room to check if someone we knew was there. I asked the nurse behind the counter if a Wheeler University student got admitted in the last twenty-four hours. She said Daniel Barcelona was on a stretcher waiting for a room.
That was weird because Dani’s family owned this hospital. It was nearly impossible that he was waiting for a room. Their family had a VIP room reserved in case of times like this.
I tugged on the green curtain and moved it to the side. There were a handful of people behind it. Confusion filled my mind; who would party in a hospital emergency room?
