Lighting A Flame.

The sun slowly dipped in the horizon, as the moon shone brightly in the clear starry night. Theresa sat below a large oak tree as she watched Mr No sense of direction throw a large bundle of sticks in front of her "Time to make a fire love." He sat down next to her as he pulled out a lighter. "Got any paper?" He asks, Theresa gasped as she searched around for paper "If you told me to bring papers I should have brought my large amount of unfinished assessments!" She said sarcastically as she slapped her knee. "Very funny." Theresa returned it with a smile as she grabbed the dried autumn leaves and piled it on top of the sticks, she took out a small bottle from her jacket pocket and held her hand out towards him. "Alright Mr?" She waited for him to introduce himself "Call me Dwayne."Hello Dwayne. My name is Theresa and welcome to tonight's survival guide episode 1. Where ever you are...or whatever situation you’re in...always bring a small bottle of aerosol." Theresa shakes a small bottle of aerosol and lights up the lighter.  Spraying a large amount of fire onto the dried leaves and sticks. Dwayne watched as it started to burn, he looks up at the smiling 20 year old who seemed very happy to see her little fire burning away. He smiles to himself as he leans back on the root of the tree, Theresa got a little crazy with adding the leaves that the fire grew, Dwayne looked a bit worried as he grabbed for her hand before she could add more into the pile "Uh...I think that's enough."  Theresa looks at the fire and then slowly nods, Dwayne slowly removes his hand away, Theresa glanced over at Dwayne who seemed occupied with warming his hands, and threw the ones in her hands in, earning an are you serious look from him.  She laughed it off as she sat next to him "A little fire wont't hurt." She teased, to which he scoffs at. Silence fell,  as they both stared into the cackling fire, the sounds of grasshopper rubbing their legs together in the background,  silence did not really sit well with Theresa. "Alright Mr Dwayne, I'm not exactly the type who sits here in silence, so I have an idea how about you tell me about yourself." Theresa clapped her hands together "I have another great idea." He rubs his chin as he looked up in thought. "Oh yeah what is it?'" She asks perking up. "Why don't we shut up and stare deep into the fire till we pass out?" He looks at her with a grin, Theresa rolls her eyes "Fine! I just wanted to be nice, hope you have fun talking to the fire." She stood up to move away from him, Theresa heard the sweet sound of him chuckling as he grabbed for her wrist. "I'm kidding." He tugs at her hand as she plopped down next to him, he saw her pouting like a kid as he shakes his head lightly at the childish behaviour she was putting up.  "Well, then. What do you want to know?" He asks as he laced his hands behind his head and rested against the tree. "Um, who was that woman you were with?" She blurted out unexpectedly, "Straight to the good questions are we?" He chuckles. "You don't really have to-" "She was just one of the many females that looked  up to me." He simply said. Theresa not buying it she leaned towards him, looking into his dark eyes. "Liar." She whispered, Dwayne chuckles at the young girl "Are teenage girls always this noisy?" He flicks the top of her forehead, wincing at the small little sting she retreated back to her seat and rubbed circles around the light wound. "First of all, I am not a teenager. I am a young adult. Adult!" She repeated. Dwayne couldn't help but laugh, he hadn't  laughed like this for a very long time, he found the girl quite amusing and very child like, she was a breath of fresh air from all the serious, gloomy people he's had to deal with so far. He found her quite easy to talk to, very relaxing.  "You know you wound me when you laugh at things that are serious." She points at him "Would you like me to laugh at that sorry excuse of a beard?" Her thickly shaped eyebrow rose in question. Dwayne dropped his smile and Theresa earned it as she flipped her thick bouncy hair back. "Let me help you with that burn." She kissed her thumb, grabbed his hand and placed it on his hand making a sizzling noise, Dwayne couldn't help but stare at the weird person in front of him "That wasn't a bur-" "Uh uh!" She placed a finger to his lips silencing him "Shhhhh. Let me be in this moment."  Dwayne smiled  and he grabbed for the finger against his lips, "What big fingers you have." He helped unfold her fingers to which Theresa embarrassingly heats up and tugged at her hand, it not for his grip, before she could say anything, he placed a kiss on the top of her hand, eyes staring right at her. "Thank you Theresa.” For what? She wanted to ask. If not for her face which showed a  shade of crimson, she would have asked, but she  couldn't think of the words.  She felt weird. The feeling she had for Ryan slowly drifted away, not letting her take any notice but a small little flame sat gingerly in her heart.
