*Constance* I walked down the dimly lit corridors behind a group of guards leading me to the Council Chamber, which also acted as a dining hall. The red dress I wore felt heavy on my weary body, and the sparkling gems around my neck felt even more so. My shoes clacked against the polished stone floors, emphasizing my every step. I cringed at the sound. These things reminded me only of a past I had lost and left behind. They were a part of my old life, something I had hoped to forget.
